I stay about 5 nights in this hotel per year for some 4 years now. The hotel used to be very nice but as it is very often at full capacity, it is losing its niceness. The rooms aren't properly cleaned (see pictures) neither maintained (broken stuff not repaired, etc). The breakfast also lost its charm and quality (dry and over baked eggs, watery juice, few to no fruit selection). I did report the issues...

A wonderful 1 week stay. Easy access from the motorway. Had a nice room. Breakfast selection was good and the breakfast area is spacious. A few staff are really nice and friendly.

There are rooms quite big and others small. The breakfast is very basic and they have always the same. Room is OK and the treat from the people is great. They switch on always the air conditioning in the room, so it used to be too cold when I went back to the hotel...

The front desk are always nice and typical American standard costumer service. Way higher than any European owned hotels. They really serve the costumer well and great us as we are king and queen. The price is ok and the breakfast is great with variety of warm and cold food.

Loved every thing about the stay. The staff are helpful and nice. The neighborhood is so beautiful and modern it has a very nice calming vibe. The rooms have a small kitchen which is a huge advantage. The tram station is very close to the hotel. Absolutely the stay of choice while in Freiburg.

It's a great place, newly started so Minor inconveniences are tolerable, i.e room cleaning once a week so you will have to clean your room by yourself until the cleaning day

Lovely hotel, we arrived on opening night, it felt like they were already very accustomed to receiving guests. Very family friendly: staff immediately rushed a chair for our one year old, they put a very good baby bed with cute covers in the room and the staff is super friendly. Loved the shower too.

We had the perfect stay at this hotel while in Freiburg. We loved it so much that we even recommended it on our website. :) The staff is super friendly, the breakfast is good and they offered free drinks at the bar if you help save water by refusing the daily turn-down service if you don't really need it. The rooms were big and clean, the breakfast was also good, there is parking area for the hotel but you won't find a place if you got there late, you can park outside the hotel free from 19:00 until 10:00 Am so you need to move your car before 10 in the morning. Nice clean and spacious hotel, but a bit out of the way

Hygene could be better. It was not so clean in the room. We had a dirty toiletpaper for example. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful.

Room was okay. But the check in was terrible. First we tried it on the machine but it said we had to pay again. We decided to come back after 5 pm. We then tried to check in with one of your staff. A very rude woman that said we did not have a reservation. We waited for 10 minutes while she was typing on the computer but did not say anything. Meanwhile more people were waiting to check in. The hotel was clean and had plenty of parking. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean but tiny. Great to stop at while visiting Freiburg. The only problem we had was its accessibility. The buses only run on weekdays and also not on public holidays. We were compelled to drive in to town. We did not try the breakfast buffet.

This is such a sweet hotel. Old fashioned but up-to-date where needed, good beds, super friendly service and a perfect breakfast bar. Nothing fancy, relatively affordable and cosy. We’ll come back when we return tot this lovely city!

I had a real pleasure staying in the Barbara Hotel. It is very well situated in Freiburg between center and train station. The hôtel staff was so friendly and helpful. A perfect place !

Very nice location. Room was good and staff was friendly. However, they offer no secure wifi. I could understand if it came with an extra fee, but no availability at all? I simply needed 10 minutes worth. A good place, this was a huge issue for me.

My husband and I went on a backpacking trip across Europe. We found this hotel and we're completely impressed. We were so tired and this place was exactly what we needed. The service was impeccable. The breakfast and coffee were what we needed to continue our travels. And the beds are extremely comfortable. Highly recommend.

Excellent location if working at the Federal archives. Tram stop outside of door, so old town also convenient. Bakery also outside door, with another 2 blocks away. And hotel stay includes card for public transportation. What's not to like? Very much enjoyed working stay at Green City Hotel.

Very comfortable hotel in the old city center. Delicious and ample breakfast, friendly and attentive staff. We have stayed here twice and would come back.

A very well located, traditional German inn. Our room was large and everything was very clean. The continental breakfast selection was good. Very nice fresh fruit, cheese, cold cuts and breads. Our room (number 15) was located on the ground floor with direct access into a small central courtyard that had seats and a small water feature.

Our dinners were delicious and we had a room to ourselves for 8 people. Wonderful experience. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone going to Freiburg, Germany

We really enjoyed this hotel!! It exceeded our expectations. All of the rooms were very nice and clean. The service was excellent. We especially enjoyed the wonderful breakfast we had every morning. It was the best breakfast of our entire trip. The hotel is centrally located and the parking for the car was easy to get to. Overall we highly recommend this hotel.

I was there with a group for lunch just before 12pm, after that you get overrun. 😅My pizza was super nice, thin crust and crispy. The prices are really good, the service friendly and quick.

Value for money absolutely ok. I felt the breakfast was much better than expected based on the reviews here. The rooms are functional but the bathroom was in poor condition. The mirror has never been wiped. The location in the industrial area does not inspire much confidence.

Had a room for three people. The sofa bed was uncomfortable, felt a bit more narrow than a typical twin bed. Location very convenient right across train station. Had to wait for room to get ready around 2pm check in. There could be more outlets in the room. The two on the desk isn’t enough, already used up by lamp and water boiler, no place to plug in more things. Weirdly the toilet has 2 outlets...

We stayed at this hotel for one night to break up a long journey. Novotels are always a guarantee of excellence. The structure is very beautiful, modern and elegant. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. I only recommend adding USB sockets. Maximum cleanliness. Very varied and delicious breakfast. Friendly and professional staff. I visited the restaurant many times and was never disappointed. Excellent quality food and service. Attention to detail. I feel truly valued as a patron. Even going for tea or coffee and sweets is an experience to truly enjoy. A reservation is recommended during busy times.

This hotel is amazing. It is old-fashioned in a modern way. The pool is fantastic, and the food is delicious. Hans, the bartender, was quite nice and made the stay ever better. The proximity to the old town is great as well. I highly recommend to all coming to Freiburg. It is truly worth the money. Just don’t come wearing a Bayern München jersey… we made that mistake.

Location 10/10 . So handy for taking trams or trains or just walking into the town. Stayed here 4 nights. Had a twin room with fridge. Small shower room but adequate and the shower was good. If only this hotel got rid of the horrible stained carpet in the room it would be perfect. We didn’t have breakfast - 21euros seemed a bit over the top when there are so many cafes nearby.

This hotel have a good area not faraway from train, bus station and food shop. Good service and good staff. This hotel also have elevator and fridge.

My husband and I stayed here during our stay in Freiberg. The hotel's location is very nice among the trees with a great view of the old town below. Nice semi-renovated city hotel close to the old town and the train station.

Our room was really comfortable, quite big, with a lot of light, the toilet spacious and the bed good enough to have a pleasant rest. About the location, perfect, not in the city center, but close. In the way that you are in 5 minutes in the cathedral, but without the noise of the tourism's.
