Amazing, modern and clean hotel. The staff was very helpful and professional from check-in to check-out. The location is great with Tram stop in front of hotel and many restaurants close by. Highly recommend this hotel.

The rooms ar very clean and neat. Everything you can expect from a very good hotel. I recommend them to expand the Menu though. It is kinda short and like let's say special or unusual maybe.. you might enjoy it but maybe not everyone on the table. Anyway, it is all in all very good! Not: please get a proper coffee machine for the rooms and get rid of this water boiler...

Very clean, new, and modern Hotel. The staff is very nice and friendly and the place is conveniently located in front of a tram stop. Parking is possible and cheap (12€/day). Two negatives: the air gets very dry at night, and the rooms are incredibly small.

It is my second time here and I will be back in October. The location is superb, rooms are comfortable and cosy and the service is really good.

Interior of the rooms is somewhat dated. Our room wasn’t cleaned properly. Hotel is situated directly next to the railway station, meaning location is great for travel and visiting the city center. But it can be noisy with windows open, not having airconditioning in the rooms.

I reccomend for upgrading your room to one with AC, they're bigger and the mini fridge is way more colder. In the regular once you still have a mini fridge which is great, it was the only hotel in our trip with a fridge. Excellent breakfast, and the location is great!

Had a room for three people. The sofa bed was uncomfortable, felt a bit more narrow than a typical twin bed. Location very convenient right across train station. Had to wait for room to get ready around 2pm check in. There could be more outlets in the room. We stayed at this hotel for one night to break up a long journey. Novotels are always a guarantee of excellence. The structure is very beautiful, modern and elegant. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. I only recommend adding USB sockets. Maximum cleanliness. Very varied and delicious breakfast. Friendly and professional staff. Had a lovely stay in this hotel. Great location, nice rooms and good facilities. However the best thing was the staff on reception. They were all so friendly. It makes such a big difference having people smile at you and say hi, each time you walk past. The lovely Katarina even helped us make a booking to a thermal spa, when we were having trouble. I stay about 5 nights in this hotel per year for some 4 years now. The hotel used to be very nice but as it is very often at full capacity, it is losing its niceness. The rooms aren't properly cleaned (see pictures) neither maintained (broken stuff not repaired, etc). The front desk are always nice and typical American standard costumer service. Way higher than any European owned hotels. They really serve the costumer well and great us as we are king and queen. The price is ok and the breakfast is great with variety of warm and cold food.

We had the perfect stay at this hotel while in Freiburg. We loved it so much that we even recommended it on our website. :) The staff is super friendly, the breakfast is good and they offered free drinks at the bar if you help save water by refusing the daily turn-down service if you don't really need it. The rooms were big and clean, the breakfast was also good, there is parking area for the hotel but you won't find a place if you got there late, you can park outside the hotel free from 19:00 until 10:00 Am so you need to move your car before 10 in the morning. Lovely hotel, we arrived on opening night, it felt like they were already very accustomed to receiving guests. Very family friendly: staff immediately rushed a chair for our one year old, they put a very good baby bed with cute covers in the room and the staff is super friendly. Loved the shower too.

An alright place close to the center. Looks a bit worn out and in the morning hours water in outlets tends to change randomly from cold to hot. I can recommend it, however without much enthusiasm.

A really lovely, reasonably priced hotel, right in the centre of town. Rooms overlooking the square tend to get some noise from late-night revellers, but this was not a serious problem for me. I would definitely stay here again, breakfast was excellent.

My stay in Am Rathaus hotel was excellent: very good reception, clean rooms, great breakfast ... only downside, I was surprised by extra charges (16 euros for 5 nights) for non alcoholic drinks that were offered in the mini- bar. But it is due to my ignorance: the welcome drinks are offered only on the arrival day, not all days!

I visited the restaurant many times and was never disappointed. Excellent quality food and service. Attention to detail. I feel truly valued as a patron. Even going for tea or coffee and sweets is an experience to truly enjoy. A reservation is recommended during busy times.

This hotel is amazing. It is old-fashioned in a modern way. The pool is fantastic, and the food is delicious. Hans, the bartender, was quite nice and made the stay ever better. The proximity to the old town is great as well. I highly recommend to all coming to Freiburg. It is truly worth the money. Just don’t come wearing a Bayern München jersey… we made that mistake.

Very Downton abbey-esque. Everyone is very polite and can't do enough to make your stay enjoyable. Rooms are beautifully decorated and make you feel like you're in a palace. Little pricey though.

Beautiful Central Hotel with Brilliant staff, excellent food, and great service. A short walk to the market, restaurants, and cafes, all of which are not too far away. The restaurant is just great! The food is tasty and service is great. The interior is fancy and stylish. The owner and his wife are serving and they do it properly and in time. The prices are quite decent. Ca 25 Euro per person for such food, service and ambient is almost nothing. I'd of course suggest to order a steak :) Not sure about the rooms but seems to be also awesome.

I visited this hotel twice this summer with my family and we just loved it! The location is fantastic - the view is wonderful. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the pool is small but not very crowded (at all) and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The only drawback is the breakfast. The view is great, the restaurant is amazing. Try the steak but ask for Sauce béarnaise! A little warning: they have very often staff in learning (Lehrlings). They can make some mistakes. Don't be made, just be prepared... For example they may not serve you to try the Vine and just serve everyone on the table. But it is fine.. the food is just brilliant. Enjoy it! 😊

Our room was really comfortable, quite big, with a lot of light, the toilet spacious and the bed good enough to have a pleasant rest. About the location, perfect, not in the city center, but close. In the way that you are in 5 minutes in the cathedral, but without the noise of the tourism's.

Fantastic service, stellar breakfast. The only thing I would have liked would have been better WiFi, but what can you do. If you're in Freiburg and are looking for a good place to stay near the city center, the Stadthotel is an excellent choice.

My room was clean. The bathroom was really smelly though (smelled like sewage). As far as my group was informed there was only one restroom (not counting the ones in the rooms obviously). Since we stayed here for a workshop this was pretty inconvenient.The surrounding area was okay-ish only a short walk to the city center.

Went for a two day business workshop. Hotel was chosen because we wanted to "get away from it all". Beautiful place, delicious food, excellent staff. Loses a star because even though there's aircon in the common areas, there's none in the actual hotel rooms. It was a warm evening and entering the room was like entering a sauna.

Really nice hotel! Perfect for relaxing weekend, with a thermal bath close by. The staff is really friendly, the rooms are very clean and quiet! The TV has a USB and a HDMI input, in case you want to bring your own movies. For eating I recommend the restaurant at the bath instead of the hotel, if you're looking for a slightly less fancy version. The food is very good in both places.

Authentic German atmosphere. Staff is friendly, breakfast is good. the room was a bit old fashioned but very clean. The closed position to the motorway to Basel (7/8 mins) makes this hotel a good point to stop for the night during long transfers.

Good hotel: modern and comfortable. If you arrive after 22 you have to do an online check in because there is no concierge on the night. Access to the rooms are allowed by a code. In my room (507) there was the carpet and it was not very good cleaned: I found long hair on it. Good shower. Poor breakfast at 8.50 euro: I have done it outside. Very unhelpful staff.

Small cozy hotel with good prices to sleep for one-two nights. We got a cozy small room, hairdryer and TV (was important at that moment to monitor news from Ukraine). The lady on the reception was super nice to us.

Clean room, good breakfast and free parking. From here you take buses and trains to many directions. The hotel is 23 minutes away from downtown Freiburg with the train, and 8 minutes by car.

Clean and basic hotel for spending a night. Not in a pitoresque neighboorhood but very good price quality hotel. Very warm and friendly staff. They helped us ( two adults and three kids) with limited options they had, to find a suitable room. We had the same (nice) experience in B&B hotel in Pisa (thanks to the kind attenetion Mrs Giulia).

Stayed here for two nights, nice room, top rate food, but both nights (even though specifically asked for the main restaurant) were placed in side room on our own. No real reason why...tables empty in the main restaurant. Would love to say I'll be back....but I won't. More atmosphere elsewhere at half the cost. And after our treatment 3* is being generous.

Customer service is great and the rooms are nice and quaint — very unlike American hotels. 10 min from downtown Freiburg and there is a bakery and a few restaurants just a few blocks from the hotel.

Very nice hotel, especially if you like the concept of sustainability the whole area is about. The only problem for me was that you cannot regulate the temperature in the room. I understand it is part of the design of the building, the staff very kindly explained to me that it has the same temperature all year round, but it was too cold for me. I would have preferred to know this in advance.
