Had a room for three people. The sofa bed was uncomfortable, felt a bit more narrow than a typical twin bed. Location very convenient right across train station. Had to wait for room to get ready around 2pm check in. There could be more outlets in the room. The two on the desk isn’t enough, already used up by lamp and water boiler, no place to plug in more things. Weirdly the toilet has 2 outlets...

Room felt dated and needed modernizing. No Usb ports only power and phone (?) sockets. Carpet felt thin and bathroom had no usable plug to fill basin. Shower good and usable. TV looked 5 yrs out of date. Avoid Booking.com because even though we clicked breakfast we never got it after the first night.Dinning hall spacious but staff not overly friendly. We stayed at this hotel for one night to break up a long journey. Novotels are always a guarantee of excellence. The structure is very beautiful, modern and elegant. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. I only recommend adding USB sockets. Maximum cleanliness. Very varied and delicious breakfast. Friendly and professional staff. The hotel also has a covered parking lot, for a fee. Recommended

Hard to understand how this hotel retains its 4 star rating. Hotel is well located near the train station and old town. Rooms are clean. However the facilities are very dated and the service is mediocre. Very unlike my experience in most Novotel for which I am a loyal brand follower

Arrived at 5 PM. The check-in process took 30 minutes even without a long line. room is ok, but small and definitely outdated. We did not have pillows or sheets for sofa bed. The rooms ar very clean and neat. Everything you can expect from a very good hotel. I recommend them to expand the Menu though. It is kinda short and like let's say special or unusual maybe.. you might enjoy it but maybe not everyone on the table. Anyway, it is all in all very good! Very clean, new, and modern Hotel. The staff is very nice and friendly and the place is conveniently located in front of a tram stop. Parking is possible and cheap (12€/day). Two negatives: the air gets very dry at night, and the rooms are incredibly small.

This hotel was wonderful!! I was in Freiburg with a group and we stayed here half the week. The rooms were extremely clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the staff was very kind and helpful. The Hotel Victoria is an energy leading hotel with solar panels and mini wind turbines on the roof. Definitely worth learning a bit about.

Lovely hotel with lovely helpful staff. Laura gave us a lot of help with advice on dinner reservations and spa tickets. Cecelia was lovely at breakfast time and made the best decaf coffee we had in Germany.

Cozy Hotel situated just 5 mins away from the bahnhof and about 7 minutes away from the altstadt. All the staff were friendly from the beginning. The beds were actually really comfortable and the rooms/bathrooms were well kept. Breakfast was pretty good. Small selection but good and fresh quality ingredients.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The location in Old Town was great. The breakfast was very hearty with lots of variety. We particularly enjoyed the Hundertwasser artwork on the walls leading up the stairs! Overall, we were satisfied with the experience and value.

The view is great, the restaurant is amazing. Try the steak but ask for Sauce béarnaise! A little warning: they have very often staff in learning (Lehrlings). They can make some mistakes. Don't be made, just be prepared... For example they may not serve you to try the Vine and just serve everyone on the table. But it is fine.. the food is just brilliant. Enjoy it! 😊

my first visit to the Hotel Oberkirch was in 1969 as a young child with my family. I've been going ever since. immediately across the square from the Münster, the Oberkirch is perfectly situated for those wanting to explore Freiburg. modern well appointed rooms, an excellent restaurant,!

This little gem of a hotel lies in the square surrounding the cathedral. Surrounded by restaurants and ice cream shops, it is convenient for a lovely day of strolling. My room was cozy and clean with an apple, a rose, and a comfortable bed. The proprietors were lovely and most helpful. I would gladly stay here again!

Great spot, friendly staff and above all: excellent gnocchi fully home made from scratch. To explain: I rarely finish my plate where ever I eat but this plate was empty within 20minutes (my husband and son were still eating) and that's saying something as I have an unclassified eating disorder. I HIGHLY recommend.

The restaurant staff was friendly and helpful, and multilingual which was very nice. The food is delicious, portions are great and prices are fair. I was even brought extra fries when they felt they didn't give me enough on my plate, which I didn't expect. It was a very nice gesture. Went for a two day business workshop. Hotel was chosen because we wanted to "get away from it all". Beautiful place, delicious food, excellent staff. Loses a star because even though there's aircon in the common areas, there's none in the actual hotel rooms. It was a warm evening and entering the room was like entering a sauna.

Really nice hotel! Perfect for relaxing weekend, with a thermal bath close by. The staff is really friendly, the rooms are very clean and quiet! The TV has a USB and a HDMI input, in case you want to bring your own movies. For eating I recommend the restaurant at the bath instead of the hotel, if you're looking for a slightly less fancy version. The food is very good in both places.

Stayed here for two nights, nice room, top rate food, but both nights (even though specifically asked for the main restaurant) were placed in side room on our own. No real reason why...tables empty in the main restaurant. Would love to say I'll be back....but I won't. More atmosphere elsewhere at half the cost. And after our treatment 3* is being generous.

Customer service is great and the rooms are nice and quaint — very unlike American hotels. 10 min from downtown Freiburg and there is a bakery and a few restaurants just a few blocks from the hotel.

Very nice staff, amazing outdoor swimming pool, rooms are sooo cozy and breakfast amazing. Perfect if you dont want to be staying in the center of the city but at the same time you want to be close enough. Next time in Freiburg I am definitely staying here again!

Location is ideal for old town. We stayed here after visiting Christmas markets in Basel and Colmar because my wife liked the idea of staying in a newly opened hotel. It does have a new, modern, feel and the rooms on the smaller side but big enough. Didn't have a chance to try the gym. There is no spa.

It was a nice hotel we had a terrace , you could sit outside. Good area it’s nice and quiet just a couple of minutes away from freiburg the city! Dogs are allowed , enough parking space ! Not expensive .. The bed are really soft though and it is pretty basic .. i liked my stay though !

Only visit it for its restaurant. Nothing special. A rather basic menu when considering the lovely specialities and high quality ingredients you can get in the area. It was rather empty, only three tables occupied, from which two where hotel guests. A little disappointing for a 4-star hotel restaurant.

A great place to look at Freiburg, as it is very central but quiet. We had a very spacious room with very good beds. The hotel consists of two buildings, the hotel and a building opposite that houses other rooms. The offered garage parking space was big enough, the staff was very friendly, everything was clean and modern and a good breakfast. So there is nothing wrong with it.

The hotel staff was very kind and accommodating. The breakfast and bar were great. However, there was no air conditioning and it was really hot. We later found out that rooms on the top floor had ac. Very tough to sleep in the heat.
