Nice clean new hotel. Walking distance to city center and train/tram station.

Location is ideal for old town. We stayed here after visiting Christmas markets in Basel and Colmar because my wife liked the idea of staying in a newly opened hotel. It does have a new, modern, feel and the rooms on the smaller side but big enough. Didn't have a chance to try the gym. There is no spa.

Very well located close to the center and cultural places. The room was really clean and quiet and the morning breakfast delicious with lots of choice. But German is spoken the most... some difficulties with English and no word in French.

Hotel room was modern and quiet. Had 344 which was located towards the courtyard and not the street Suggestions for future improvements: - Shower: water is coming out because it is missing a door or shower curtain. - Air conditioning/ ventilation can not be turned off. Arrived at 5 PM. The check-in process took 30 minutes even without a long line. room is ok, but small and definitely outdated. We did not have pillows or sheets for sofa bed. Hotel is central but loud. Outdated. Stayed for 3 days in the Premium Room with minibar consumption included and the refrigerator in the room did not function. Informed the staff and was not fixed even after we checked out. Sauna is not working either. Informed the staff every day for 3 days but no use. Breakfast is not that good, not worth the price.

I had a fantastic stay at Novotel Freiburg! The hotel room was impeccably clean and well-equipped, and the complimentary daily mini bar refill was a thoughtful touch. Booking a room for four people was a breeze, and the spacious accommodations exceeded our expectations. The overall experience was top-notch, making our stay truly enjoyable. This hotel is within reach of transport centres as well as close to the charming old town which houses decorated streets to stroll along with boutique stores as well as large stores . I visited this hotel twice this summer with my family and we just loved it! The location is fantastic - the view is wonderful. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the pool is small but not very crowded (at all) and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The only drawback is the breakfast. The view is great, the restaurant is amazing. Try the steak but ask for Sauce béarnaise! A little warning: they have very often staff in learning (Lehrlings). They can make some mistakes. Don't be made, just be prepared... For example they may not serve you to try the Vine and just serve everyone on the table. But it is fine.. the food is just brilliant. Enjoy it! 😊

The rooms ar very clean and neat. Everything you can expect from a very good hotel. I recommend them to expand the Menu though. It is kinda short and like let's say special or unusual maybe.. you might enjoy it but maybe not everyone on the table. Anyway, it is all in all very good! Not: please get a proper coffee machine for the rooms and get rid of this water boiler...

Very clean, new, and modern Hotel. The staff is very nice and friendly and the place is conveniently located in front of a tram stop. Parking is possible and cheap (12€/day). Two negatives: the air gets very dry at night, and the rooms are incredibly small.

Very close to Unilklinik . Clients clinics offer discounts. Service to the occasion. Clean. Great rich and varied Breakfast. Comfortable and without pathos.

Stayed here for two nights, nice room, top rate food, but both nights (even though specifically asked for the main restaurant) were placed in side room on our own. No real reason why...tables empty in the main restaurant. Would love to say I'll be back....but I won't. More atmosphere elsewhere at half the cost. And after our treatment 3* is being generous.

Customer service is great and the rooms are nice and quaint — very unlike American hotels. 10 min from downtown Freiburg and there is a bakery and a few restaurants just a few blocks from the hotel.

We stayed there for one night as our train was canceled, staff were very friendly and helpful, location is great, 2mins from Hbf. Rooms were well equipped and comfortable, breakfast was nice.

Normal hotel , good location

A very comfortable hotel. Lots of history, but with modern, well renovated rooms. Also, the excellent, atmospheric Hemmingway cocktail bar in the basement.

A good girl with lovely rooms and a good service from the staff. Breakfast had a good number of options and was of great quality. Small issue with regards to controlling the Aircon but otherwise a lovely room, clean and well provisioned. A great option of obviously the area.

my first visit to the Hotel Oberkirch was in 1969 as a young child with my family. I've been going ever since. immediately across the square from the Münster, the Oberkirch is perfectly situated for those wanting to explore Freiburg. modern well appointed rooms, an excellent restaurant,!

This little gem of a hotel lies in the square surrounding the cathedral. Surrounded by restaurants and ice cream shops, it is convenient for a lovely day of strolling. My room was cozy and clean with an apple, a rose, and a comfortable bed. The proprietors were lovely and most helpful. I would gladly stay here again!

Fantastic hotel in a stunningly beautiful location in the city with very helpful and friendly staff and a top-rate restaurant.

Great spot, friendly staff and above all: excellent gnocchi fully home made from scratch. To explain: I rarely finish my plate where ever I eat but this plate was empty within 20minutes (my husband and son were still eating) and that's saying something as I have an unclassified eating disorder. I HIGHLY recommend.

The restaurant staff was friendly and helpful, and multilingual which was very nice. The food is delicious, portions are great and prices are fair. I was even brought extra fries when they felt they didn't give me enough on my plate, which I didn't expect. It was a very nice gesture. Additionally, the location is great and right next to the cathedral.

super clean and tidy, everything functions well, good amount of cutlery, check in is easy and you get a pair of keys, different locations, affordable.

Nice spacious apartments with good facilities. Also very clean and located a stones throw from the city centre. Parking on premise and entry is via key codes. Staff are responsive and check in process was relatively easy. The only drawback is no elevator so if you have a room on the 4th floor and big bags then you have a real challenge getting your bags upstairs to your room. Would stay here again...

Authentic German atmosphere. Staff is friendly, breakfast is good. the room was a bit old fashioned but very clean. The closed position to the motorway to Basel (7/8 mins) makes this hotel a good point to stop for the night during long transfers.

Lovely place for a high quality, traditionally served meal. Eating outside under an old tree and enjoying a good glass of local wine is a wonderful experience. Great service, super kind staff. Strongly recommended.

A great place to look at Freiburg, as it is very central but quiet. We had a very spacious room with very good beds. The hotel consists of two buildings, the hotel and a building opposite that houses other rooms. The offered garage parking space was big enough, the staff was very friendly, everything was clean and modern and a good breakfast. So there is nothing wrong with it.

Very nice and call hotel close to the city center

The hotel staff was very kind and accommodating. The breakfast and bar were great. However, there was no air conditioning and it was really hot. We later found out that rooms on the top floor had ac. Very tough to sleep in the heat.

We enjoyed our stay here over December 2016. The only drawback was that our bathroom was not en suite, definitely not a deal breaker. Well located to walk to all the sights and shops.

It was a nice hotel we had a terrace , you could sit outside. Good area it’s nice and quiet just a couple of minutes away from freiburg the city! Dogs are allowed , enough parking space ! Not expensive .. The bed are really soft though and it is pretty basic .. i liked my stay though !

Only visit it for its restaurant. Nothing special. A rather basic menu when considering the lovely specialities and high quality ingredients you can get in the area. It was rather empty, only three tables occupied, from which two where hotel guests. A little disappointing for a 4-star hotel restaurant.

Went for a two day business workshop. Hotel was chosen because we wanted to "get away from it all". Beautiful place, delicious food, excellent staff. Loses a star because even though there's aircon in the common areas, there's none in the actual hotel rooms. It was a warm evening and entering the room was like entering a sauna.

Really nice hotel! Perfect for relaxing weekend, with a thermal bath close by. The staff is really friendly, the rooms are very clean and quiet! The TV has a USB and a HDMI input, in case you want to bring your own movies. For eating I recommend the restaurant at the bath instead of the hotel, if you're looking for a slightly less fancy version. The food is very good in both places.
