Hotels in Hohnstein

I was there with my son for a weekend last summer. The staff is super nice, very helpful (I am blind) and on request also tips on excursions, hiking trails and so on. The hotel is very clean and the food tastes delicious too. Even a massage we could treat ourselves on Sunday, which was very relaxing. We can only recommend this hotel and look forward to returning again.

Beauty area was too nice. We had a pure romance arrangement, which I highly recommend. The highlight was our bath in the tub with light and music, in which the time has passed by in the air. :) Our 4 course meal was delicious. Thanks to the kitchen and the service staff. Went for dinner there. Got Gulasch and Apfelstrudel both were extraordinary. Service was good. Would definitely recommend and we will visit next time when we go to Hohnstein. Location is great too,right opposite to Burg Hohnstein.

The staff was very kind. The service was very good. I enjoyed breakfast and also dinner. They have a very nice terrace. I had a room on the top floor of the hotel. It was next to the church tower. The clocks started to make noise early in the morning.

Location is in the center of the little town, place is beautiful almost at the entrance of the castle but the food is not delicious, below average 👎

The rooms were comfortable, but can be improved. The staff was very unfriendly and the restaurant was supposed to be open at 15:00, but I couldn't find anyone there. Go somewhere else if you can.

I wanted to be a bit off the beaten track and what could be better than Saxon Switzerland. We arrived in the dark, searching for the room using a numeric code would be child's play. The best breakfast was a hit. Everything about eggs, cornflakes in different variations, fresh juice, very good coffee, fresh different rolls that really tasted. You have to get used to the road, otherwise really nice landlord...

We slept and it was clean, but very simple, no hair dryer, roller blinds, especially in the bathroom, would be great, be careful: no restaurant open. Take care of dinner beforehand. Breakfast was ok. Nice personel. Expandable

Especially nice, courteous host who really did everything to make us feel comfortable. And we have that immediately. The apartments were newly furnished and perfectly fine and clean. Gladly again!

Like a youth hostel, but within a huge building existing since the fourteenth century. Excellent views and all doors are open, to the castle garden, the tower and the historic museum. Prices are very reasonable. Four people one might with buffet breakfast and dinner 132 EUR. Including bed linen. All very well organised, clean and spacious. Beautiful town with great hiking routes. Castle is nice and well maintained, but is a functioning hotel and youth camp, so many areas are private. I imagine starting as a guest is quite an experience though.

Absolutely fantastic place. Magnificent hilltop citadel in the midst of a charming medieval village with beautiful distant mountain views. ReallyRecommended for a daytrip if you're visiting Dresden.

Fantastic location with some great nearby lookouts. The rooms are fresh and really nicely appointed with a good little kitchenette and a balcony. We were very comfortable there. The terrace is a good place to lunch and the atmosphere in the restaurant is very cozy and the food is good.

You get to have an amazing view of the entire region from here. It's a quite far from most of the attractions but the view is worth it.

It‘s a nice 45 min’s walk from Hohnstein to that restaurant. The view is breathtaking and it‘s therefore called the terrace of the saxon switzerland and that‘s a very good description of that beautiful place. The ‚Hafersäcke‘ - a rock formation that looks like several oat sacks is near by. The restaurant itself offers good food for hungry hikers and you can stay overnight. Reservation is recommended...

Decent place for a quick stop after a walk. Food was generic, service was OK. Atmosphere was quite cozy. Prices relatively high.

Very nice room with a renovated bathroom. Great location and the sauna is great after a long day of hiking taking one of many trails is the surrounding area. A comment for foreigners, the saunas are mixed and full nudity, which is common for Germany. The breakfast buffet was excellent however the restaurant only average, we ended up eating dinner at other close by places instead of at the hotel.

We were there for lunch before the hiking and for a coffee after the hiking. The mushrooms were delicious and the Cappuccino as well. Good quality food.

Went here for a conference ages ago. It was excellent: people are professional and very helpful. Rooms are good, too. It is nice and quute even though it is located next to the main tourist route to Bastei. Returned last weekend for a hiking tour. Had a coffee at this place and it has not changed. Everybody is very polite, pofessional and busily working to fulfill your needs.

The food at the restaurant was exactly what I needed after a tiring hike. The staff was very courteous and helpful (as long as you could get their attention), when I expressed concern over not having tasted crayfish before, they brought me some before they prepared the meal.

We didn't stay at the hotel but we did eat at the restaurant. The server spoke great English, was quick, and kept checking on us. The location was good because it was right by a boat, people would take to go hiking. So, you could get a sweet treat right after hiking. Or a delicious meal. It was so cool because there was a robot that served your food to you. The food was delicious. We got desserts....

We were very pleased with our stay. The location is great for excursions around the region. The hotel restaurant is great and the rooms as well as the wellness center are clean and cozy. Small flaws in the hotel are more a matter of taste, so not relevant here, but: the fitness room could be loved more :)

Ideal structure as a starting point for walks in the surrounding area. Large and clean room. Leave the car on the other side of the Elbe and reach the hotel by boat.

Beautiful Hotel with all the amenities but very unfriendly staff upon arrival you will be sharply addressed to the Desk, the man is not stupid signs to read, and furthermore, the renovation of jam at the Wallpaper in the corridors, in part, breakdown, furniture scratched and... last point, no Parking 200 meters to the hotel with suitcases run you need to ca or a ferry ride cost to get to a... conclusion...

A nice guest house in the Saxony area. It's a few minutes away from Bastei bridge and other sites. The owners are friendly and happy to serve you cold fresh beer after a long day of hiking. The rooms are old but comfortable. You'll experience a nice homey welcome in this place. The meals, drinks and rooms are fairly priced.

A small family run hotel. Due to the location in the valley, there is no longer any direct sun in the evenings and (in June) it was relatively cool in the evenings. What I saw as an absolute plus on vacation, however, because the rooms don't heat up that much, you can open the windows in the evenings on hot days and ultimately sleep at a pleasant room temperature. This is a great location to start trekking tours if you do not have a car. All public transport possibilities has stops at the hotel. You also reach central Bad Schandau in 20 Minutes on foot if you need to catch a ferry over Elbe. Hotel rooms are simple and not for people who wants luxury. The service is excellent and the management is more than willing to explain the myriad of trekking possibilities...

I can't understand some of the negative reviews. Our room (101), downstairs in the entrance area, was large and had everything you need. The view wasn't ideal (wall of the house) but whoever spends the night in Bad Schandau is out and about during the day anyway. The breakfast included everything as advertised (Wanderlust breakfast) and was more than adequate! The staff was helpful and friendly! ...

We have had a comfortable room,with very comfortable beds and a small bathroom. The front Desk was very polite and courteous and the Breakfast more than ample. However, the price( 87€ incl. Tourist tax,of which 16€!!! the Breakfast accounted for) for an Overnight stay but very steep.

Close to the bus stop for the kirnitzsch valley railway, this small Gasthof is with the us small rooms. But good food and a very friendly service. All in all, you can recommend this house to other people. It is, unfortunately, on the main road into the national Park and in the rooms on the street side it could with the window open in the summer, the one or other disturb.

Actually should be 4,5 or a but more. Solid quality food with a great service and some nice selection of Czech beer. We enjoyed two very nice meals here and would recommend the place. The best thing we ate and drunk in Bad Schandau came from Czech Republic.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Wonderful views. The staff are beyond friendly and professional. The rooms are tip-top and Jessica is the most beautiful woman in all of Germany. This is the place to choose for a short stay or a long stay. If we ever come back to Bad Schandau we would 100% stay here again.
