Very nice staff. Nice breakfast buffet. Delicious dinner. Great location. Many hiking trails / destinations right outside the door. Also nice, right next door, you can learn to carve.

I felt very well. The food tastes delicious like at mother's home. The rooms are small but nice. If you like hiking or cycling, this hotel is in the right place.

Slept here on our way north. Clean room, but mattresses really not the best. Breakfast was over standard compared to what you can expect in this price class. We were positively surprised. Check in was smooth and a nice and helpful receptionist. Place is acceptable for a quick stop over!

Clean, homely, and peaceful. The breakfast was great, plentiful, and diverse. Compared to the price, it was completely worth it.

This is a standard German 3-star hotel. Price is moderate, but the room is clean with furniture in good condition. Parking space is abundantly available, breakfast acceptable, free WiFi very fast. Other than being in Ilmenau - which isn't quite a hot spot - I can't fault this hotel for anything really. If you need to stay in town overnight, book here and you sure won't regret it.

I guess, the best place to stay in Ilmenau. Perfectly located. Nice facilities. Super comfortable bed. Perfect breakfast! There is also a parking (5€ for a day), but if you are lucky enough you could take a spot in front of the entrance, which is free at the weekend.

Very nice little hotel not far from the church. Very clean and well-kept rooms. The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. The staff is friendly and helpful. We used the hotel as a base for our two-day BUGA visit to Erfurt, about 35 minutes by car from the hotel.

The bed is a little narrower. I have the feeling that as a holidaymaker you are not in such good hands. Business people or fitters leave the house pretty quickly. Vacationers like to sleep a little longer and you have the feeling you should leave the house quickly and have breakfast early so that it can be cleared and cleaned. Sorry, otherwise very nice and great breakfast.

It is very near to bhanhof and is in the city centre. People are also nice and not so much expensive also. Overall looks good. Rooms are big and beautiful.

A very nice holiday home for 2 people and a dog. The landlords are very friendly. There you can enjoy peace and quiet if you want to. It is definitely recommended.

We spent a week in the cottage. We liked it very much. The Kahl family is very friendly, the cottage is simple and very clean. A perfect base for long hikes for two people and a small dog. Highly Recommended.

Highly recommend this gem of a hotel which sits on the edge of a stunning pine forest. Lady in reception spoke limited English but went out of her way to assist us and make sure we had an enjoyable stay. The breakfast was simple but very tasty and fresh. Good coffee!

Were there with a biker group. The rooms are simple, but perfectly adequate and very clean and tidy. In terms of price, you absolutely cannot complain. The owner is really interested in the well-being of his guests and tries to make a lot possible. Food (half board) was excellent. Very relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Super nice area. We will definitely be back!

Our stay was very nice, you feel welcome and you get everything you need. Our highlight (besides the great host) was the shoe dryer :). The room was clean and comfortable enough, local tips were free, and breakfast was a great way to start the day. So saying goodbye to the Thuringian Forest was a bit difficult, but the memory is saved. So, the bottom line: you can stay well there.

The hotel is a bit dated from the outside, the staff is very courteous and friendly and helpful. A very nice swimming pool with a warm temperature invites you to swim. There were three of us on the Rennsteig and we arrived relatively late and were immediately welcomed with open arms and a very warm welcome. The food and hospitality were very, very good.

We were at a family celebration in an extra large room for events in the hotel which is right on the Rennsteig. Outstanding hot and cold buffet, every extra request was catered for. A great getaway stay for some quiet in the mountain forest. It was full of snow and fog when we stayed there but even then, we could see that it would be beautiful in summer. We spent one night in the “Zum Gründle” hotel in the Jägersuite and were very satisfied. It is very clean and decorated to match the theme. We had booked an apartment, which of course was great in terms of size. The bathroom was newly renovated, the middle room was used by our daughter. In general, the stay was successful. The staff speaks little English. There was one incident at a children's attraction. The animator couldn't take control. Parents and grandparents took over and as a result my children were made to cry three times. It was sad.

Nice hotel with many mini-golf tracks. We enjoyed our stay in one of the apartments (not in the main building). The kitchen is practical for preparing simple foods, with a 4-burner electric stove, an oven, a microwave and a mini fridge. But there is no dish washer, nor kitchen towel or oven glove.

Wunderful short trip in the winterwunderland. We rented two of the holiday homes. They were very beautiful and clean with a lot of space for all our friends. We did some bowling in the sporthotel and it was no problem to rent a sledge for our baby. We can recommend this Hotel and the holiday homes to other guest's a lot.
