Where to stay in Meissen

Very modern and clean hotel with nice comfortable rooms. Back of hotel has a large greenspace on the Elbe River with a fantastic view of Albrechtsburg Castle. Breakfast had many options and worth the extra cost. I've only rated it 4 stars because I could not get the room with a view that I had paid for because of ongoing construction. They did provide free parking as compensation but I may have switched...

The staff and room were very nice. The location is perfect for visiting Meißen. Breakfast buffet has everything one would want. We would definitely return here on another trip.

Inconspicuous from the outside, the location is very convenient, the train station is right opposite. We recommend a room facing the courtyard as it is much quieter. Bathroom is modern and very thoughtfully designed. The breakfast was ok, could be a little more varied.

Beautiful renovated rooms and breakfast room. Unfortunately there is no soundproofing in the rooms facing the street. Truck drives straight through. :) Breakfast is OK. Check-in via key box. The facade of the building next door seems rather intimidating, but pleasantly surprising! My single room felt like it was 1.8 m wide but was already furnished. Bathroom was great too. Breakfast buffet was more than sufficient for me, fried eggs available to order. I'd love to come back

Hotel is directly opposite the train station. The walk to the old town is 15 minutes. The rooms are modern and tastefully furnished. We had a room facing the courtyard, which was very quiet. The breakfast was of very good quality. We'll definitely come back.

Lovely, warming place with great location.

We visited only the restaurant. It was great food, comforting service and really good prices. We paid for our 2 meals (haxn and Leberkäse) on haxnday below than 30€ for food and drinks 👌👌 Although nice was the scenery and that the waitresses were wearing Trachten.

The restaurant is excellent. "Meissner Schwerter" beer is the best, it is from the oldest private brewery from Saxony, over 450 years old. The food is traditional and the service very nice, fast and friendly. You eat and drink good and feel the history.

We like that this historic was rescued from decay by an extensive renovation in the mid 1990's. We loved having a bath tub as well as a shower. We loved the big comfortable bed. Stayed just for night on the way to Berlin. The hotel is right in the center of the city- we had issue finding a way to drive close to it, in the end we parked few minutes walk which was okay for us. Room was very nice, spacious and clean. Had everything one needed. We had an issue to get into the hotel as we arrived late- apparently there is no one in the hotel after 18 which is not mentioned anywhere...

Although hidden at the square the hotel is a gem among hotels. Meissen is a film set for historical movies. If you find it hard to find a proper hotel in Dresden, I recommend Meissen at a half hour by train, especially if you like porcelain

Very nicely located hotel The hotel is perfectly located, we had lovely afternoon walking in the Old part of Meisses. The bed is comfortable. The only detail that can be easyly improve is to give a complimentary bottle of water in the room. There is nor coffee machine or kettle so at least a bottle of water would be welcome. The city of Meißen was wonderful - picturesque and peaceful. And the Hotel Residenz am Markt was in the perfect location next to the Frauenkirche with its porcelain bells. Our room and the bathroom are relatively large, and according to the Meissner ambience enchanting. Altstadt is just magical at Night. Walk down from the Burgkeller to the Markt and look back to the Dom - it is as you were in a movie As I was only for one night stay I cannot comment too much on the service, except I was greeted with a glass of bubbles and on leaving I was present with homemade cookies. All in all I loved my stay and will be back with friends

Didn't actually stay here but did visit the hotel prior to visiting the Dom. The staff were absolutely and welcoming and the coffee was great. As a visitor to the hotel it was a lovely experience and I can only assume that people staying there enjoy it even more. Thank you for your delightful kitchen and service staff

Went to the restaurant as part of evening event organised by Silicon Saxony. The food was good, all the arrangements were nice and proper. The restaurant ambiance and view is really great. Me and my colleagues really enjoyed the evening there.

Very nice hotel on top of the Burg with elevator access from the cheap parking. Amazing views from the terrace. The rooms where a pleasant surprise. Quite luxurious for the price. It was nice. Kind of out in the middle of nowhere. Very small village with nothing to do but walk around the neighborhood. There is a Biergarten within 2-3 miles. There is also an interesting pond with lots of water Lilies and these strange "frogs" that sound like aliens. If you don't sleep well and like the windows open at night, they may drive you crazy.

I would say it’s average. Fairly clean, meanwhile very old. Distance between lobby and your room is quite a journey specially when you have a baby carriage. The place is not baby or toddler friendly. The rooms and the hotel itself are quite nice. The campus is well groomed as well. What is not okay, however, is the signage. I arrived in the middle of the night and there is no conspicuous sign whatsoever pointing out the City Hotel. When you go to the location of the hotel on Google Maps you arrive at a building which is apparently part of the hotel but there is no reference to the City Hotel there...

Large comfortable rooms - and - WHAT a great Pool Area (extra cost).

The hotel must have a long history, with heavy copper keys, a nice environment, and a fountain.

The hotel is really good, with good kitchen, in a peaceful, nice neighborhood. Rooms are a bit old fashioned, you get a key and not a keycard at the reception, but they are also nice and clean. Only two things that I think would help make the experience even better: Charging stations in the garage and USB or power plug next to the bed for phone charging.

There are ants in the room on the first floor of the villa. The environment is beautiful, the breakfast is good, the swimming fee is 5 euros per person, and the children are half price. Parking is charged. Don't be together like a stranger

I found the hotel quiet and clean. The staff was friendly and well trained, the breakfast was also very good. The spa area was welcoming and worth a visit. The city of Dresden can be reached by S-Bahn or bus, both the station and the bus stop are within walking distance. I slept very well and I left with a good impression.

Good rooms very tidy, clean and comfortable beds, besides the pull out bed, good kitchen with reasonable prices, beautiful and stunning surrounding area with a lot of Forrest and sights. However the staff is harsher than you might be used to, sometimes appearing unfriendly, that is nothing particularly special in this part of Germany, though. Definitely worth a visit!

A beautiful Hotel in the middle of the forest. For large functions and events. The rooms are on the ground floor and the first floor. Unfortunately the Elevator is missing. Budget hotel. It works for the price - however no A/C, subpar location, and 11 euros per person for breakfast kills it. Bar/restaraunt wasn't open the night we stayed. Parking costs 5 euro, and it is a locked garage - however parking on streets are free and apparently easy to find.

This place is amazing!! We left Holland to support Ukraine with food, clothing and medicin. After allmost e days of barelly sleeping we arrived here 5:30AM. We could sleep untill 12 and leave at one and still pay for only one night. This is the we needed. The rooms are worn out. The carpets are old. The beds are only made briefly every two days, nothing else.

Overall good Overall, the room was a bit dated, but it was clean, albeit rather small, especially in the bathroom. The stains on the hallway carpet don't indicate recent soiling, but rather indicate that it could use some renovation. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, making the stay pleasant.

Hotel Windsor is supplying the Essentials, clean - room, big beds, big bath room (for double), good breakfast. It is Not a sparkling fancy hotel, but certainly ok for an over night stay if you want or Need to Budget. Staff Was friendly and helpful

It was great to be able to book and pay at the property, the location was reasonable, there was ample parking, the beds were comfortable, and there was a fridge in the room. However, the room was very hot, and I could not find any air conditioning.

This hotel is conveniently located if you travel by car and has a parking area on the premises. The rooms are Proper and very very clean. The staff is kind and goes the extra mile. The breakfast is very complete and won’t let you start they day with an empty stomach.

Hotel is located 20mins from old town. There is bus stop just outside the building as well as free parking. Hotel accepts dogs with additional fee 10€ per day. There are not many shops or bars/restaurants close to the hotel. Room was clear and beds are really comfortable, however there is a little too dark in both main room and bathroom.

We stayed at the hotel for 5 days and were happy with our choice. The hotel is circa 15 minutes from the centre of Dresden via street tram. The tram stop is a maximum 2 minutes walk from the hotel entrance. Our room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet was very good and varied. The staff were both helpful and friendly. For our next trip to Dresden we will try to book this hotel again.

The Nudelpfanne was one of the best dishes I ever ate in my life! (ordered it without peppers, which wasn't a problem) We also had the Hexenhausteller, which was also really nice. Service was good.

We're fairly experienced travelers in Germany, and the Hexenhaus now ranks as our favorite all time Pension. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and sunny. The garden setting was relaxing. The breakfasts offered a wide, tasty selection--and were remarkably inexpensive. The staff was friendly and helpful. And the Pension itself was quite convenient to main roads into the city.

Decent place for decent price. Entrance is clear, parking premises are nearby (in the public street). Our apartment had no kitchen, nor any of it's appliances 😐 we would made ourselves some coffee, at least. And I hate mono bedsheets (the ones that are only for one person and doesn't cover you enough if you are constantly moving around yourself in the bed), but that is just me. A huge bathroom! 🙂
