Worth the stay Such a quaint place to stay. It was such a beautiful view of the Alps and the city of Mittenwald. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. Highly recommend!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Gröblalm. We come to this area fairly frequently for skiing in and around Garmisch, although this was the first time we'd stayed in Mittenwald as a base. For skiers; The Gröblalm has a ski cellar - we didn't use it - we just leave skis in the car. Superb stay at this hotel. Room was extremely comfortable, clean and with a great view. Staff were friendly and food was absolutely superb. We usually eat out in the evening but stayed in most nights instead to eat. The hotel is in a location where it’s possible to start many walks. All are well signposted. One of the best places I've ever stayed at.

I've stayed here 3 times and would definitely return. It is well located, the rooms are spacious(last time I stayed in a single room and even this one was good size), well appointed, clean, bright. Breakfast isn't very varied but that for me isn't an issue as it had what I would normally eat anyway and good quality, fresh.

Really Quiet, a wonderful place

I was in Mittenwald for on night, as a brake between hikes. I’ve loved my time in this hotel. Room was very comfortable, breakfast was good. They have provided me also with AlpinCard, that gave some discounts in the facilities including free public transport ticket. Just a small recommendation to explore local cable cars. You can also climb Kranzberg hill to watch sunset.

We were only in Mittenwald for one night, but the Hotel Rieger was outstanding. Friendly, helpful front desk staff, clean and spacious rooms, and delicious breakfast with tons of options. The free afternoon cake and coffee was great too. Would stay here again in a heartbeat and hope to return to spend more time in Mittenwald in the future.

The hotel is nice and the staff very friendly. The hotel can do with a renovation as the room decor and furnishings are somewhat dated, however you will still be comfortable and have a good stay. The pool was quite nice, but you can expect it to be noisy with kids. Not much of a view from the pool in the Keller. Remember to bring your own house shoes to go swimming. You just feel good here! We were in "high flight". You really have everything you need and a nice balcony. Everything is very clean. The hosts are super nice and welcoming. You have great conversations and get good tips. Needless to say, the breakfast is world class. If we go back to the area we will definitely come back here!

Very nice hiking trails directly from the accommodation, restaurants are nearby and you get a list of which ones are open on which days. Rooms were very nice and clean and had a very nice view. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will go there again next time

The hotel was good with a balcony giving a beautiful view on the mountains. At arrival a booklet was received with many walking trails, several ware easy to reach walking from the hotel. Many others could be reached by car or by bus with short distances. A daily diner was available for 5 out of 7 days for guests of the hotel only, with very reasonable prices.

What a great little hotel! Beautiful views, well appointed room. Very spacious, especially for European hotels. Memory foam mattress. Parking lot large enough to park a large SUV. We had a family room with a king bed and 2 twins with plenty of space to move around and stow our luggage.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. Driving in we were greater by Barbara who asked us to meet her in the restaurant. We checked in there and made our dinner reservations. We sent to our room, in a separate building. Walking into the room was like walking into a Time Machine. The air smelled of cedar wood. The family that owns the place give amazing hospitality.

They always greeted me by my first name, offered safe and homely atmosphere in the most traditional and cozy Bavarian guesthouse. The hotel has an indoor pool, dry sauna, and daily breakfast. The staff were wonderful. The location is also great, near the center of town. We had a short walk into Garmisch each evening for dinner and/or drinks and as we drove it was centrally located to sites we wanted to see. We stayed here for two nights and absolutely loved it. The house and the yard are stunning. The rooms are clean and fresh. Breakfast was delicious. The space is walking distance to the Partnach Gorge and the downtown area. We cannot wait to go back!

The final stop on our holiday & a characterful Hotel to finish in. Set off a quiet Street in Grainau this small well placed hotel was a pleasure to stay in. Breakfasts eaten in the garden were absolutely superb, we were just sorry not to be on 1/2 board to enjoy the suppers too(but there are plenty of good restaurants within walking distance) !
