Where to stay in Mittenwald

Super friendly hotel offering a fabulous breakfast. The views from the spacious balcony are quite stunning. (Pic). Very welcoming atmosphere and spotlessly clean. Excellent value for money. I would definitely book this accommodation again in Mittenwald.

One of the best places I've ever stayed at.

I've stayed here 3 times and would definitely return. It is well located, the rooms are spacious(last time I stayed in a single room and even this one was good size), well appointed, clean, bright. Breakfast isn't very varied but that for me isn't an issue as it had what I would normally eat anyway and good quality, fresh.

Fantastic stay, staff is extremely nice and helpful. Hotel is a very short walk to Obermarkt and about 10 min from Karwendelbahn.

We have been guest at this hotel for 7 times and even this year despite COVID-19, we are planning to return to this wonderful location. Rooms are large, very clean and well maintained. We had a room with a big terrace facing south. The hotel is very quiet and has a cozy atmosphere.

When you visit Mittenwald, you just have to try a Riesenwindbeuttel here. And yes they are HUGE and very filling.

If you only came here for the views, you certainly wouldn’t be disappointed, but may need oxygen. Ask for the menu, and you’ll think it’s Christmas whatever time of year you did: memorable dishes; signature desserts; every cake a ‘birthday’ treat and perfect service. Have only eaten here, but the rooms and package deals look luxurious. Restaurant is amazing. Servers are friendly and fast. Food is great. Outside terrace seating has spectacular views of the valley below. Plenty of free parking available and hikes nearby if you need to walk off a few of your tasty morsels.

Without ifs and buts to be recommended. The service is great and the family atmosphere is perfect. You really try so hard that the guests are fine. My first address in Mittenwald. The location and the view from the terrace / balcony just fantastic. You are in town in 3 minutes, everything is within walking distance.

Excellent stay at Gastehaus Sonneheim!!! Staying here was absolutely perfect, from the cozy rooms, to the lovely views, and the delicious breakfast served every morning. The staff were very friendly too! We just wished we had stayed here longer because it was just so nice. Next time we are in Mittenwald, we will definitely be staying at Gastehaus Sonneheim again!!

Initially we chose this guest house due to the location close to the train station. We were very pleased with our stay. We got a top floor room with twin beds. It was more like an apartment having a bedroom area, living area with table, bathroom, and private balcony. The typical German breakfast was very good. It was an easy walk to everything in town. We would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast was lovely, the staff friendly. Excellent location right in the middle of town . Great views of the mountain from our balcony. The only downside was that we roasted over night with their winter blankets on.

My wife and I had one of our best vacations at the Bäckeralm. We were lovingly received, lovingly hosted. At breakfast every wish was fulfilled. The room was very comfortable, the bed excellent and the view upon waking was priceless. We'll definitely be back.

The rooms are nicely furnished and from the terrace/balcony you have a wonderful view of the Karwendel. The breakfast tastes good and our wishes were taken care of. We absolutely loved our stay at Gästehaus Edlhuber. We walked there from the train station without a problem, and our host was very friendly and flexible the whole time. And the room! A gorgeous view of the mountains, spacious and with a huge and very comfortable bed, beautiful wood furniture and fixtures, and a very nice and recently remodeled bathroom. I cannot describe how well looked after we felt there. First of all, I noticed the super clean room with the great view of the Karwendel. We were warmly received and greeted. I was in Mittenwald for on night, as a brake between hikes. I’ve loved my time in this hotel. Room was very comfortable, breakfast was good. They have provided me also with AlpinCard, that gave some discounts in the facilities including free public transport ticket. Just a small recommendation to explore local cable cars. You can also climb Kranzberg hill to watch sunset.

We were only in Mittenwald for one night, but the Hotel Rieger was outstanding. Friendly, helpful front desk staff, clean and spacious rooms, and delicious breakfast with tons of options. The free afternoon cake and coffee was great too. Would stay here again in a heartbeat and hope to return to spend more time in Mittenwald in the future.

The hotel is nice and the staff very friendly. The hotel can do with a renovation as the room decor and furnishings are somewhat dated, however you will still be comfortable and have a good stay. The pool was quite nice, but you can expect it to be noisy with kids. Not much of a view from the pool in the Keller. Remember to bring your own house shoes to go swimming. An excellent location as a good starting point for hikes, bike rides or to walk through the small village. The apartment was clean and the hostess was very friendly. Chickens live on the farm, so you could get fresh eggs. We felt completely comfortable and would love to come back!

The view of the Karwendel mountains is breathtaking. You can relax well, since the house is slightly above the village. Hiking trails are very possible from the accommodation and you are welcome to leave the car at home. Ms. Gerlach is characterized by her composure and willingness to help.

Spacious, clean and complete set of kitchen, not too far mittenwald train station and from the kranzberg sesselift for ski and sledging!

A super guest mistress with two cute dogs. In the apartment there was nothing missing. The location was perfect. Quickly in the city, but also fast on the trails. The car was able to be calmed down. We will come back!

Very nice, small, family-run Hotel. You are making very effort that, for the holiday of luck, nothing is missing. You will receive a warm welcome with a welcome drink. The Spa area is very stylish. The Hotel is centrally located in the middle of the forest. We have us felt very comfortable and our next holiday will be spend in the middle of the forest again in the Bichlerhof.
