Just your average affordable hotel with a pool. Too many guests , working class and students on tour when I checked in . Front desk staff not friendly or hospitable enough. Including staff in the restaurant /bar . Your "to go food " comes with the tray you need to carry on your own to your room , they say thats how they serve food for take out to your room and nobody to offer a hand even if you have...

Huge hotel, easy parking, location was ok, building and rooms getting old, but all was clean! Restaurant was very good! And breakfast had a very good selection - hot & cold.

The room was clean and very quiet. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. The quality of the food in the restaurant was also good.

The three bedroom was very small, the beds were ok, the bathroom was a bit outdated but functioned properly. The breakfast was good, lots of choice, the staff was very helpful. The pool was average, a bit cold. The junior suite was very good.

Friendly welcome, clean comfortable rooms with sparkling water. Well payed out family adjoining rooms. Nice gym/poil area. Only downside was quite a bit of hair in the pool water. Breakfast was fantastic.

Very clean hotel, the service is astonishing and friendly. The breakfast is has a lot of choice of food, and even more. It’s also very safe since you can’t enter the hotel without a key card. I am impressed.

Good hotel to stay in. Missing some basic amenities but could be asked at service desk. Next to Oberhausen Centro shopping centre and busses to central is just walking distance.

More like a 3 star hotel rather than 4. Basic necessities like a 3 star would have. Parking could’ve been inclusive just for hotel guests since it’s a 4 star as well. Location is great since it’s right next to the biggest mall in Europe!

The rooms are clean but quite simple, making it feel more like a budget hotel rather than the four-star accommodation it claims to be.

Nice hotel in Oberhausen, close to the city center with a large mall, night life, and lots of restaurants and bars. Hotel is nice, friendly staff. On site parking is availale for an additional € 15.- per night per car; breakfast buffet is optional for € 20,- The room was clean with a nice spacious shower. The airconditioning did not work.

The breakfast was good .location is perfect, just 2 mins walk to Centro mall and the winter market. Rooms are perfect and staff is very friendly .I think this is the first hotel where I saw the environment's sustainable goals implemented. Definitely visiting again

a very hard bed, low pillow. no coffee machine in the room. and the parking lot was very poorly organized, it took me almost an hour to get in and I had to go and park somewhere else.

One of the best hotels I have stayed. The rooms and lobby was very clean. I have to tell the service was fantastic, because we booked 2 twin rooms for family of 4. And the hitel staff gave us a conjoined room with door in between. Which was so comfortable and my kids loved it.

The Holiday Inn Express brand is always solid. So the one in Oberhausen. Friendly staff. Good shower Strong and fast WIFI And a very large shoppingcentre (centro) very nearbye (5min walk) Also the ArenA Oberhausen is a very short walk. So great for shopping Concerts And Relax

Good and clean hotel with basic amenities. Although no minibar available. Rooms are decent size. Price to comfort ratio is not bad at all.

Lovely hotel, but it is most definitely 'out of town'. Breakfast was varied and plentiful in German style. No adjacent restaurants that I could see other than the unglamorous food of the Westfield Centre

We booked a package at this hotel which includes a 3 night stay including breakfast and 2-day movie park ticket, and tickets to Lego discovery center and sealife. The staff is super friendly and the hotel has two restaurants connected to it which all seem to be part of the hotel. The room we got was street side so you should be able to handle street sounds or request another room since the hotel...

Great value for money. We got a family room with good space and very comfortable beds. Breakfast room was light, airy and with a green planted terrace. We enjoyed our continental breakfast. Staff members were very friendly and polite. Parking is right by the hotel.

Germany Trip Room was not thoroughly cleaned. We found dust on the table and others areas. Refreshments left in the room without explanation that you will be charged if consumed. This was very wrong and should have been told the moment we check in.

this must be the best neighbourhood to live in around Essen - beautiful, serene environment. the hotel is very old but very well maintained. service is excellent and very consistent. the restaurant is very good too, although a bit pricey. Edeka is right outside, with a bakery and ice cream shop just round the corner. parking is a breeze. the only downside is the very weak aircon, but a fan was provided...

The room was comfortable enough. Very hot in the evening. Had no fan or A/C. Didn’t have a kettle either or anything to drink. TV was ok, so plugged my Blue Ray in. The location was the best thing for the hotel, petrol station down the road, super markets and McDonald’s. And really close to the motorway way. I think for an extra £10 I would probably choose another hotel next time.

I enjoyed the stay, superbly friendly waitress and bartender staff, helpful front desk, was upgraded due to mistake to a lovely room.

Quite central, spacious room, great breakfast, clean. Reception not always staffed, but received instructions and access code for entry to hotel and you can take keys from reception.

From the location, the staff and rooms this is a lovely place to stay. Restaurants within walking distance, many sites to see but still quiet and personal.

Position at the top of the Mulheim's hill is one of the best things here, since you can experience a nice walk down to the river at the morning, when the mist still covers it and birds are waking up. A shame that the hotel must close due to regulatory requirements. I stayed there for a week and it is a really nice run hotel. The staff are super friendly, the breakfast for such a small hotel really outstanding and the rooms are large and spacious. Personally, I thank you for your visit and I wish you all the best in the fight against bureaucracy.

Very nice and quiet hotel at the banks of the river Ruhr. Make sure you get a riverside room! Also the breakfast was good and the river terrace in the morning sun made it something to remember (and write about). The Sauna is not the newest, but it is a sauna both a view on the Ruhr and the green banks on the other side. The little wooden hut with a terrace that just puts you out of sight of the neighboring...

I had a good stay at the hotel. So I had to decide how many stars to give and for me it's a 3.5!!! Positive: - Parking area on the opposite site of the hotel - there was a gym, and as an early bird, I could use it early in the morning - the breakfast tasted really good, and the small variety was top. Everybody can find something. It even had some sausages and scrambled eggs. That was a positive surprise...

We had the family room for a night (€110). Not a new room but pretty clean. The only improvement we could think of would be a kettle in the room (and coffee/tea set) and fluffier pillows. For a family of 5 (10, 8 and 4 yo kids) the stay was a pleasant one after a day spent at Movie Park.

Nice hotel. Small, good showers, the mini bar is priced reasnobly and the bed is comfortable. Recomended.

Lovely friendly hotel, we have stayed here many times when visiting Techno Classic show and always have a very nice stay, much better than some of the more modern utilitarian hotels. Nice birdsong to wake up to in the mornings.

The most friendly hotel and restaurant in Mülheim. Excellent German and international cuisine at affordable prices. Eichbaum and Stauder beer on tap. On the weekends there are international jazz concerts in the basement. Kegel groups also meet during the week at Hopfensack.

Wonderful hotel run by a wonderful family. They made my month long stay very pleasant. This hotel is very close to both the main train / bus station and a coin laundromat. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Free internet. I wish I had stayed longer, so that I could see some jazz music (July and August are their off season).

Super friendly staff, spotless clean rooms, walking distance to train station and city center, Wifi was excellent, TV channels in numerous languages, 6 minutes train to Duisburg (many connections too)

Conveniently located in a quiet and peaceful street in the old city center, within a very short walking distance to the Hauptbanhof, river, and the shopping center Forum. My room was clean and comfortable, I was provided with clean linens and towels, and everything was in perfect working order. The price for my stay was fair. I definitely recommend the hotel Kölner Hof, and will be staying here again...

Old building in middle of small old town. Nice flavour of old all in all but: - no breakfast buffet - no aircon - sound isolation poor but very quiet hotel We had twin room but putting beds together no issue. Good enough beds, clean shower with curtain, toilet separate (all in-room though). We found twice parking on street easily and truly close. Church bell is close, to me romantic rather than disturbing...

Cheap and basic, but with friendly staff. It's fine for what you pay for, and in a good location for accessing trains into Essen. Plus there are a couple good places to eat very close by.
