Essen, Theodor-Althoff-Str. 5 🧭 Map
The room was clean and very quiet. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. The quality of the food in the restaurant was also good.
距離湖邊很近,環境很好
The three bedroom was very small, the beds were ok, the bathroom was a bit outdated but functioned properly. The breakfast was good, lots of choice, the staff was very helpful. The pool was average, a bit cold. The junior suite was very good.
These are my positive and negative experiences regarding the hotel: Positive: - The hotel has a big parking space - The hotel is located in a somewhat peaceful side of Essen - The staff was very friendly - The coffee at the breakfast buffet was excellent, and the machine had a fast refill, so you didn't have to wait long - The orange juice at the breakfast buffet was without pulp Negative: - On arrival...
Friendly welcome, clean comfortable rooms with sparkling water. Well payed out family adjoining rooms. Nice gym/poil area. Only downside was quite a bit of hair in the pool water. Breakfast was fantastic.
Great indoor pool, not heated but perfect for families with kids. Too short to swim. Breakfast was quite good, with a nice selection. Very large parking, and one electric charger, 0.50€/kW at the time of our stay. Bar has good cocktails. Rooms are a bit outdated, hence one star less

Beautiful location, very functional for congress or other business meetings. The rooms are huge and clean. The breakfast has a wide range of options. Even for lunch and dinner there were vegan options, although the steak was delicious. Near the hotel there is an incredible park with wildlife and hiking areas.
The Atlantic Hotel in Essen is a clean and well-maintained property with a great breakfast selection and a stylish bar area. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. However, a major downside was the parking situation. Unfortunately, parking cannot be reserved in advance, and upon arrival, we were told the on-site car park was full. This meant we had to park about 20 minutes walk away...
Only 2 minutes walk to Messe Essen. We stayed for one night only, probably priciest hotel in the area. Everything looks nice and clean and staff if really helpfull. We had a room o the 2nd flor, almost direcly above the entrance to the hotel. Bad placement as below our window people stopd smoling and talking and sounded like they were in our room. We could also hear if some one was walking in the...
Cleanliness and close proximity to the motorway network, Staff were very helpful
Stayed for 3 nights had a coach which could park 5min walk away cars could park under Hotel. Rooms were excellent and the maid service maticulas with every detail. Good bar great range of single malts. Breakfast was exceptional there was everything you could think of available unlimited. Staff were polite and very attentive. Evening meal in the hotel was a more limited choice and the only downside...
Stay was pretty good! The rooms are modern and big. Great shower too. Easy check in, friendly staff let me print a few pages too. Breakfast expensive (very) but very good too. The pillows were all too big for my taste, wish they had also some thinner ones.

Very nice hotel! The location is perfect, everything is clean, tidy and the staff is friendly. We were also lucky that there was space in the parking garage under the hotel which is also ideal. Thanks for the nice stay!
Breakfast from 6am... Perfect... Very helpful staff... Damn good varied breakfast buffet, delicious coffee and cocoa... Keep it up
Very good, pleasant stay, long queue in front of the coffee machine for the breakfast buffet, normal German filter coffee is recommended. I would stay at the NH-Hotel Essen again anytime. A clear recommendation!
Very central location, standard rooms are small but very modern and clean. Air conditioning. Nice bathroom. Very friendly reception. Possibility of underground parking. Good value for money.

Attractive hotel in a historic area of Essen . Spacious and comfortable room. Helpful and friendly staff.
Very good hotel in a quiet location. Room and restaurant upstairs. The staff is polite and friendly. We felt comfortable and can recommend the hotel with a clear conscience.
Very nice hotel and great central location! Food and service are great!!!!! The food is truly a dream. Super nice staff at the front desk. You're doing well, I'll be happy to come back :-)
Nice hotel at a convenient place for visiting the University
Very nice hotel with good quality service.👍🏻 Very nice rooms, good equipped and nicely decorated. Very good european breakfasts.🧀🥓🍳🍞☕😋👍🏻 Definitely I will book and visit this hotel once again if I'm only in Essen again.😍👍🏻

Awesome location, like 5mins walk from train station and into the shops Helpful staff and amazing breakfast Must check out the Rosemarie Cafe, cakes are so yummy and great service
Basically all you need, good priced room and decent bed. BUT the downstairs cafe sells things priced a bit too high. €5,50 for a single water is a bit much. Luckily the Hauptbanhoff is close enough to walk to Lidl or Aldi, great location. Only real complaint is the window barely opens. You want fresh air, but you can't really get it. Good internet and otherwise nice place to stay in Essen.
We were very happy that the room was ready at our arrival one hour before official check in time. The room was big enough, the bed was comfortable and I really liked the small sitting area next to the bed. The room was refreshed during our two night stay. There is also an ironing room available for the guests. We had a fun evening playing ping pong at the bar.
Rooms were small and we missed a few things. The hotel is more fun when youre at the ground floor with somebody else where you can play games like table tennis and table football. The location is exactly in the center with a big shopping street being 2 minutes away. The people at the bar are also very nice. There aren't any different types of rooms.
Hotel is what you can expect from a Moxy but the staff is extremely friendly I had ordered food one day and didn’t get a notification it was delivered. As I was walking to the lobby I met a man who works there called Artion, who was bringing my food to the room. It was completely unnecessary but very sweet!
Staying in this hotel was great and fun. We felt comfortable. The rooms are modern, and the hotel bar is never boring.

Hotel is conveniently situated 300meter away from Philharmonie U Bahn station and 1.5km to Essen HBF. Nice n neat hotel, I wished the water pressure in the shower area can be stronger though.
Clean hotel with friendly staff close to the train station, Follwang Museum and the restaurant and street Rüttenscheider Str. We stayed here a few times and would come back next time in Essen.
We had a wonderful 5 night stay. The rooms were nice and clean — great value for the price! The staff were also the most friendly and helpful hotel staff I’ve ever met in all my travels in Germany. Things to note: - The hotel is a bit of a walk to the city centre and multiple tram tickets can get quite expensive - Parking is 18Euros per day — on the pricier side. You are given a parking ticket to...
Stayed at this hotel many times and now always look to stay here when in Essen. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Clean, good-sized rooms.
The room is super big. Although it was built in 2000, it doesn't feel old at all. It is clean and tidy, and has a capsule coffee machine. Essen has a large green area, so the air in the whole city is very comfortable. It is convenient to check in and the service attitude is very good.
The bathroom is so bad, the shower water is weak, the mattress is uncomfortable, and the equipment is so rudimentary

Worked out very good short walk to town for dinner & train station ,great breakfast allclean & tidy
Good service, nice and clean hotel. Expensive parking, which isn't included. Trains passing by isn't a + except if you are traveling by one of them. 😉
Staff was courteous and friendly, rooms were clean. Breakfast area clean and food was nice. Location, though... haha. Well, let's just say I woke up quite a few times from the train noises.
Room are decent and people are nice, but €18 for breakfast that have little choice of €7 for a bottle of water is a bit much. Also right now (2024) it’s construction right outside, so if you need want to nap during the afternoon, it’s a bit annoying.
Stayed here for one night for a concert. It was clean, quiet, had good AC and is a short walk to the main Essen train station, so ticked all of the boxes. I have removed one star because we asked the hotel to arrange two taxis for my friend and I who were heading to separate airports. In both cases, the price estimate given by the hotel was significantly lower (by about 40%) than what the taxis ultimately...
The room is nice and clean, The air conditioning and heating system is excellent, the bed is wide and not high, there is no water kettle for tea, check out of the hotel at 11! Conveniently located a few minutes from the U-Bahn, looks over a pretty square, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and modern. Staff was very friendly and spoke English quite well. The continental breakfast isn't what you'd be used to in the USA, but it was still good. The only inconvenience was they provided only one room card instead of two. Not sure if this is normal, but all Holiday Inns I've stayed...
Excellent and friendly staff. The rooms and beds were nice, but the bathrooms need renovation, and the sound insulation between rooms and hallways was not so good. The room keys wouldn't stay programmed for more than 15 minutes, so I had to visit the lobby nearly every time I went back to my room.
Friendly staff. Rooms are fine for the express brand. We slept 3 easily with the sofa bed. Breakfast is typically German (no complaints), but if you're expecting scrambled eggs and such then you'll be disappointed. Parking, if you have to use the attached parking garage. However, parking in the street is mostly free if you can find a space.

Plesant suprise. We booked the hotel appartment as it was only a 2 minute walk to the Messe Essen. When pruce for taxinor train is calculated into the total cost of being further away from the Messe the appartment really becomes a very good option. Appartment was spacious. Absolute Gem! Mintrop's Concierge exceeded all expectations. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From the moment I stepped in, I felt right at home. The rooms (at least the suites) are big and have all necessary amenities like a kettle, fridge, tresor, tv and balcony. The location is ideal if you are traveling by public transportation and have business on the Gruga Location/ Messe Essen. The only negative is, that there are some but not a lot of parking spaces that belong to the hotel.
Love the location and the people at the front desk. The rooms are really well laid out and spacious. The probelm we faced was that it was way too hot. The bedding was not breathable. The windows opened for nice breeze but because it was by the road and also this carnival, it was too noisy to sleep. So we were extremely unrested during out stay.
They deserve all the ✋ stars for the way they do business! The room was very clean, spacious and expressing lots of comfort. Location and access were great. Went there for the Euro 2024 and the hotel was a great oasis of relax for the magnificient days in Germany !
Very convenient if attending an expo at the messe, would recommend for this alone. Beds are comfortable and there was a decent amount of pillows. Only dropped on star because the breakfast isn't great. We had it on our first day but it was 12€ each and there was very little choice.

Great little hotel in the centre of Essen and close to the train station. Rooms very small, but met our needs for three nights. Didn’t have any food so can’t comment. Cheap and cheerful and ideally located . Not much else to say! It has a small bar !
The hotel was a bit pricey considering the facilities as it was during an international conference. It was disappointing that they were doing road paving work in front of the hotel and the breakfast was repetitive.
Quick one night stay whilst visiting the Christmas markets - good location. Basic but clean , Car park next door , check in was easy . Staff friendly - The rooms were fine although the bathroom was quite small Would stay again if visited Xmas market
Room is simple but good enough. Receptionists are also extra nice and helpful.
OK for one night, but the room was very small, especially the bathroom. Overall, good value for money
There was a road under construction near the hotel. I drove there at night and followed Google Maps for many times but couldn't find the way. It was very unfriendly. I parked the car at the train station next to it and walked there. There is an IKEA store and McDonald's near the hotel.

Friends Zeche Zollverein is situated at, almost literally, a stone throw distance from the Zollverein grounds. The location is excellent, but the parking price is, at 10 euro a bit steep if you're just spending one night there. Three stars for the rooms; and that is a bit personal. Nestled amidst a picturesque landscape, this castle boasts a surrounding moat stepped in history, where you can escape and relax. We were astounded when we spotted an otter swimming gracefully in the moat - an extraordinary, magical, and rare experience.
Extraordinary buildings renovated in a lovely way to fulfill the five star feeling of the hotel (this really old stone and brick castle). Fireplaces with live fires going in the evenings are cosy. But be prepared for the smell if you are sensitive. The fine dining experience is a thing I truly appreciate and recommend!
Castle converted into a hotel with an outside restaurant ( used also for weddings). The location has parking and it is usually not crowded. As a customer you get also free access in the back, into the castle garden. I was just visiting, so I can't write about the hotel part anything.
