Hotel Garni Otto Huber

This is a nice guest house, comfortable and cosy with a homely feel to it. The room was well appointed and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was as good as any we had in Germany, good variety and a bright and welcoming room. The guest house is close walking distance to the centre of town, restaurants and shops. There are two supermarkets close by. Free parking was good and the owners were friendly and helpful and the older Herr Huber was a delightful man.

My mother and I stayed here in mid September 2022. All the staff were lovely and friendly. There is free parking on site (several spots along the street). The guest house is in a really convenient location - close to the station and a ten minute walk to the Passion Theatre. Our room had a beautiful view of the toboggan run and mountain west of town. The room is spacious with a small sitting room next to the bedroom. Small but clean bathroom, and don't worry that it takes ages for the hot water to come through - it will eventually! There is no fridge or cooling (although it was cool enough so that I didn't get too hot), but there is a safe. The bed was really comfortable with a firm mattress and a lovely feather doona (that I didn't need :) ). Breakfast was excellent. I would very happily stay here again!

Family run, bed and breakfast accommodation about 10 minutes walk from the centre of Oberammergau. Nice buffet breakfasts. Cold water and drinks purchasable from the fridge. Comfortable, en suite rooms, some with balconies overlooking the town. Highly recommended. Fully booked during the Oberammergau Passion Play!

Sadly I only spent a night here after the Passion play performance. A family run business at it's best. It has character and charm. Old family photos on the walls, antique comfy chairs made it feel welcoming and friendly. My twin bedroom was exceptionally clean and the door opened out onto a beautiful balcony. The ensuite was compact with a smallish corner shower but had little extras like cotton buds and shower caps. There is a night fridge with beer and hot water for making tea downstairs both with honesty boxes. A wonderful continental breakfast awaited me in the morning, you certainly wouldn't go hungry. Otto the owner acted in the passion play in the 90's and his nephew who served breakfast was in the play that we watched. Not forgetting his grandson who welcomed us in when we arrived. A fabulous experience if you like traditional stay. I sat in the garden for 10 minutes reading, in the sunshine whilst waiting for our coach. I didn't want to leave.

The NICEST owners and staff. So so lovely. Also this hotel is adorable, in a fantastic location and has a wonderful breakfast. Loved staying here and hope to be back.

Very good received by the owner. Excellent breakfast. Close to public transportation and supermarket.

One of the very best places I've ever stayed,
Mr. Huber is am amazing host. Large comfortable rooms in a quiet and beautiful location. Good breakfast and walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Highly recommend staying with Mr. Huber if you are visiting that area.

Great contact with the host, Otto. Our future plan is to travel to Hawaii together and live the dream. Breakfast was nice and the rooms were clean. If there was more activity in Oberammergau I would come here more often.
