We had a great stay at the Hotel. Super location on outskirts of town. Quiet. Room was very comfortable and large with separate sitting room, bathroom, bedroom and huge balcony with a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains. Plenty of easy parking and we used the Indoor Pool. Also, secure storage for bikes. Hotel bar & restaurant is not open on Thursday and Fridays but plenty of places to eat...

Extremely nice food and big portions, on Sunday for breakfast smoked salmon and Prosecco, amazing selection of cheese, nice rooms, small but warm and clean pool and sauna, beautiful views, location 3 min from centre and by the river. I stayed in this hotel in July. As I travelled with Deutsche Bahn, I took a bus from the train station, because of the heavy luggage (Oberammergau was not my only stop). I was glad to see that there's a bus stop near the hotel. A beautiful hotel with staff who couldn’t be more helpful. The room was large with a balcony overlooking the valley. The spa had a nice sauna and small plunge pool. The restaurant had a hearty breakfast and good menu for dinner. Located with a 5 minute walk into town.

The most beautiful hotel on this trip, opposite the monastery, you can see it by opening the window, the scenery in the fairy tale becomes a reality here, it is worth a second visit. It takes more than ten minutes to drive from here to the De Linhof Palace, and 1 hour to drive to Neuschwanstein Castle. The scenery along the way is beautiful.

This hotel exceeded expectations! Very convenient for driving tours. Opposite the hotel is a beautiful monastery (Ettal Abbey), it is best to leave some time to visit it. The surrounding countryside scenery and breakfast are also good.

A very comfortable hotel, friendly staff, relatively spacious rooms, good breakfast. Only disappointment was dinner. We were on a package for the Passionspeil and dinner the night before was a set menu that was the worst meal we’ve ever had in a hotel! Cooked hours before and inedible.

We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed some spa and wellness. The wellness area is beautiful and I felt very comfortable there. The massage at the hotel was excellent and super relaxing. The food was excellent, including breakfast. The rooms are nice too. There is a lot to do in the area and you can go on great hikes directly from the hotel. The mountain railway is directly opposite.

This hotel is pretty neat, clean, friendly customer service and seems to be a family owned and operated. We had a family room, which exceeded our expectations! It was spacious, exceptionally clean, and the beds were quite comfortable. Our kids loved the bath in the room! Long ago this location was a flour mill, now a luxury hotel and spa in Garmisch. Rooms were clean, bed firm. They have a small gym, and many spa services. The bar has a decent selection of spirits, wine and beer. There is a lovely walking path along the river.

We spent a new years holiday at the Waxenstein and really enjoyed ourselves. The rooms a comfortable and clean and the bar is great. The location and view is very nice. Grainau is a great little town and the train will take you here.

Arrived at the hotel early evening and the service wasn't great. The receptionists seemed on edge. The room was spacious, however it wasn't as clean as I'd expect. There were hairs on the bathroom floor, on the bed and the bathroom had a strange odour. The breakfast however was lovely. They had a good selection of foods.

If you want to enjoy the GAP area this is a perfect location. Grainau and Längenfelder Hof is a great choice for alpine scenery. You can get here by the small train and will do well without a car. I recommend you rent bicycles (electric or other) as you have access to great roads and paths.

Very ,very suited for our stay !! In walking distance of everything: toxic lake ,and Garmisch (with its fish cafe store) and the famous gorge with a stream . What are transitional Hiking for 5-6 hours !!! And in the evening we had tea with warming liqueurs , pool and baths . Breakfast Deluxe . To the bus 5 min walk to the tourist train 15-20 min . This place was amazing! It has a rustic yet modern feel. Only was there for one night, but if time was available I would have extended my stay. We come back to here every year! The location is perfect with the lake and mountain. The hotel is generous with offering paddle boards and small boats which makes a huge difference. Stayed there in August 2024. Too high price for a room without air-conditioning. If the swimming pool is not of interest for u, this hotel might not be the 1st option. This is a very nice hotel with a spa and open grounds. Excellent restaurant and a nice bar. The rooms were very comfortable and big! I had a great view of the Bavarian Alps out the window. We were only there one night but enjoyed it. We got into town early, so took the chairlift to top of ski resort and watched the hang gliders. Easy walk from resort to hotel.
