Wonderful stay with friendly and helpful staff, quiet location with mountain view right across the street. Sauna available from 3-8pm is a treat after a day in the outdoors. A hot Gluhwein on tap in the afternoons and the fireplace rounds off a luxurious stay. Breakfast from 8-10am is diverse and high quality. Rooms and bathrooms are immaculately clean.

Amazing breakfast and super clean, large rooms! Wide shower and well provisioned bathroom. It was a nice walk to the city center and we enjoyed the open field with the sheep across from the hotel.

This was a beautiful, clean and comfortable inn in Bavaria. The views from the balcony are amazing. The breakfast buffet was delicious. One of the nicest places we have stayed in our travels.It was a good base location for exploring the area.

Nice typical german hotel next to the famous monastery, clean room with good sturdy beds. A little too pricey for the value but sufficient. We had a good stay here

Great location overlooking Ettal. Nicely furnished rooms, a solid breakfast offering, and a nice outdoor area. The restaurant was closed for a renovation, so did not get an opportunity to experience it.

Ettal is one of the most picturesque little towns you will find in the alps of Germany. The room was lovely, I got the room with the view of the Abbey, which I would suggest over the view of the hill where the sheep are, just because the hill is really steep and I don't think you really get all that great of a view. Firstly, the Staff, very hospitable, friendly and helpful. The Sauna was amazing, we paid extra for the private sauna and it was very nice. plenty of parking and in a good location to see all kinds of beautiful nature

Room was clean, service great and personalized. Every morning at breakfast, the owner was asking if we needed diner, room services, room cleaned... The honor system for the alcoholic beverage was great, allowing lower cost (2.5euro/beer). This is a great Hotel to stay if you want to explore the region of the Ammergau Alps. The service at the hotel is impeccable and the people of the region are very friendly to tourists. You will start your day with an amazing breakfast buffet and then you can either hike the Alps, hit the slopes or relax at the Spa!!! We will be back again soon!

This is a quaint hotel right in front of the mountain "Hörnle" - a great area to Ski and sleigh ride. They have a 4.5km long sleigh hill which you can ride down 🙌🏽 The food for the region is very hearty and filling from home made Spätzle to Schnitzel you can eat anything your hear desires st their in house restaurant. Nice clean spacious room, awesome wellness area, we enjoyed it there and plan to stay there in the summer as well. I only do not understand why was the breakfast on our check-out day (sunday) richer than previous days, for me it was a bit disppointing. But it was great anyway, thanks.

We stayed at this hotel for 8 days. The service was very good, the breakfast excellent. The room was of a good standard, as was the bathroom, if a little on the small side. The location in the village is very quiet and only a few hundred meters from the "center". We will be back, especially because of the rich and high quality breakfast.

We spent two wonderful nights at Hotel am Wiesenhang. Will highly recommend it! The service was perfect, super friendly reception and breakfast was great. Especially during pandemic, I feel really comfortable with the measurements they took, mask in the hotel, gloves at the breakfast buffet, distancing and individual time slots allocated to 2 maximum people at the sauna area. Germans love the place, but for Americans it may take awhile. You have to be here for the German spa experience: the healthful atmosphere (and what that implies for breakfast) with sauna, pool, mudpacks, massage, lymph drainage, etc. If you're not, stay in a guesthouse or ordinary hotel. Hotel Maximilian was quite enchanting. The location is ideal since it sits in the heart of the village where you can find unique shops, restaurants and a beautiful cemetery with interesting headstones of past generations. The hotels decor was unique and tastefully done. The room was incredibly comfortable and clean. The staff was pleasant and attentive. Notably, the breakfast was exceptional.

Nice location and amenities. Bathroom in room is a little weirdly designed as there are windows into the room so your companion can see you using the bathroom. Fine for us but some people might not like it especially if you are traveling with a friend, not a partner. This is a nice guest house, comfortable and cosy with a homely feel to it. The room was well appointed and the beds were comfortable. My mother and I stayed here in mid September 2022. All the staff were lovely and friendly. There is free parking on site (several spots along the street). Family run, bed and breakfast accommodation about 10 minutes walk from the centre of Oberammergau. Nice buffet breakfasts. Cold water and drinks purchasable from the fridge. Sadly I only spent a night here after the Passion play performance. A family run business at it's best. It has character and charm. Old family photos on the walls, antique comfy chairs made it feel welcoming and friendly. My twin bedroom was exceptionally clean and the door opened out onto a beautiful balcony.
