this was NOT the case at Maximilian. All the niceties like heated tile floors, automatic window shades between the bathroom and bedroom, all the spa features, etc. It was all appreciated and lovely

Beautiful setting in Oberammergau, this hotel is in a perfect location to walk all over the town. Hiking trailing are close by and you can even walk to Ettal Monastery if you are motivated

Our daughter unfortunately got a little sick during our stay which caused a bit of a mess in our room. The staff were incredible quickly replacing our sheets and bedding so that we were 100% comfortable

The rooms are very nice, the restaurant and staff is amazing. People should appreciate more this place. Very near to town center and we had a couple of lovely days here, including the lovely spa area

Amazing breakfast and super clean, large rooms! Wide shower and well provisioned bathroom. It was a nice walk to the city center and we enjoyed the open field with the sheep across from the hotel.

A hot Gluhwein on tap in the afternoons and the fireplace rounds off a luxurious stay. Breakfast from 8-10am is diverse and high quality. Rooms and bathrooms are immaculately clean

The guest house is in a really convenient location - close to the station and a ten minute walk to the Passion Theatre. Our room had a beautiful view of the toboggan run and mountain west of town

Sadly I only spent a night here after the Passion play performance. A family run business at it's best. Old family photos on the walls, antique comfy chairs made it feel welcoming and friendly

Otto the owner acted in the passion play in the 90's and his nephew who served breakfast was in the play that we watched. Not forgetting his grandson who welcomed us in when we arrived

This was a beautiful, clean and comfortable inn in Bavaria. The views from the balcony are amazing. The breakfast buffet was delicious. One of the nicest places we have stayed in our travels

The room was lovely, I got the room with the view of the Abbey, which I would suggest over the view of the hill where the sheep are, just because the hill is really steep and I don't think you really get all that great of a view

We ate at the hotel a couple times and the food was really good. English was not typically spoken here, but we got by no problem with our very limited German vocabulary

The place is well located in the small village of Ettal and they have a parking lot too. We had a sunny balcony with nice views. Moreover you can leave your bikes in the garage of the owner

Even I was a bit late for check in because of mu tracking, the nice hotel stuff organised everything for me before and I could go to the room and do all the paper work in the morning, after nice breakfast you could go and see the little town with the amazing scenery

Firstly, the Staff, very hospitable, friendly and helpful. The Sauna was amazing, we paid extra for the private sauna and it was very nice. plenty of parking and in a good location to see all kinds of beautiful nature

We had to leave quite early each morning and Mia was kind enough to prepare us a takeaway breakfast which was very decent of her. On the day we did eat breakfast at the hotel, I thought the choice and quality was good

I asked if I could change rooms as someone next to me was a bit noisy and this was no trouble at all. The second room I stayed in was also great. Overall, we stayed for 5 nights and were very happy with our choice

The honor system for the alcoholic beverage was great, allowing lower cost (2. Sauna was open every night on request (to save on energy) and available to rent as private spa anytime outside normal hours (17h-21h)

Typical winter Bavarian hotel, you can have a sauna after the cold day, and if you'd like a beer at the evening simply go down in the restaurant

It's ok I guess because there was NO wifi even though they advertise it it is a very weak signal and the food was pretty good

First off, they gave me a guest pass that allows me to take the bus to, from, and around Garmisch, Partenkirchen, and Farchant for free, secondly, the hotel staff has been amazing with readily available advice and assistance, and thirdly, the view is beautiful! Admittedly, many hotels in the Alps area have a similar view but the combination makes this stay a five star

I was a little apprehensive staying outside of Garmisch and having to use public transportation but the Richard Strauss Festival was happening in Garmisch and this hotel was the only one I could find under €150 per night

Super nice, hospitable family who run the hotel with a lot of passion. They always have a good tip for trips and an open ear for questions. The breakfast is very good and the rooms and the hotel are very clean

There was a thai man visiting during my stay and when I went to check out, suddenly he had his guards arrest me! Apparently this was the king of Thailand and I called him discount Obama online and apparently that’s bad

Long ago this location was a flour mill, now a luxury hotel and spa in Garmisch. They have a small gym, and many spa services. The bar has a decent selection of spirits, wine and beer

Breakfast was average, definitely not the greatest spread when compared to breakfast at other hotels in Germany. Only about a 7 minute walk to the Christmas market, so location isn’t bad at all

Everything was great. A small point to note is that there is no air conditioning for the room during winter season, hence you’ll have to leave the windows open as it gets a little stuffy overtime.

Its a 450 year old hotel so you don't have air conditioning. But they do give fans. Otherwise it is beautiful. You are living in history. Service is great. The location is amazing!

We booked a room with halfboard. I normally take my pillow with me every time i go on vacation, but this time i could not - the pillows were perfect! So was the room - renovated, clean, a decent (included) minibar

Some things to consider: - parking fee is not included - dinner… well you won’t leave hungry, but honestly i wouldn’t book it again. Not a single salad / piece of vegetable. You can only choose the main course

I love that the minibar was replenished every day and they give you the ingredients to make your own apple schorle or spetzi. We also had a balcony with fantastic views

The only negative is that the other guests were quite loud on their balconies and always smoking at night, so you can only enjoy the balcony for a little while at night until it starts completely smelling like cigarettes from your neighbors

Exceptional apartment with outstanding management This is definitely one of the best apartments I've stayed in so far! Not only is everything fresh, clean, and well-maintained, but the management is incredibly professional and truly focused on guest comfort and satisfaction

If I could give 10 stars, I would. Driving in we were greater by Barbara who asked us to meet her in the restaurant. We checked in there and made our dinner reservations. We sent to our room, in a separate building

What a great 4 nights we spent at this hotel! Everything was superb- the room was perfect ( such a comfortable bed, heating you could adapt to your needs a good-sized balcony where you could relax after walking around in the beautiful scenery )

The hotel is well located, and many excursions can be started from there. This is evident from the stains on the carpet and upholstery. There is a large TV, but it is not usable at all due to poor reception

The location is a little far from the station, but it is within walking distance. The facilities are a little old, but the environment and sanitation are still OK. You can see the mountain when you open the window
