Dormero Hotel Plauen in Plauen

The worst hotel ever! At 22:30 I booked 2 rooms last minute as we were driving along motorway with an option to pay on arrival . I called the hotel and informed that we’re coming 22:30. The hotel gave me night entrance code and promised to leave keys in the door. We arrived 23:30 , unpacked all luggage, kids and went in to the hotel. The keys were not there! The emergency number left in the hotel didn’t answer, we called at least 10 times. We also called central number and they told us that they’ll get hold of the receptionists. They didn’t call back, nobody answered, came. We tried for another 30 minutes and packed back in the car. We lost 1 hour on 14 hours drive!!! Next hotel we found was in Dresden, 2 hours more drive and check in at 3a.m.

BETTER AVOID THIS HOTEL. It’s not reliable

They refused to take 200 euro in cashwhich is legal currency in Germany. I had to find another hotel after drove 900 km. pretty sad.

The biggest problem with this hotel is no staff in reception from 11pm to 1pm the next day. A drunken guest broke into my room at 4am smashing the lock and door frame and leaving me shaken and shocked.and because there were no staff to help me and report it to I was left stuck in my room with no help or support, later i told the manager after reporting the incident to the hotel chsin central booking line. I was offered no support or help, i wasnt even offered a new room with a lock. I had to ask for service and a place to secure my luggage, neither were offered to me. They seemed more concerned that other guests werent made aware of the danger and they only called the police after i checked out. The safety and security of guests should be the responsibility of the hotel. This is not the case with Dormero hotels, the, the door locks are flimsey, there is no emergency number to call, if you stay here and there is an emergency in the night you are on your own.
