AllgäuStern Hotel

I stayed here for a few nights as part of a conference. Overall it was a good experience. The hotel is laid out in different buildings connected to a common central area. It can be a bit of a maze getting from room to restaurant and can involve multiple elevators and stairs with connecting corridors between. We had a group dinner one evening in the hotel. It was a fixed menu to help with group size but the food was good and served promptly. On another evening we went to a hillside restaurant then came back to the hotel for drinks in the weinstube. The atmosphere was great. There are also a couple of bowling lanes, some ping pong, and other games. The hotel has un underground parking garage that is well lit and easy to get in/out of. As a business conference venue it was good. As a holiday destination, the hotel has several on site activities and is well placed in the region for the alps and the various lakes. A nice place

The table and sofa inside the room were visibly dusty. Only available option for dinner is a grand buffet that costs some buck. Breakfast is superb. Vegan option available too. Swimming pool and sauna are worth the money.

The staff are helpful and friendly, especially for non Germany speaking guests. The breakfast was fantastic with excellent variety of options. Rooms are older and in need of renovation. The lack of A/C in summer months is disappointing and only magnified by rooms with the sleeping area in a loft. A fan would be a great improvement.
