Reviews
Unfortunately, the overnight stay did not meet my expectations. The room I stayed in was stuffy despite keeping the window open all day and night, which made the stay uncomfortable. Furthermore, the beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable—I couldn’t sleep at all, which ruined the overall experience.
There was also some confusion regarding the restaurant. I had booked a table a week in advance, but no one informed me that dinner would be served buffet-style. While the food itself was excellent, it would have been nice to know this detail beforehand.
It is also worth mentioning that the spa is located outside the main building. While this might not be an issue in summer, it becomes inconvenient during winter due to the cold weather.
Overall, Vihula Manor is a beautiful location for enjoying nature and relaxing for a short visit. However, based on this experience, some improvements are needed.
You need a rental car, but there’s plenty of parking spaces available. The staff were top notch, very welcoming and professional, and they spoke very good English at the reception and at the restaurant (we ate at the hotel the 3 nights we stayed there).
The grounds are worth a visit, it’s so pretty and peaceful…
Your room will probably be on a separate building, so don’t unload your car before you check in, to avoid lugging your things around. Also, there are steps to most rooms and to the breakfast/dinning room, so be aware of that (you’ll also have to carry your luggage to your room, so pack light).
Our room was very spacious and comfortable as you would expect from a rather old building. There are heaters and the bathroom had a heated floor, which was welcome since it could get cold at night. However, the shower head tends to swivel and you can easily wet all the floor, so a fixed shower head would have been nicer. Also, the cleaning service is only done if you ask so, for ecological reasons, but with the dirt and little stones that you bring attached to your suitcase and shoes (even if you take them off before coming to the room), I think a vacuuming is needed almost every day. The outlets by the bed are also not very accessible, but apart from these little details, we had zero complaints.
The restaurant was also very good. There’s not a lot of options, but there’s something to everyone, and the portions are very generous. The mussels were especially delicious!!! And the cheese platter can feed a family of four, almost!
Oh, and the musical playlist was so good, very calming and appropriate. Would love to know where they got such good tracks!
Highly recommended, it’s a beautiful hotel set in a beautiful scenery, which you will want to explore!
Loved it! 🥰
What truly set our experience apart was the level of personalized service we received. The team at Vihula Manor went above and beyond to ensure our day was flawless. From the planning stages to the moment we said our vows, we felt supported and understood. They took the time to get to know us and our vision, and their suggestions were invaluable in bringing that vision to life. The catering was exquisite, with a menu that delighted our guests and showcased the best of local cuisine.
The professionalism of the staff was matched by their warmth and genuine desire to make our day special.
Vihula Manor offered us an extraordinary experience that we will cherish forever. If you're looking for a wedding venue that combines historical charm with modern luxury and impeccable service, Vihula Manor is the perfect choice.
Two specific points as feedback/improvement ideas:
1. Our room (Zen, not the cheapest), did not have a fridge or minibar. In such hot weather, it would have been nice to be able to have cold drinks and snacks in the room, but that was not possible at all. Also, with small kids fridge is sometimes a must to keep special foods/milk formula in cold. That took away the fifth start in this review
2. We would have hoped a few more "more affordable" option in the restaurant menu. The only options were a burger (meat/vegan) or some cabbage rolls. If you spend three nights like we did, we do not want to spend 20+ euros per portion every evening, and hence went to another village for dinner once.
Overall, a pleasant and recommended stay!
There were chicken, ducks, bunnies, a lamb and a goat. The garden is beautiful and the mini golf is cute!
I loved my sunny day here.
All in all, all other services were good except the accommodation, the rooms needs renovation ASAP.
The reception and service over all was very polite and friendly. I'm hooked! Would love to see it in the spring summer and maybe autumn.
