We had such a great time at Gemma Resort in Marsa Alam!

The transfer from the airport took about 1.5 hours, but it was an easy ride and totally worth it once we arrived. The place is super peaceful and relaxing—perfect if you just want to switch off and enjoy some quiet time.

We loved that it was really calm with no kids around, which made the vibe extra chilled. It’s a mostly Italian hotel, so you get that lovely Italian feel (and great food!), but there were also some friendly guests from Czechia, Germany and Poland, which gave it a nice international touch.

The food was fantastic—lots of Italian favorites and plenty of variety every day. The beach is gorgeous, with soft sand and an easy, gentle entry into the sea, so you can just walk straight in for a swim. There isn’t a coral reef right at the beach, but the water is crystal clear and perfect for a refreshing dip.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, always with a smile and happy to make your stay comfortable. A special mention goes to Karim, one of the waiters, who was absolutely outstanding. He was always attentive, incredibly friendly, and seemed to remember every little detail of our preferences. His warm personality and excellent service really made our dining experience even more enjoyable.

If you’re after a quiet, laid-back getaway with a bit of Italian flair, Gemma Resort is the place to be. We’d happily come back in a heartbeat!

After a long drive from aswan to marsa Alam, we arrived at this beautiful resort. The room was beautiful, the staff was really friendly and even try to remember your names.

The housekeeping restocked everyday our fridge and asked several times if he could help with anything.

One of the best qualities of the resort is the food. The quality of the food, the amount of choice and again the service is of a very high standard.

My husband went on two diving trips, organised by the hotel and this as well was pure professionalism.

If we have to look for one point or critique, it's the wifi being slow. But apart from that we really can't think of anything else

In general I have to say that nothing was to much for the staff and we're very grateful. Our thanks to everyone who made our stay unforgettable.

I could write a whole novel about our great vacation because staying at Gemma was great, but I'll try to keep it short.

We arrived at the hotel in the evening, we were immediately given a welcome drink. The bracelets were given to us in a moment, the bus then took us to the room and after a while they brought our suitcases to us. You don't have to worry about anything.

The hotel is large, there are several pools and even though the hotel was fully booked, we always found free sun loungers both by the pools and on the beach at any hour.

The hotel staff always take great care of you, they are meticulous, and the cleaning was top notch.

As for the food, we had no problem. Some might say that there is more choice somewhere, but we always chose, even when we had our three-year-old daughter with us. There was plenty of meat, fish, vegetables, fresh pasta, pizza, sweets, fruit, just about everything you can think of.

The beach here is large, sandy, but the entrance to the water is over pebbles and it is better to have water shoes. After a few meters, however, there is sand again. The depth here is fine, you can swim here easily. The corals are rather dead, but there were still enough fish, so it is fine for undemanding people.

I also have to mention the great animation program. There are two groups, one directly from the hotel, the other belonging to Bravo. We don't have much experience with Bravo, we only met them occasionally and they were all always nice. However, we had a lot of experiences with the animators belonging to the hotel. It was an international team of great people who were interested in entertainment for guests of all ages. We had a lot of fun with them and my daughter was thrilled with them. So I would like to thank Kristina, Karolina, Sosta, Amir and Zika.

Gemma is a hotel for those who want to enjoy peace and quiet. There is only desert all around, so you can make the most of the varied offer of excursions, or enjoy a great rest in the hotel. However, if someone wants to go to Egypt for amazing snorkeling or wants fun in an aquapark, they have to find another place.

To sum it all up, it was a great holiday and we have visited countless different countries and hotels. Gemma won us over with its great environment and wonderful people. We will definitely be back.

This place was such a great surprise! Big, super clean, and with everything you need for a perfect holiday. But what really makes it special is the people. The staff are amazing: friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. A special thank you to Alessandro from the restaurant for greeting us every day with the biggest smile and great humor, Mahmoud from housekeeping for taking such good care of us, and Scamarcio, the best waiter ever!

The beach is beautiful, the sea is stunning, and even though it’s a little further from some excursion spots, it’s totally worth it. We had an awesome time here, highly recommend!

I spent my summer vacation in this amazing place. First of all, I would like to mention the local staff. They were wonderful people, polite, friendly and gave us a lot of smiles.
I especially want to mention the waiter and the international animation team. Zeka,Sosta,Amer,Kristina,Karolina - you all created the best mood, our dialogues were so interesting (sorry for the many questions from my side =)), your evening shows always gave positive emotions and unforgettable memories. You are the best!

It is also important to note that we did not meet any russians, which was our main goal.

Finally, we had one unpleasant experience when some male tourists started shouting at me and my child for making a little noise. It was a terrible situation, but the local chef dealt with them and other tourists tried to show us support. Therefore, this situation did not spoil our expectations and impressions, and I can confidently put *****

Rooms are pretty big and clean (for Egypt). Service is OK. Cosmetic set, hair dryer are in bathroom. We arrived at 23.00 but they served a dinner with drinks for us. No need fighting for place near the pool and on the beach. There is a relax beach and pool also where no music and animation. Food is very tasty Vine and beer is not bad. Strong alcohol is local and not good.

The room is spacious, the food is variety and they serve you a good food. The staffs are very friendly, they can speak Italians, Arabic and Englisch mostly. The Gemma time is one hour in advance to Cairo Time. They have tennis court and plenty restaurant and shows. It is just a bit far away from everything.

Great place, a lot of green, pools are clean and one of them is heated which is a nice addition in colder times. Beach - also great. A lot of space and plenty places to take a nice rest. And now something about staff - everyone is very polite and nice. Especially one guy is my favourite (a waiter) - Mohamed Nassar. Funny as hell and very helpful.

Super hotel, great service. Unfortunately it’s far from the airport and safari trips and stuff like this. But great hotel to relax. Entertainment can improve lot of things do more program for people even in Winter period. Lot of Italian people that’s true, but it’s all ok till you treat people the same way no matter from where u come from. Respect must be on the same line! So peace and love for everyone.

One of the biggest highlights was the food quality. Each day offered a variety of fresh and flavorful options, with excellent dishes served at the main restaurants as well as by the pool and beach. From authentic pizza and sandwiches to sweet treats and snacks, everything was top-notch. The drinks were equally impressive—no watered-down cocktails here! Generous pours of quality alcohol, great coffee, and fantastic wine reflected the resort’s dedication to excellence.

The resort itself feels like a picturesque village, full of serene corners to relax and lively areas for entertainment. Multiple pools, beautiful hidden spots, and a well-thought-out layout make it an ideal destination for those looking to unwind.

If there’s one thing that truly sets Gemma Resort apart, it’s the staff. They treat guests as people, not as walking ATMs—something truly priceless. There’s no sense of obligation to tip, yet their service is so genuine that we felt happy to do so at the end of our stay. Their warmth and professionalism made our experience even more special.

During our visit in mid-February, the resort was peaceful, not overcrowded, and the weather was pleasant, albeit a bit windy at times. We noticed that many guests were returning visitors, mostly from Italy (about 90%).

Gemma Resort exceeded all expectations, offering top-tier hospitality, fantastic food, and a relaxing environment. It’s perfect for those looking to unwind and enjoy a stress-free vacation. We wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality getaway. A huge thank you to the owners, management, and staff—we hope to return soon!
