Alda Galería Coruña in La Coruna

Central location in old town and very a very nicely decorated room with the barest of amenities: two paper cups, no tissues, hard mattress, and one small pillow. Coffee machine in the lobby doesn't work, the internet and WiFi was down when we arrived, and self check-in machine didn't work. We arrived at 8 pm and the front desk was closed. I called the customer service phone number posted on the front door and nobody answered! I had to search the web for an alternate number and I finally got someone on the phone. It took well over a half hour to complete check-in since the lack of wifi and limited internet access made it difficult for my credit card to go through. I prepaid for the first night, but they wanted full payment in advance for all three nights. The woman on the phone needed to get permission from a supervisor to allow me to check in for the room I had already paid for!! I booked directly with this hotel's website but they provided no prior check-in information nor did they advise about the limited hours of the front desk. I called in advance to confirm parking and they provided limited. As a result, I ended up in the wrong lot instead of their preferred lot. Fortunately, the next day, when there was a staff member at the front desk, he was very helpful. Overall, given the price, unpleasant experience, and terrible service and communication with this hotel, I would never select this chain again.
