However, the majority of the staff fell short of expectations. We didn’t feel genuinely welcomed or catered to, like you will in Asia or Middle East. Except for the receptionist during our check in, which I felt, went above and beyond, the rest of the staff doesn't go the extra mile. This is just a job and finding another one will not be an issue. Hence, not real desire to service and acknowledging that guests pay their salaries.
There’s room for improvement in making visitors feel at home and appreciated, it’s worth noting that cultural differences may play a role. In Spain returning a simple greeting might be considered a favor. Thus, lots of potential but a long way to get there.
