Not LGBT friendly.
Myself and my Boyfriend stayed at Catalonia for our Anniversary. We enjoyed the large pool, selection of food, cleanliness and ease of access throughout the hotel. However, the majority of staff there are not LGBT friendly. They made their opinions and judgements very clear to us.
The dining staff in their restaurant repeatedly asked us “have you paid, have you paid” as we were leaving. On one occasion we were chased out by a lady to “make sure you’ve paid”. Although we had already charged to the room.
Their restaurant have a “dress code” which we completely understand and can respect. On one night we went down for dinner and were denied entry due to the fact I was wearing a vest top. I went back to my room and changed and was allowed in. I was then very annoyed to find 4 men walking round wearing a vest top. Over the next few days there were more and more men wearing vest tops that I was denied entry for wearing.
One night I was going down to the pool and found myself stuck in the lift. I used the emergency phone inside the lift which contacted the front desk. They assured me someone was on their way to help me. I was waiting 30 minutes and had no response. I then heard people outside trying to get the doors open for around 5 minutes and they weren’t answering me. They then went off so I used the phone again and the lady at the desk said “they can’t find the lift” even though I heard people trying to get the doors open. Another 15 minutes or so had passed and someone came to open the doors. I then had to jump out of the broken lift (pictured).
Inside our room (308), in the corner by the air con, the paint was peeling off of the walls and the air con was discoloured a tar yellow. Unfortunately we did not get a picture of this.
We will not be staying here again.

We loved the hotel. Very clean . Staff were professional and accommodating . Restaurant food was good and can’t fault the breakfast selection. Very close to the sea, restaurants and bars.
The downsides for us were the room was tired and needed renovating. Very dated. The pool was freezing so hardly anyone went in it , such a shame. Smelt a lot of cannabis on the premises .

. Lovely on the outside a disaster inside. Air cons leaking full off mould. Cracked tiles and flooring. Food ok . Staff grumpy 😠 lifts constantly broke. Food hall is a regime being told what to wear and where to sit . Wouldn't mind if hotel matched the standards they expect.
Loungers round pool broken or cracked . Kids disco wasn't on once in a week . Room dusty under beds on arrival . So had to clean room ourselves . Maid generally coming 4.30 - 5 30 in day to so called clean rooms. Make sure to double check doors when closing them going put. As ours had to be tugged at to close fully. Reception had no interest in our complaints . Wouldn't stay here again. More bags hotels in tenerife are cleaner

On arrival everything seemed ok. Next day after closer inspection the premium room that we had upgraded to with TUI certainly was not premium. If I hadn’t up graded to premium room which allows you access to roof top pool I would not have got a sunbed by the large pool. Roof top pool no bar or toilets. The phone did not work in bedroom & the one in the bathroom was hanging off the wall. The laminate floor has spaces between so had to always have fit flops on. The room was cleaned the first day (3.30) but no towels, had to wait 2hrs for them. They seem to either don’t employ enough staff or just can’t clean rooms. Have had an issue everyday, staff not interested. Eventually decided today to speak with a manager who wrote it all down but again it didn’t seem to bother him about trying to keep paying customers happy. Spoke with a few holiday makers & all saying the same. Very mediocre service, food & facilities. Will not be back

10 out of 10 for a 3 star hotel. Nice relaxed atmosphere around the place. The staff are brilliant and very friendly throughout the hotel. You always get a nice welcome each day. My room was perfect with a brilliant view. The pool area is nice and the pool is warm. Good location to everything else in las Americas. A lovely stay and will return.

I recently stayed at this hotel for a week with my family, and unfortunately, our experience was significantly impacted by the behavior of the neighboring guests. They were disruptive throughout the night, playing loud music and creating a considerable amount of noise, which disturbed our family, especially the children.

On one occasion, I was startled awake at 2 AM due to their activities, which included the misuse of a fire extinguisher and damage to hotel property. This led to a very unpleasant end to our vacation, as we lost two nights of sleep.

While I commend the hotel staff for their friendliness, I found their response to our situation lacking. Despite raising our concerns with management, there was no offer of compensation or resolution, which was disappointing.

As someone who travels frequently, I understand that not every accommodation can be a five-star experience. However, I would advise families with children to consider alternative options, as our stay was marred by the behavior of those next door.

In closing, I hope the hotel can address these issues for future guests. Thank you for considering my feedback.

Location wise you cannot go wrong with this hotel.
As you walk out if you go left you will end up in Playas Las Americas.
If you go right you will end up in Los Cristianos.
Plenty to do with great transportation and transfers available near by.

Most staff are very helpful and polite.
I dealt with a lovely lady called Monica who was very accommodating and welcoming throughout my stay always greeting guests with a smile along with really going the extra mile.

The hotel itself is clean and has fantastic facilities such as a roof top pool area, a gym and great dining options.
Having breakfast and dinner here is completely worth it fresh good quality with much to choose from.
There are normally 2 chefs also making fresh pancakes or pasta in the evening if you do not fancy what is laid out.

Rooms are more than a fair size for what you pay and most come with some sort of view.

Overall I had a lovely stay and I have nothing bad to say I would highly recommend this hotel.
You really do get what you pay for here.

Amazing hotel! Genuinely unsure as to the experience of other guests with the poor reviews, our experience has been nothing short of amazing. We arrived late on the Saturday night, checked straight in and gone to the rooms. We paid for a deluxe room, 2 of the rooms were renovated and one wasn’t, however this wasn’t an issue. I enquired the next morning about upgrading our room as we were the only couple in the group, the hotel did this for a small fee and without any fuss! Breakfast is good, cooked breakfasts, cereal, omelete station and pancake station, can’t ask for much more! Staff are so friendly, rooms are clean (I think the ‘dirt’ refered to in other reviews is actually worn silicone around the baths etc, definitely a point for the hotel to fix but the rooms were clean).

Overall would recommend 100% and will stay again!

Me and my boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed our time here at the hotel.
The breakfast buffet is amazing, so many options and staff are always attentive and helpful.
The dinner is more of a hit or miss with the food, some of it seems to be dry under the hot lamps but not a major issue.
The pool is lovely. However, the one particular old ish life guard is pretty aggressive. His tone towards some guests can come across as rude. He shouts at kids with balls in the pools, however other life guards let this happen, so it can be confusing which rules to go by and which to not.

The room was lovely. Very spacious and nice bathroom, with a lovely mini fridge. Only problem with the room was that there was only one plug socket which made it very annoying to charge our multiple gadgets. However it wasn’t a major problem for us.
The cleaners always make sure the room is perfect every day and make the beds to perfection.

The entertainment is okay, it’s more aimed at young children and I think it goes on a bit too late. Sometimes the entertainment goes on past 12am and it kept us up for a while, however we knew this before coming so can’t really blame hotel, just maybe turn down music the later it gets?

This is possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I would highly suggest you keep clear of this hotel if you’re looking to have a stress free trip, where you know your belongings will be kept safe in your room when you go out. There was 6 of us on this trip, split into two rooms. Thankfully, nothing has been stolen from our room. However on the second day my friend’s bag was stolen out of her room when the cleaners have been in along with €100. May I add that this was our first holiday away without our families, which can be a daunting experience as it is, let alone having to always be cautious of your belongings. My friends reported this to reception, who said they couldn’t do anything about it and they had to inform the police. The next morning, a staff member (absolutely no idea who it was or what his role was within the hotel) came into my friends room who are 16 and 19, shouting and yelling in what they think was Spanish. He started tapping the end of my friend’s bed, they had no idea what he was saying and he left the room. They later discovered that he had been asking if they needed that bed, as when they returned to the room their spare bed was gone. As young girls who were asleep, waking up to this was absolutely terrifying. As for the food it is awful, the worst buffet I’ve ever seen in a hotel abroad. The food is bland and a lot of the time inedible. I spent my week eating bread and chips. Breakfast was a little bit better, but still poor. The cleaners were coming in mine and my friend’s room to change the bins, but not doing anything else. I felt so unsafe in this hotel. Absolutely awful experience and I will NOT be back.
