Really Barcelo gets 3 for value for money. This should be a great location, however my first impression on arrival is, I'm a Sausage being processed by the machine. It's all great. But had i bought it all individually, food, room, drink... it would have been better... without the butchers welcome on the first day or the excessively long walk to the room from reception.

Myself and my partner have just returned home from our 6 night all-inclusive stay at this hotel. We arrived to a bad start - the receptionist didn’t speak much English and couldn’t answer many of our initial questions. Great place for families. Good service overall, with good food and decent drinks offer. Rooms with good space (we were 2 adults and 2 kids with 4 and 8) but some of the room utilities showing some wear and tear issues, but nothing was a blocker. Magic Room was a great family experience. We've done it last year and we liked it very much, so much we decided to repeat the experience this year. Alba and António were great hosts. The rest of the resort is very clean and cosy. It's the 6th time we've spent holidays here, I suppose that says a lot.

May is definitely a great time to visit! It’s just before the tourist crowds roll in for the summer. The weather is warm and the ocean is cold! This resort has a great pool, is just steps from the beach, and situated on a nature preserve. Quiet, and relaxing.

Hotel is great with a fantastic location and the staff are amazing, however as in many places sunbeds at the pool were reserved and not used and no controls over that leaving many guests with no place to sun bathe

When we arrived at the Nuevo Portil Hotel we were warmly greeted by Francisco, who was very fluent in English and explained everything to us very detailed. Only problem booked golf with a buggy due to wife's incapacity. First day was so busy took over 5 hours to play 13 holes, so we did not complete the round. Second day no buggy available for our tee time so the golf has been a waste of time.

Nice golf hotel with an excellent service. All staff very professional and the concept off three different choices at the three course dinner worked well. The golf course was in good shape and the greens held high standard. Unfortunately the driving range did not at all meet the standards. Old golf balls hard as stones. We have been there for a few days. I'm going to summarize it. For what it has cost us and to be a 3-star hotel, a TEN. Pool with a phenomenal atmosphere (until 22 HRS) Full breakfast (for that price, what do you want) Overall decent cleanliness. Facilities consistent with their age, but working perfectly. We loved this experience! We did not hesitate to return, the staff was very friendly and responsive to any questions we had. Like the maids, impeccable cleanliness and extraordinary treatment. The pool was wonderful, comfortable and with plenty of hours for a last minute dip. Nice place and wonderful people.

Modest rooms at a not so modest price. The rooms are clean but dated and noisy since the doors are thin and the corridors do not have carpet.

A typical cheap and cheerful hotel. The irony being on cheap, as its not that cheap. It's clean and close to everything in the area and has all the basic necessities one could need. Breakfast is pretty weak but there are plenty of bars in area where you can get some decent food. The Seafood in the area is some of the best on the world.

The only thing is the activities are only for kids over 4y.o which it does not give the opportunity to the youngers to join even if the parents around. The location as well as the facility as a whole with the extensive park with direct access over the cliffs to the beach, the large rooms. Parts of the hotel especially the bar and the restaurant were recently renovated, which in total contributed to a very nice appearance. The whole hotel fits excellently into the landscape.

The reason I gave a five star review of this Parador lies in the lack of pretentiousness of the place and its downright simplicity. Of couse staff is also professional and kind. Hotel and service is good but not more then average.between eating times there is not a lot of snacks to get. dinner rooms are not very large so it can be crowdy and also to get drink there is often time to wait.

The nearest supermarket is 10 minutes away, so it's a bit in the middle of nowhere. Rooms are amazing, lots of room and extremely clean. All inclusive is a bit weird as you have to pay for most of the survices even tho you booked all inclusive. Food is good, no more no less. It isn't anything special.

Great place, lovely vibe. Rooms are super spacious and cozy, mattresses are made of stone, internet is barely useable, also from the stone age. (the wifi is 1.5Mb down... phone hotspot 40Mb down...which is also wireless... l o l ) Fine for a night though!

Lovely hotel, rooms a little basic. Breakfast was a challenge as the hot food was always on the cool side and the bacon was like chewing rubber. Location is on the quiet side but the grounds and pool area definitely the best bit of the hotel.

It was the perfect place for a business conference. The building and rooms were well taken care of. The food was excellent and plentiful.

We have loved this hotel from the very first time, so we returned again after 2 years, the place near the sand afore, gardens of the hotel very nice, the town clean but poor in services and restaurants out of season, lots of buildings all empty end of may, must be very very crowded in high season. The period we have been there, mid may, there has been lots of children (school classes), running around...

Very good Hotel with a wide range of services and activities to do inside it. The food is good, where you have different dishes for all wishes and tastes. Everyday you have an after dinner show, where you can enjoy and laugh with the performance of Ernesto. You can also participate in the show. Definitely, was an experience which we'll repeat.

Amazing hotel with good service, good food variety and nice bedrooms. Nonetheless, has loads of kids and can be a bit noise in the nights. It's 3min walk from the beach. The hotel has a entertainment team that every day in the morning, afternoon and night have some activities for everyone (pool party, dance party, foam party, slides, hydro party, polo aquatic games).

Overall it’s an ok place. Room is nice, though balconies facing the back pool are very noisy. Breakfast is a mixed bag with some nice items but some of the staff are poorly-trained and could be more hospitable to guests. Great place to stay with the kids and perfectly located right next to the beach. Only downside is that dinner is served after 9pm and entertainment is after 10:30pm so if you have young children they might not last fo catch the shows.

We are quite familiar with this hotel's new chain owner, so it was a surprise to find it slightly underprepared for the number of visitors that weekend. The result was a chaotic check-in (and check-out), subpar catering on the first day, and a number of small details that could only be tolerated because the personnel's courteous and unstoppable willingness to solve and eliminate those faults was noticeable...

Nice location and hotel, however the staff members are not trained in hospitality. The hotel manager was very nice and tried to solve some issues. F&B department needs a lot of training on the other hand unfortunately. Overall I would say from a hospitality person that this hotel is a 3 stars.

Fantastic place to getaway for a holiday, unspoilt, no English bars,nice to mix with different nationalities, think it might be getting a refurbishment, saw couple of fellas walking around with draughtsman drawings,which would be a bonus even if its just a minor one. For a 4 star hotel I was expecting better rooms. The side view sea was a deception. The way the walls are made don't allow to have great view from the balcony. It was a great place to visit if u want to have a nice time

A bit far (for walking) from the beach. Pool is OK and the garden furniture is good. Restaurant is sometimes crowded but the food is fairly good; for the people more picky there is a cook with a hot-plate grilling fish or meat. Staff is OK. Also, the rooms and bathrooms could use some renovation. Well, it is a good hotel but does not seem like a 4 star... I would say a 3 star...

Rooms need renovation. Buffet breakfast is ok but has plenty of room to improve (fresh juices for example). Price was pretty cheap though. Everything was correct & acceptable. Overall, not bad, fair enough
