Barceló Punta Umbría Beach Resort

Overall not a bad experience. The resort is well organized, the food wasn't bad and the pools and kids entertainment are nice as well. Regardless, i can't give more than 3 stars simply because of how rude the bartenders are. Always serving you as if you're bothering them. You cannot ask anything outside a gin tonic, beer and any other drink that is already premade in their cointainers (be advised, extremely sweet all of them). If you ask for a proper drink to be made on the spot they will deny to do it. One of them even trew her hands in the air, walked away and called her supervisor, just so he could tell us, like we were kids, they won't do it (the drink was on the menu). We were never obnoxious, drunk or unpolite - this behavior was accross multiple bars, and over 10-15 people in a week's time. In this specific situation we resorted to ask the ingredients to be served seperatly and made the mojito right in front of them, that's how ridiculous it was. I understand you might not be allowed to serve items outside the menu, or everybody would simply rush and ask for the craziest cocktails, but still, just have some deciency to have a sign or be polite explainning it. People are paying an all inclusive stay, the minimum you can do is a couple of drinks. To be very clear, this was specific to the bartenders and servers at the bar. All the other personal was extremely nice.

Nice clean well maintained Hotel located in a quiet area across the road from the lovely beach and approx 2km from town centre. 3.5 stars for me.... Rooms are large enough, clean, with huge beds and adjustable ice cold air con. The staff are friendly and helpful and genuinely seem to care. The Gym is very good, large, well stocked, and my wife gave a thumbs up to the Spa and beauty treatments. Drinks all of good quality with many branded beers and spirits available to all inclusive guests. The food was of good quality from several restaurants and never short of choice. Downside for us was not the hotel or staff but amount of other guests with toddlers who were running free and screaming in the restaurants at each meal, to the extent we stopped going for meals during the day as noise became unbearable, we do have our own children BTW who also commented the noise was just too much. We travelled with Jet2 via Faro who added no value what so ever to our holiday, no contact, no rep, no trips, nothing. We would deffo have been better off travelling independently via Seville and train/bus and saved the extra cost. I did have a look at the smaller sister Hotel Umbria Mar across the road which did look quieter and maybe a better choice if travelling without young children. I likely wouldn't return to this hotel, but would come back to Punta Umbria maybe to the Umbria Mar.
