Garden Playanatural - Adults Only Hotel

It’s surreal to read so many reviews about the amazing staff, when as a group of 9 paying customers we were treated like a nuisance. I try to be fair with my comments and err on the positive but don’t ignore the warnings of those with a less than a positive review. The majority of staff (not all) but most were unhappy, unfriendly, unhelpful, not at all there to offer a nice experience, but merely to do a job, get paid and go home. And these are the people who made a stronger impact on us, not the polite and friendly ones. They are clearly overworked and overwhelmed. But I think everyone who chooses this hotel pays a decent amount of hard earned money and would enjoy it more if the service was better.

The food was bland and uninspired. I get that they have to cook massive amounts of food and most will be frozen but we had no other options of dining in a restaurant and pay for something nicer. Rushed through meals, met with a no to almost every request, bound by countless rules about number of drinks, what we can order and when, where we can sit or not. It just felt like there was no desire to offer a generous and kind experience. Took us almost a week to get even a smile out of some of the staff. The hotel is tired and outdated, the pool tiles broken, the rooms are fine, but full of mosquitoes and cockroaches and flies and no efficient way to manage this by the hotel. The plug ins offered resulted in dead bugs all over the room and our stuff. We kept every window and door closed but still came back to our rooms filled with flies and mosquitos so I can only guess the cleaning staff leave the doors open or something. I really wish we had a better experience and not used so much energy in feeling negative about it. But we would not recommend this hotel to anyone and won’t be coming back

We had high expectations from this all-inclusive resort, but unfortunately, it really missed the mark. We were hoping the Spanish hospitality would be as friendly and accommodating as we’ve experienced in other areas, but this was the complete opposite. The atmosphere felt hostile, especially at reception, where every request was met with abrupt, short replies—usually just a flat-out “no”.

To be fair, the premises are clean and look nice, but the food is very basic and underwhelming. You’re rushed through mealtimes, the restaurant is overly bright, and the staff make so much noise it’s impossible to enjoy a relaxed meal. They wouldn’t even allow us to put a couple of tables together to sit with our family—again, just “no, can’t do”.

There are so many strict rules across the resort that you feel like a child walking on eggshells. The rooms are fine but not especially comfortable. Expect loud air conditioning and to hear toilet noises from the neighbouring rooms all night.

Despite being sold as an adults-only experience, we saw children around the age of 10–12 during our stay.

Entertainment is nothing special either, though I get that’s subjective.

There are some positives here, but sadly the negatives outweigh them for us. We wouldn’t recommend staying here.
