Catalonia Hotel

If I could give zero stars, I would.
I recently stayed here and had one of the worst experiences ever. The bathroom was filthy — dirt built up between tiles and a cracked sink.

What shocked me was a laminated notice only in Chinese warning not to spill water outside the tub. Chinese isn’t Spain’s official language — why only Chinese? That felt discriminatory.

At breakfast, tour groups were separated from other guests, and the food quality was worse. For about 70 people, there was only one coffee machine. When I was picking up food with a tong, a staff member suddenly grabbed it from my hand and threw it away without a word — extremely rude.

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Posting this to warn others.

My stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival, I found the carpet in the corridor dirty, and during the night water was dripping from the ceiling, leaving a large puddle in my room by morning. To make matters worse, the side mirror in the room was already broken, the soap holder had been glued to the wall instead of properly fixed and fell off in the middle of the night, and the TV lost its sound with no way to unmute it.

Outside the hotel, cockroaches were running around on the sidewalk. While this is technically not the hotel’s responsibility, it did not create a pleasant impression. Additionally, although I had requested parking in my reservation, none was provided. The biggest issue, however, was that I intended to pay in cash, yet the receptionist charged my credit card without my authorization. This not only disrupted my account balance, but when I complained, I was told that a refund would take up to 10 days, which left me unable to pay for my next accommodation.

When I raised these issues, I did not even receive an apology—only a dismissive “goodbye.”

Overall, while my stay was not the absolute worst, I deeply regret choosing this place, especially as there are better-quality hotels in the area at lower prices.

Overall, the hotel is good, but the room was not ready even after 3 PM, and I had to wait more than an hour to get it. This ruined my plans for the day and was very inconvenient. The hotel staff said it was not their problem and made no attempt to help. The receptionist was quite rude.
