Medplaya Aparthotel Esmeraldas

We are currently staying in this hotel, it is the second day now.
Can't give full review at this stage yet, however, just a quick note on something that might need to be considered before you choose this hotel, it is clean enough hotel for a 3 star, hotel is a bit boring, but the only reason that we choose this hotel is because in the reviews online that it is quiet hotel. We were going to use this hotel as a base to explore Tossa de mar. However, we have been assigned to a room that overlooks another hotel - it's across the street. This hotel has a large swimming pool and is full of activities day and night. There is a lot of noise which day and night. Me and my husband have not been sleeping well for the past two days. We have asked reception after the first night to change the room. They showed us a few rooms which were available to change on the day, however, they were on the same side of the hotel. It would not make much difference in terms of noise, so we declined. I asked could we move to other side of the hotel. Long story short, they told us it is possible to move to a room on the other side hotel the next day, so we had another sleepless night and all packed and ready to move, and when we ask about the room today, the guy in reception told us it is not possible. He said because someone else have been assigned the room to others even though he left a message about our room swap, and he told us if he try to swap us he will upset other important people, it looks like they have customers who is more important then us. This hotel have lost our only purpose for us to stay, and we are stuck in this room for next 5 days with loads of noise so, wish us luck, our holiday is partly ruined with lack of sleep, I don't think we will come to this hotel again, however, for anyone want to stay in this hotel, and want a quiet room, request pool side of the room before you come over. I will do an update review on Tossa de mar after our holiday.

Don’t book this hotel! They are unprofessional! The hotel cancelled my booking without asking me and still charged my money. Now my order status is cancelled and no response of the payment, no refund!

Very disappointed! Our room was disgusting, shower was dirty, no warm water and the cleaning lady took all of our towels without replacing them or cleaning the room. Our trash was never taken out, we didn’t get any extra trash bags, she never made our beds and the breakfast area is SO DIRTY!! overall a horrible experience and we will never come back!! Not to mention the price we payed 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️
This hotel should not have 3 starts!!!!!!! One star is more than enough….

Overall, the experience was disappointing. While the city itself is fantastic, the hotel didn't live up to expectations. For a thousand euros for four days, I was expecting, at the VERY LEAST, a clean room. The reception told us they would clean the room on the second day, but it never happened. Even after asking twice, they only changed our towels and didn't bother to clean the bathroom.
They charge 20 euros per day for the garage and didn't even offer the cheaper parking spot.
The shower is scalding hot. If you don't want to burn your skin, you're forced to take a cold shower.
Last but not least, some members of the staff were unfriendly. It seems there's a lack of training on how to interact with guests.
