Sercotel Valencia Alameda 41 in Valencia

Bit disappointed booking.com made it so complicated, I ended up booking the wrong Sercotel as we wanted a pool and jacuzzi! I am also sure I pressed the breakfast included option. So was surprised when for £675 we had no breakfast included. For over £700 for 4 days, for room
Only and two breakfasts and no extras I thought it was very pricey indeed. I think because there are snatched views of the museum etc they are charging a but too high.
Plus it took us ages to find it. The satnav leaves you in a street nearby but the sign over the door of the hotel is so small you can easily miss it! We drive around for over 20 minute and just saw it by chance.
Breakfast was lovely but you are served yoghurt with muesli, fruit and a croissant.
No other choice.
Then a choice of various muffins with savoury options on them with one coffee. It was lovely but do prefer a buffet breakfast where I can eat what I fancy and have more than one cup of coffee and juice. We laughed at the fact that despite how much we paid for the room they gave us one sugar one coffee one milk sachet per day and when we asked for more we got ONE of everything. No more, no less. Only 7 hangers in the wardrobe. Loved the fact you could open the windows to get some fresh air. Who had the idea to have a double flashing fire alarm
Directly above the bed. The flash was so bright at night I could see it through my eyelids!
The hotel is situated on the first floor all the way along the building so it’s a long walk to your room if you are at the other end.
Room was ok, was really hoping they’d be a carpet but was laminate. Very clean. Very contemporary.
No iron.
We had to ask and to be fair they were there within minutes. The staff are exceptionally friendly and always had a smile as were the breakfast staff. Superb location for the oceanographic and museum etc. then we realised there is free parking everywhere around the centre of Valencia. This was a must for us until we saw on our arrival a whole street outside the hotel full of free parking. (There are men that stand by spaces and guide you in, don’t be fooled they will ask you for money as they claim they held the space for you!) Even better for disabled parking throughout the whole city you will find them. You literally walk into the main centre along the bio park paths. Beautiful spaces well worth the stroll. Would recommend a bicycle or scooter for better getting around. So don’t worry about parking and know everything is pretty close. Don’t let that sway where you stay. All in all we are gutted we spent so much money on a room when we could have paid half and had more facilities to enjoy after traipsing the city and attractions.
Great restaurants below the hotel and along the street.
