The good, the bad and the….

The primary reason to stay here is if you want to pay extra for a nice view of the cathedral of El Pilar from some of the rooms. Other than that almost any hotel in the old city has a “great” location.

The bed was comfortable and housekeeping top notch. The hotel was quieter than I expected other than guests who “allow” room doors to slam behind them. A problem not unique to this hotel.

There is no coffee service or phone in the room and more importantly no safe, which in this day and age should be a standard feature.

The room we had was in need of some serious maintenance. The sliding door to the bathroom was next to impossible to use without a lot of effort and noise. It had obviously been that way for some time. There also was a long vertical crack in the wall under the TV. Not sure if they were having new issues with the small elevator or the mornings were just really busy but it seemed like playing the lottery.

We were locked out of our room during our stay for reasons which are unclear. When my wife went to get us new keys, they said they could only give her one because they were too busy. Given the amount of nights we spent here I think they could’ve made a little extra effort.
