Scandic Station Hotel

First impressions, rather lack lustre. Room is ok other than the “wired down” outdoor furniture on the deck which you cannot move, cannot adjust, cannot use to gain full access to the deck you paid for ( no word of a lie half the deck is useless), and then the construction, not the hotel’s fault I get it, but it certainly does not enhance an already questionable stay. We have a room with its own sauna, it was difficult to program and needs some technical assistance via temp controls so in hindsight paying MORE for this feature that didn’t function properly along with the useless “patio”, do yourself a favour, either book a basic room here or better yet stay somewhere else. Breakfast was by far the least appealing so far on a four week journey through Scandinavia. None of the dishes were even remotely warm (let alone hot) except for the beans, AND unlike every other hotel we have stayed at during our trip (other Scandic’s included) this place charges you $4.50 Euro if you want a latte or cappuccino with your breakfast, that’s just plain rude. Hotel obviously needs some upgrading, it is looking a bit tired. Other than that, I think next time we will choose another property, lord knows there are plenty to choose from in this area. Oh ya, and our bathroom flooded during our shower, had to get maintenance up to fix it (used all of our towels to keep the water at bay……) this place is losing stars by the minute….check photos.

When we entered our room it was ok. After the first day and the "cleaning" by the hotel it was not: the only thing they had done was to empty the waste basket. Bed was not done, there was waste on the floor and the bathroom was a total mess. The floor of the bathroom was dirty end unhygienic. When we complained, they said that they only clean the room between the gusts. Funny, because they charge you for cleaning every day. I will never go to this hotel again.

There are major road works all around this hotel currently (June 2025) and certainly when we were there in May. Getting to and from the train station is a major obstacle course
Nowhere on the hotel website did it explain this, or the noise level of the major works...thankfully not at the weekend, however it did affect our stay. There is a small sign at the check-in desk notifying guests of the problems with an apology, but that's it.
Poor, not to be recommended until works are completed. It is a reasonable 3 * hotel

A 4-Stars hotel without bananas or fresh apples but scrambled egg from a Tetra-pack for breakfast.... if you think that's impossible, just go to the Scandic Station in Tampere!
