Holiday Club Caribia Hotel

It's an old hotel, which does have its charms. Unsure about the room cleanliness... One of us found a grape on the floor and we had a strange brown, foul-smelling brown lump stuck on the bathroom door... 😱 There's no housekeeping though I do see the carts, staff weren't particularly friendly, the room was a little incomplete (missing some included amenities). The hotel buffet is abysmal. Dishes seemed...dirty. There were stains and leftover food (?) on some of the plates. Breakfast is passable due to variety but lunch and dinner are pretty awful. The main "hot" dishes tended to be way overcooked to the point of it being complete mush. Absolutely NOT worth the price for the buffet.

This is the year 2025, awareness should be everywhere, and it seems to me that the hotel management is either completely unaware, not selfreflected enough or simply sympathising with colonialist structures and reinforcing racism and stereotyping by choosing this type of interior. One thing is that hotel architecture and/or design stopped evolving in the 80s or 90s, but if cultural and historical awareness and professionalism stopped evolving even then, then clearly the concept and strategy needs to be rethought!

Additionally the scrambled eggs (breakfast) tasted like chemically processed plastic :(

During my recent stay in Turku, for 20 days I resided in the Villa Apartments. Unfortunately, I encountered several issues during my stay. Firstly, the bed linens were stained with what appeared to be blood, or something like that which was quite unsettling.

Additionally, the WiFi connectivity in my room was severely inadequate, lacking strong signals. I found that even when attempting to access the internet from the balcony, there was no connectivity available.
To utilize my laptop effectively, I was compelled to position myself near the entrance door, which is quite inconvenient.

It is disappointing to experience such shortcomings, especially considering the premium rates charged for accommodations.
. However, the state of the bed linens and the internet connectivity significantly detracted from my overall experience.

stayed 5 nights with small child and 2 adults. Upon entering the building i walked to the reception desk and the staff was not welcoming. No hello just advised she was busy. In the rooms there was mold on the floor in the bathroom. The walls were dirty. There was no cleaning service during our stay (garbage removal, new towels and check to see if we needed soap or toilet paper). We ran out of toilet paper, soap and had to take garbage to the bins outside on the side of the building. I seen the cleaner who advised me that "we used to go in the rooms before covid but now we dont". So i borrowed the vacuum. Other than the breakfast buffet the food was terrible at the restaurant and no selection for someone with allergies. Although advertised the pizza restaurant is only open friday, saturday and sunday for only a few hours. Hesburger was not open Monday or tuesday and also closes early. Thankful for wolt delivery! We did enjoy the swimming and there is a store (kmarket) around the corner incase you need anything.
