The main draw of the Hotel Athanor is the location. Right in the heart of Beaune, we were able to walk and explore everywhere. The staff were kind and welcoming but the front entrance / stairs could have used a deeper clean. There was a towel on the floor in front of a door to a small courtyard (with a run down table and chairs) that seemed oddly placed. The AC in the rooms was a nice perk and the beds were comfy. Hotel was quiet at night.
The website is mis-leading on parking availability. There is no parking on site, only street parking which is paid from 9am - 7pm. They directed us to a free city lot about 10 minute walk away which was full so we had to pay for street parking for our entire stay.

A lovely central hotel with everything you'd need for a lovely stay in Beaune.
A local carpark just 4 mins walk away.
Comfy, clean and reasonably priced.
Staff were friendly and helpful.

The best ever as it was really authentic and the whole city is amazing disconnect from the city life.

This hotel is a good deal in the heart of Beaune. I'm truly puzzled by some of the reviews I read that stated no hot water, noisy. I experienced neither. There was a tiny bit of mold in the shower corners but unless you are a snowflake you can survive this. The staff was cheerful and helped me book taxis daily.

This is a 3 star hotel but of that category this was a 5 star experience for us.
We booked one night in Beaune as an overnight stop on a long journey. Beaune was recommended as a beautiful little town and it truly was one of the loveliest little medieval towns that we have visited. Great selection of restaurants and the one next to the hotel was amazing.
The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful. We phoned in the morning to say we were unlikely to arrive before the reception shut at 9pm and they noted this and tried calling us to check about our arrival in the evening.
The hotel is in a wonderful position inside the old town, close to the main squares and attractions.
Buffet breakfast was also very good, full continental plus eggs, sausage and bacon.
The room was lovely though a little small.

Good location ( a lot of restaurants around in the town) plus free parking in the parking lot around the corner. The staff were nice the only issue we have was the bathroom in our room was flooded when we turned on the shower it flooded the whole bathroom we went down in the evening to let the staff know and they were closed let them know the next day and they said they knew about that already why didn't they fix the bathroom shower that was flooding the bathroom???

We stayed at this hotel few days ago and I can only recommend. Very nice hotel in the centre of Beaune with excellent breakfast. In the morning we had problem with the taxi to get to the airport, and lady at reception helped us incredibly to be at the airport on time, we were very greatful for this help. Thank you!!!

My husband and I spent a couple of nights here during our stay in Beaune. We arrived in the midst of the Wine and Food festival and were eager to check it out so the staff was accommodating and put us in a room before the scheduled check-in. The room was very comfortable and had a nice view of the town square. The hotel is located in the city center right by the main church so we were close to all the activity related to the wine festival. While we didn't spend any time at the bar or playing pool, we did like that these were options that the hotel offered. It was also convenient that they offered breakfast!
