Great people and location. Front desk staff speak English and couldn’t have been nicer or more efficient. We got an upgrade without asking. Our room had a terrace facing the old cite and bridge. Mini bar was stocked with waters and juices at no charge. Breakfast buffet was complete with make your own mimosas.

For a comfortable, clean, cool room - absolutely this place was great. For a wider range of amenities - I would have been disappointed. The staff we did encounter were friendly but seemed frazzled and few in number. Breakfast was chaos so we didn't even sample the food. The parking situation isn't great if you don't manage to score one of their "private" spots - but even those are kind of a wild-west...

Perfect location! Breakfast was amazing! Fresh breads, cheeses, exotic fruit, coffee, salmon,.....My only complaint was the room was very warm. I did go down after 2 nights of being hot & they adjusted the temp. It helped but was still rather warm. It was also in July so it was hot out. The employees were all very friendly. I would stay here again for sure.

Hotel du Roi in Carcassonne was an overall good experience, but it feels like it used to be a much better hotel. Very nice hotel in perfect location. The hotel has a pool and a superb view of the old city of Carcassonne. It is right next to the romantic old bridge and hence only a couple of minutes from old Carcassonne. Rooms are ok; every room has old city view. Breakfast was also ok, a good selection of fresh products.

The terrace view was just incredible (from room 303). Staff was friendly, the room was cozy, and there’s a very good laundromat right across the street. It’s about a 15 min walk from the train station, and roughly a 10 min walk up to the castle grounds.

Absolutely loved this Hotel. The location is perfect being both a short walk from the new town centre and the old town. The room was large and clean with a very good shower and amazing air con!. Great location had a triple room with a river view. Hotel is a quick walk to old and new city. Credit to the cleaning staff the hotel is spotless and came back to my PJ's folded everyday and everything as it was left as it was and they kept the coffee pods and water topped up which was much appreciated. The hotel is located perfectly, in a walking distance from the Cité (the Old Town) and you will absolutely enjoy the view you get from the restaurant terrace

Really an antique hotel, this hotel built in 1914 and next year this hotel will be close because the building switch functions into a nursing home. Their bathroom is quite new, their bedroom is quite good, and they give a krups coffee and candy for complimentary. Their elevator is really antique, it's a first time I use an old elevator like that. They have a good breakfast with a lot choice of drinks

Had some trouble in the beginning with our check in for the room. But other than that it was a great hotel with a great lobby and restaurant.

Beautiful old style hotel. Beautifully decorated and stunning views of Carcassonne Castle (from many rooms). Comfortable and clean. Good location to shops and restaurants. I also noticed (vital didn't use) a room with board games down stairs. I really liked staying there and wish I got to stay more than one night.

Super nice small hotel at walking distance from the old city. Room was a bit small but quite nice. Dogs are welcome and parking is free and easy.

It was the best stay at Carcassonne, the location is superb, the attention is great. The staff would help us and inform us kindly. Beds are so comfortable and great to have our electric car charged. We will come back for sure!

Great stay here. Ginormous beds and comfy duvets. We had a nice view of the castle and would’ve had great easy access to the pool directly from the room (but pool closed due to season). Very quiet. Loved this hotel and the location! Close to the walled city ( easy walk) with lots to see and experience. The room was comfortable but on the smaller side for the USA but maybe not for European standards. It had all we needed and the property itself was beautiful. All the employees were friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

This is a very good hotel. Well maintained, ideally located for exploring the old city Carcassonne, convenient parking. Larger rooms in the far away wing are best. Breakfast could be crowded but provides everything one usually needs. Overall, a good value. I recommend it. Easy to reach from A61 motorway.

The hotel was clean and comfortable with a great location. The biggest drawback was that only jarred food to be put in a steamer was available in the bar. Atmospheric Carcassonne by day and especially at night, right outside the hotel, this is an excellent experience, well run with friendly and helpful staff throughout, modern in decoration within the old , clean and tidy. My only complaint about this lovely hotel is the perfume diffusers in the room. It was so strong I would have changed hotels if I had not pre-payed. The staff was very nice about removing the diffuser, but the perfume was saturated in the sheets and pillows so that it was difficult to sleep. Our room was stuck next to the spa, and smelled a mix of mildew, and air freshener (to cover the mildew smell). We expected the king-size bed (I believe that's what we booked). Queen-size instead. Beautiful rooms, a fantastic restaurant and bar and dog friendly too. The crémant de Limoux is delicious. The jacuzzi is small but luxurious, though the steam room was not working when we visited, so do ask before. A real treat.

We loved our stay in Carcassonne. From our arrival to our departure, the hotel staff was always helpful, professional, and courteous. Our room was like spent out of a fairytale- luxurious finishes, elegant decor, comfortable bedding. Everything was impeccably, clean, and well cared for. The hotel grounds are beautiful. We wish we could have stayed longer and look forward to visiting again.

We absolutely loved the Hotel de la Cite. Location was spectacular and our room was magnificent. We had the medieval suite which was gorgeous and historical. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Old building with massive bedroom overlooking the canal. Noisy road during the day but very quiet at night which was fortunate as there was no air con. Quite good breakfast with good coffee. Would recommend it if you're looking for a reasonably cheap stay.

Very OLD rooms. The furniture and toilets are so dated that they feel unclean, there is not even a shower, only a bathtub. The swimming pool is amazing and that is why I am giving a 3 starts rating

The staff are attentive and completely awesome. The menu didn't have anything that I would ordinarily eat, lots of snails and shrimp and foie de gras. A little too rich for my palette. It's me, not them.

The double room is small but organized ok, only 2 sockets in the room, one of which is next to the entrance door and is useless, a non-smart and tiny TV. We had a blanket with a sheet underneath, well tucked under the bedspread, something I hate in hotels because you pull the whole bed sheet when you take it off. The breakfast was tasty, more sweet options than salty.

A simple and good hotel and very close to the old city of Carcassonne. Pretty affordable with simple rooms, good beds and nice showers. The staff is kind and always willing to help. They have free but limited parking outside or else a basement that will cost €10 per night.

A clean hotel just off Gambetta Square about 10 minutes from the centre of Carcassonne and 20 minutes from the Cité. Mine was a last minute booking because of the travel disruption due to the Tour de France. I found the staff to be efficient and helpful, even finding a charger for my phone. There is parking underneath the square.

Convenient location for a short stay. Helpful staff. The smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in but clean. There is limited underground parking belonging to the hotel & , if full, guests have to park in the public underground car park in Gambetta Square. If you like tea & coffee in your room - take your own, including a kettle!

Easy check in and receptionist spoke good English, room was clean and looked newly refurbished. Continental breakfast was good value for 7 euros for as much as you can eat. 30 minute walk to town centre or a few minutes by car. Plenty of parking on site, including a secure parking area.

Friendly guy at reception. The rooms were basic but comfortable enough for a night's kip. The heating wasn't working but we were offered a small, efficient fan heater which was perfectly adequate. Situated about a mile from town. Breakfast was perfectly reasonable for the price. Better than an F1.

This must be the best value in town, the main thing is that the staff are absolutely brilliant nothing is too much trouble. Stayed here three times now and its always the same.

Very good price for a 3 person room. This was clean, with a fairly spacious ensuite, Aircon, TV and WiFi. Friendly service too at reception!

Enjoyed our stay - strange rooms as small kitchen area which even had a tiny dishwasher but very useful if you're on a budget. Pool was lovely, the only problem is the walk from the city, not too far but quite a steep hill and bus stops at 7pm. Taxis not expensive though, we liked it enough to want to stay again

Booked a room for 3 nights and we're surprised at receiving more of an apartment with full kitchen facilities, and full airconditioning. No dining facilities in house so travelled out each evening for meals. It's location is a bit of a downside, long walk into town, hence only 3 stars but good value if you don't mind driving or waiting for buses

Good value for money, big studio with fully equipped kitchen (2 cooking plates, dishwasher etc.). Decent breakfast. Free parking in front of the building. Some bathroom fixtures were broken and the free WiFi is very annoying to use.

The view from my room balcony, and from the breakfast room, could not be surpassed. The room was also so comfortable, stylish and spacious. I chose to spend more of my morning in the hotel just to soak up the views of the medieval citadel, which was also a very close walk from the hotel. My only regret is not spending another night at this property!

Although there's no car parking at the hotel, the porter service is fast and efficient. Love the mediaeval period look of the hotel with modern amenities. It's located inside the old city, so it's convenient to walk around and take photos.

How often can you say that you spent the night in a castle? This is the cutest place and super convenient. It was very hot when we were visiting Carcassonne and it was nice to be able to go back to the room and cool down for an hour when needed. The room was very nice and the service was excellent. All the staff were welcoming, warm and extremely helpful. Our bedroom was charming and quiet and we slept very well. The location within the walls of the medieval city was outstanding, We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back to stay again.

Restaurant is delicious, as well as the area surrounding. But, trust me, you don’t want to sleep in their beds. As comfortable as an army campaign bed. Go there for golf and dinner and go to sleep somewhere else.

Both the building and the surrounding garden, terrace, and pool have a good atmosphere. The room was spacious. The 1 star Michelin restaurant inside the hotel was very good and the sommelier a very nice person. Things which could be improved: sound insulation with the neighbors' rooms, the power and noise of the very old air conditioner. I would expect this fixed for a 5 star hotel.

It was near Carcassonne. But still a short drive. The hotel and pool was quiet, but the bistro was buzzing and relaxed. You can watch them teeing off up the hill. Good fun and good food.

A lovely old chateau with much character and excellent service. The staff speaks fluent English and was most helpful in planning day trips and explaining the best sites in the area to see. The upgraded rooms are big and airy with high ceilings and a small a/c unit. The grounds are stunning and there is a river nearby to walk by that leads to the city, river Aude.
