HOTEL & SPA Le Renard Centre

So, how to rate this 3 star hotel, because it is not near a 4 star hotel, maybe back in the 90's they could have gotten away with it.
To start with the room. It is outdated but clean. But most of all pretty small. A double superior room should not measure only 10 square meters. The bed was made but with the linnen inside out. The bathroom is outdated ( extremely ), which is strange for a "SPA" hotel. The minibar was empty and the towels replaced even after I hung them up to re use them again. Also not 2024 at all.
Oh and if you want a massage in this so called "SPA" hotel, you need to book that minimum 2 weeks up front. Kinda ridiculous.
Check in was with minimum amount of information (breakfast starts at 7 AM and your room number is 107, it is on the first floor). First of all; do not mention a room number outloud in a reception/bar where everybody can hear and see that I am traveling alone and some more information would have been appreciated.
On top the room is extremely noisy. You can hear people walking / running in the hallway and above you and right outside the window of room 107 is the smoking area so if you have your window open all the smoke comes inside your room.
As said before; a 3 star hotel (barely), not close to a 4 star hotel.
Hotel personnel is very friendly but not all are well educated in how you check someone in.

Our welcome was great and the location is also great. After a bit of a refreshment in our room we left for diner in the town. We noticed that the drinking glasses in our room where not really clean and that there was sand on the floor in the bathroom. Not much of a hassle. We had to leave early and wanted to take a shower when we noticed that there was sewage water coming from the bathtub (bathtub in which you had to stand to take a shower). We could not take a shower. When we mentioned it at the reception the lady was shocked: ‘so sorry’ and presented the bill. For any compensations we had to talk to the manager who was not around. We could leave our telephone umber and he would call us. It has been 2 days, no call yet…. Really disappointed and no value for money here.

Edit 10/10/22: thank you for your reaction, but the lady promised to call us back (the manager would). Till this day we haven’t had a call. We paid full rate for the room, but couldn’t take a shower because of all the dirt in the bathtub. Because we had to leave early calling roomservice would not have been the solution. A partly refund would have or from the perspective of the lady at the desk: offering a breakfast to go as a compensation would have been a nice gesture. Hospitality is so much more than collecting the room rate and saying ‘Bonjour’ with a smile. You still have my number mr/mrs manager, a call still would be nice….
