Le Manoir Au Lac Hotel

Stunning lake view hotel, only a short/steep walk down to the lake. Approximately 15 minute walk into town along the lake walkway. Ample parking with the option of garaging. Dinner on the terrace was lovely, food was very good and the view was breathtaking. Slept in so I didn't make breakfast however they kindly made me a coffee and brought out some pan au chocolate and croissants! Nothing was too much trouble and staff were so friendly and helpful. The view from our room was incredible, will revisit next year.

We spent a couple days and New Year's Eve dinner at the Manoir au Lac. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The restaurant, on New Year's Eve was amazing. Breakfast was also great, with an amazing view over the lake. It's all within 10 minutes walk from the center of town where shopping and restaurants all are. Last but not least, staff was amazing throughout our stay. A great address.

Great view of the lake. We were not in the main building and that was not clear when we booked it. Room was clean with nice bathroom and good beds. The breakfast service was a disaster. Coffee and tea came when we finished our breakfast after 45 minutes and had to ask for it 3 times Not one morning but two mornings. Boiled eggs did not go well also at the second time the eggs were like a liquid and came after we finished our breakfast.the Yoghurt was finished at 9.30 and no refill possible. For a 4 star and paying 335 euro a night this should be much better.

Stayed for a week in August. We booked a first floor balcony room in separate building to main hotel. The ground floor rooms would not have had a view. The room was really lovely, shower room too and we liked the mini kitchen. The room and hotel were very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. We were a bit unsure how breakfast ran. There was a buffet which was nice but a little repetitive. We enjoyed the swimming pool and often had it to ourselves. The hotel is easily walkable into Gerardmer and we did day trips to Colmar, Kayserberg and Eguisheim. Locally we walked around lake and up the Merelle tower which had fabulous views. We didn’t eat in the restaurant as it was expensive with limited choices but it did look good and others were eating in evenings. The only downsides were the road noise which was very busy and ran along the lake, also we saw people eating at lunch time but we weren’t aware this was an option and was not well advertised as a possibility. Maybe a more casual menu alongside the more expensive options would be nice? I would recommend staying here.

We found this hotel at the last minute, we hesitated at first because the last room available was under the roof but we liked it anyway. The hotel is well located and offers a beautiful view of the lake (we took the opportunity to see the fireworks), cozy decoration, very clean spa, refined dinner, we had a great stay here. Only one downside: our room was not made and we did not have enough toiletries on the last day. Otherwise the hotel deserves its stars and we would not hesitate to choose this hotel again.

This time we decided to spend a couple of nights away and just relax. Well we chose this place because it offered all we were looking for and in an area we had never been before.

The Hotel is nicely located and with a regular car can easily be accessed through different small streets. It has a small parking garage underneath where Bikes or Skies can also be parked during your stay.
The staff is very friendly and tries very hard to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Our room was very nice and all was in good working order (OK, there was a loose shower clamp, but this did not really matter much). We mostly enjoyed the great view from our balcony over the lake and hills.
There is also a Sauna and indoor swimming pool that guests can enjoy during the day.
Unfortunately the pool closes quite early. Returning back to the Hotel in the evening and still being able to go and enjoy a swim or the sauna (like other Hotels who offer this) would have been great.
Unfortunately cleanliness was not a top priority. Dust and cobwebs could be seen on various surfaces. All outdoor furnitures needed some cleaning before we were able to use them. This of course left me questioning the Hotel´s attention to detail.

All in all it is a very nice Hotel with a great view and a very nice park next to the Hotel where guests can walk or sit and enjoy the day. Breakfast was enjoyed every morning with a great view over the lake where the first small boats started their adventures.

I I sincerely hope that the management takes my concerns into account and makes improvements in the future. The disparity between the price and the overall condition, hindered somewhat the enjoyment of the stay and I am sure with a little effort this could undoubtedly be changed and guests will experience a even more satisfying experience.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my review. I appreciate your efforts to address the concerns I raised during my stay at your hotel. However, I would like to address a point you made regarding guests' responsibility in pointing out dust or faults.
While I understand the importance of guests communicating their concerns directly to the hotel staff, it is equally essential for the hotel management to proactively
ensure that the premises are well-maintained and up to the expected standards. It is not the sole responsibility of the guests to point out any shortcomings they encounter during their stay. As a guest, my primary expectation is to have a clean and comfortable
environment, and it is the hotel's responsibility to meet those expectations without me having to point out every flaw.
Blaming guests for not immediately reporting issues and suggesting that they should have done so instead of mentioning them in a review is not in line with the hospitality
industry's best practices. Constructive feedback through reviews allows potential guests to make informed decisions when choosing a hotel, and it provides an opportunity for the hotel to address concerns and make improvements. It is part of a healthy feedback
loop that benefits both parties.
I hope you understand that my intention in leaving a review was not to disparage your hotel but to provide honest feedback that could contribute to its improvement.
As a guest, I believe it is important to hold hotels accountable for maintaining their facilities and delivering a high-quality experience.

Perfect staff! Friendly, helpful and professional. Location, absolutely wonderful. The restaurrant was a delight and deserves at least one star, both for the food and for the service. Well worth the detour!

Best location next to lake with fantastic garden. Parking easy, breakfast room with top view over the lake. Suite large, newly built, clean and comfortable. WLAN a bit weak but ok. Dinner was ok but not exciting. Breakfast perfect with very polite service and wonderful french food. Overall we loved it.

Very nice place with great service. The hotel and rooms are beautiful. Breakfast is great. The service was fantastic, specially Matthieu. I would definitely come again. We came as a family of four with two very young children.
