SOWELL RÉSIDENCES Pierre Blanche in Les Menuires

Location is awesome. Les Menuires is one of the best places to ski in the world, and Sowell is very well placed, you can simply ski to the center of the village and take any cabin from there and buy your ski passes.
Regarding the apartments, you feel like being in the Soviet Union. No interest in making you feel like you are in holidays or in a charming place. It is simply horrible, no decoration at all, really looks like Soviet Union. It is shameful that no investments are made to hire a person with taste and make the apartments cozy.
You need to bring your sheets and towels to the reception yourself, and clean the bathroom and kitchen.
There is a nice swimming pool, great for kids.
We won't come back because we don't like the attitude of being offered a place where there is nothing made for you to like it.
Maybe fine for young people used to party and not caring about the place they sleep, but families and couples should find better. Not much is needed to have some taste, but willingness to do so is necessary.
Staff is very nice.

HORRIBLE!!
Spent hours waiting outside in the cold (together with numerous other guests) to be able to checkin due lack of staff.
Building is next to the piste but getting there takes quite a while.
Ski room can only host two people at the time but only one can sit down. So everybody takes their skis/boots into their room. Noise on the corridor in the morning......
Apartment itself is small (as expected) with a sleeping couch (NOT a real bed!) that is soooooo uncomfortable that we had to put the matrass on the floor.
However because of an airdraft through the leaking windows we had to make some modifications in the room layout. That helped.
Other users complained about cleanliness.. In our case it was somewhat acceptable. (not excellent..)
Anyway.. i won't go there again..
Parking lot seems big but is still too small for all cars. Result is a nice walk if you come too late to find a spot for your car. (Police removes non correct parked cars.)

Residence to flee!
Stay from 29/01 to 05/02.
On the day of arrival, a single hostess to manage all arrivals, more than a good hour of waiting. We had to deal with a hostess afterwards who fled and left when we asked her a question!!!
Arrivals in the apartment, SURPRISE! Apartment really very very dirty, dust, stained floor, towels and sheets also stained, dirty cutlery from drying food, stove unusable it was so dirty, bay windows that do not close, apartment for 6 people but only two small saucepans and a frying pan (unusable).
The swimming pool? Cold! Impossible to swim in it.
Ski room? A room accessible to all...

Only positive point: access to the slopes and the village.

Working in tourism, I was very unpleasantly surprised by a "4*" residence. I made a reservation on the internet having carefully looked at the details and photos of the accommodation. I booked this one to have a balcony, since my grandmother doesn't ski, so she could at least enjoy the scenery. A lady on the phone had told me a few days earlier that we were "upgraded".. for us, we were downgraded, no balcony, very small apartment (note the cleanliness to be reviewed as well). I allowed myself to return to the reception to point out that it was not what I had reserved and that it was not an upgrade either. The unfriendly "manager" maintained that this was not what I had booked telling me "the photos are not contractual to the accommodation you understand we have 74 apartments" I took the liberty of telling her that I work in tourism (camping) and each class of accommodation that we rent has its photos, which is normal for the potential customer who will rent to us. Surely that's what "saved" us. She therefore found us a room with a balcony as on my reservation the only problem the cleaning was not done = accommodation not ready to be re-rented (it could have been a last minute reservation or problem in one of the apartments already rented….) worthy of a 4* residence? No.
So we waited 1 hour more in the reception in order to have the accommodation. Rental with balcony not cleared of snow (and not cleaned of. Cigarette butts everywhere)… so gentlemen, ladies you will not be able to enjoy your terrace which is, ideally in full sun all day… too bad. The cleanliness leaves something to be desired, the window rails not cleaned, the blankets provided with stains… Also the doors of the wobbly kitchen units. Air passes between the joints of the French window, the mattresses are hard and so on.
Be careful all the same for the sofa bed, which when unfolded folds when you lay on it and what is more lacks stability... We did not dare to go to the swimming pool given the general maintenance of the building. In short, a shame for a residence that has enormous potential, in a magnificent resort, at the foot of the slopes (only advantage). A trainee in reception, poor thing, it must not be easy to work when the conditions are so bad, and in addition IN INTERNSHIP, what an apprenticeship...

What a disappointment this apartment has been for us.

We had booked a 4 person apartment (two bedrooms) and are currently spending our last night here.

We are only waiting for one thing: "to come home".

When we arrived, what was our surprise to see how dirty the apartment was, the windows did not close, half of the dishes were missing, the bed sheets are dirty and stained in addition to the hardness of the beds.
The kitchen is not equipped and on top of that, the little equipment present does not work.

The ski locker room is just a simple room with a fake surveillance camera in which you have to put your skis for the night for all to see.

What more can be said? The front desk manager is unfriendly and rude.

The only good thing about this apartment is that the building is close to the slopes.

In summary, this is a misleading advertisement. It's a scam!

We regret this stay for 2 adults and 4 children in this supposedly 4 star residence
The apartments are dirty with unsuitable devices
A mini dishwasher, no coffee machine, dirty and damaged dishes
Uncomfortable beds
Tiny and not at all cozy apartment
The week costs 3000 euros but I strongly advise against ...
