Hotel Marielle in Val Thorens

Good location, very polite employees, beautiful view from the window, Close location to the lifts, very tasty food.

We had a fantastic ski week of 8 days stay. The hotel was very cosy and comfortable. Our 2 kids found the game room very entertaining with a pingpong and a biljard table. Just outside is a cosy lounge social area to order drinks. For skiing it's ideal to just step outside on the slopes. We could easily leave and forget about the car the whole week. The room and beds were very comfortable. The staff was super friendly. A warm recommendation for this hotel.

Great Hotel. Fabulous location. Excellent staff and food. The staff are friendly and attentive. We had a couple of minor issues but the staff quickly attended to these and so almost not worth mentioning. Food was very good. Bar is good with DJ chillout tunes. Quite a busy bar over Christmas but still very good. We had two good sized rooms with a shared entrance lobby which was nice and overlooking the main slopes which were super. Ski hire shop right next door and large boot room. Ski in and out was perfect. Location to lifts and bars spot on. Not the cheapest hotel as you might expect but the experience was excellent overall.

A wonderful stay over Christmas, great food, location and staff. Rooms are compact but impeccably clean and stylish. Hotel is excellently run in every department and the added advantage of having a ski rental shop next door which made life extremely easy.

First time at Val Thorens and decided to book this resort for 6 nights. This is a very convenient ski in/ski out establishment with in house ski rental located next to the entrance. First off : the ski rental staff were first rate. Extremely helpful and attentive in spite of a large weekend crowd. All our gear fit perfectly and we had no issues over 4 ski days. Gear storage is located at the basement with exit to the lifts. Room : our room was really really small. One queen bed with 2 bunk beds for our teenage kids . There is precious little space for our luggage. Almost as small as Tokyo hotel rooms. However, the design and layout were very clever and ergonomic with lots of hidden storage space and places to hang stuff. Toilet was equally small. After 2-3 days we sort of got used to it. There is no laundromat and the laundry service was pretty pricey. There is fortunately a coin operated laundromat about 10 min walk uphill at the public square area where all the expensive restaurants are. We opted for 1/2 board. Food was buffer style with huge selection of French and Italian food . Quality and taste were good enough and worth the money. We didn’t have had to go out and look for better food. Lastly the hotel staff : service attitudes and standards worthy of far higher quality hotels. Friendly and helpful to a fault. We had a wonderful and glorious 6 nights including a delightful special Christmas Eve dinner. Staff went out of their way to help us celebrate the special evening. Tinge of sadness to leave . Will definitely plan a next visit soon. Strongly recommend.

The concierge is very helpful, location is good. 
The sauna closes at 8pm which is bit early, the locker room smells really bad, and two nights out of three we stayed here our room wasn’t cleaned till 4pm!!

First - the location is brilliant. Ski in and ski out is fantastic.
But as good as the location, the service team is way better.

Anna and Ori on the day shift are simply sublime and are very friendly and supporting. And Isabelle on the night shift is fantastic for helping out when everyone is asleep and you’d think there’d be nobody to help you.

Just spent 2 weeks in this little gem. The hotel is ideally located right on the ski slopes, with super clean and comfortable "Superior" rooms, "average +" Food & Beverage and SUPER KIND staff from management, reception, cleaning staff to restaurant staff. We felt at home and look forward to coming back next year.

We visited 8th to 15th March, half board.

Positives: The location really is amazing, right on the slopes with easy ski in/ski out. The rooms are fine, and the sauna/steam room are a good size and clean. The reception staff were very friendly, and super helpful when our friend had an accident.

However, the food and service were disappointing, given the premium the hotel had.

1. The evening buffet had very odd "main" dishes (liver, beef hearts etc), and frequently dishes would run out and not be replaced (good luck to those eating at the later 8:30 sitting). Compared to restaurants in the village the food was just not very enticing. The desserts however were always great. Hat tip to the pastry chef.

2, Breakfast service was inconsistent. Multiple times at breakfast dishes would run out and not be replaced, or no plates would be available. It felt like this was just understaffed.

3, Lunch is "a la carte", and quality of the food was better.

4, Service on the terrace was very slow. We waited 30 minutes on the terrace for a round of drinks.

I would come back as the location is great, but I would not pay for the half-board option.
