Maison Albar Hotels L'Imperator, Nimes1 / 50

Nimes, 15 Rue Gaston Boissier 🧭 Map
Beautiful and well renewed hotel. Good location. Clean and modern room. However the service does not seem to be at the level of a 5 star hotel and we found the bar / breakfast overpriced for the quality, offer and service. At dinner one portion of fries was invoiced for 14 euros and 36 euros / person for breakfast is really too much when it is buffet and the service is very slow with personnel not...
Excellent in every aspect. Staff is exceptional from reception to cleaning to bar to checkout and at all other times. Room was very well laid out and comfortable. Robes and slippers provided which is always nice. The bath is lovely and spacious with plenty of closet space. The location is perfect and parking is very close by. We come to Nimes often as we live not far and will absolutely stay...
The L'Imperator is centrally located in a nice neighborhood. Its facilities are magnificent and clean. Our room was made spotless each day for 6 days. The food at both restaurants are simply the best. The concierges were wonderful and the front door men were great. It was so easy to drive in and out and have them park and retrieve it for us.
We have completed a three nights stay in this LHW hotel in our first visit to Nimes as tourists in end August 2025. We were warmly welcomed by Emma, who has been corresponding with us on pre-arrival arrangements and was very lovely to show us around this very nice property, which reminded me of a combination of Art Nouveau and Mediterranean design elements. The location is excellent; the famous Maison...
The most chic and wonderful hotel!! We loved every minute of our stay there. The only criticism I can think of is that the rooms are small, but that’s to be expected in a hotel in the middle of a European city. That said - the rooms were PRISTINE (as is the entire hotel) which makes up for the lack extra space! The pools are a dream as are all the common areas. We had the loveliest time there. And...

Amazing hotel with excellent service! Perfect location, everything is truly top-notch. The restaurant and bar are outstanding, and the rooms are brand new. I highly recommend this place!
Speak other languages like Spanish would be amazing.
Perfect location, excellent garage, pleasant staff. Decent value, recent upgrades. Not quite lucury, but an ideal location to enjoy the city.
Busy pub. Nice drive up to get there. The pies are excellent with thin crust and plenty of filling. The giant Yorkshire puds looked amazing also.
Excellent location. Recently renewed, the rooms are so comfortable for a good night after a tourist day.
The location is good, the room is big and the environment is quiet. The price is reasonable

Spacious room with the biggest bed I have ever seen (Super Kingsize?). The room was spotless with a good walk in shower and the onsite restaurant is excellent but very popular so booking a table at check in time is recommended. If you don't fancy the restaurant or it is fully booked, at least there is McDonalds just around the corner. For the price this is by far the best hotel we have found while...
The staff were very friendly and the restaurant was very good.
Good quality price Good service, well located, clean and sweet staff
A decent place to stay at a reasonable price. Overall, a little dated but quite an OK place to stay. Walking distance to McDonalds, Lidl, Ange Boulangerie and several other eating places. The room was quiet. The restaurant/bar onsite, Partage, looked inviting although we didn't eat there. Parking was good. The main issue was the smell of the drains in the bathroom, which seems pretty common in...
Convenient to drive-in-out. Plenty of parking space. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Swimming pool is of decent size, well maintained. 10 min drive to city center. Rooms are a bit dated, good otherwise.
Hotel Nimotel experience This was our forth time that we have stayed here, but it's the first time we experienced unpleasant smells. Initially we were allocated a room adjacent to the laundry room which was noisy and smelly, the room itself was dated except for the shower which was new, but doors paintwork and floor tiles need renovating. However we were allocated another room on the first floor once...

Shabby, expensive, simple breakfast
Environment: The environment is quiet and the location is good. It takes only ten minutes to get there after getting off the highway. The yard is quite large, there are many parking spaces and free parking. It is convenient to eat, there is a restaurant next to the hotel
The room is clean and staffs are polite and helpful. Free parking. However, the breakfast is quite basic and the room is quite small. The pool is smaller than expected.
A classic Ibis. Good and pro staff. Good location
Typical ibis. Good easy location for travelers. They are downgrading their restaurants so food very, very, average. Wine list (for France) a shocker.
Hotel is easy to get to when traveling by. The rooms are quite small but sufficient. The bathroom had a smell that suggests that it has a small sewage problem. I wonder what the people at the reception will say when I report this.

The hotel needs to be updated. The bed was small and the bathroom outdated.
Great stay. Multilingual staff. Great sleep, really comfy beds and very quiet. Great breakfast, excellent value.
We stopped off for two nights on the way home from holidays in the south. The location of the hotel is excellent and close to the highway, although it is located in a kind of industrial estate you can easily forget this once inside the lovely hotel ....lovely pool and garden sitting area. Very relaxing hotel, good size with kids as it's small and friendly and they can go back and forth to the room...
The hotel is accessed from a small road off the highway. The gardens and pool are beautiful. There's no elevator, so carrying luggage upstairs was a bit of a hassle. The room was small but comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. There's no refrigerator, but you can get ice and water in the restaurant. The breakfast was quite generous, and the staff were very friendly.
There is no elevator, so it is troublesome to carry luggage. The room is big enough.
I was desperately ill while staying at L’Orangerie, but the staff and hotel were perfect. Staff were always helpful and kind, and L’Orangerie is a comfortable and very pleasant place to stay!

Room was great. Outside it was 40degrees but when I entered the room, thanks to the airco it was 20. Staff was very nice ! Ideal hotel for a stay as I was driving from Belgium to Spain. 5 min from the highway. Only slight minus… wifi was not that great.
Very quiet and cosy hotel. We slept one night on the way from Italy. Highly recommended, excellent breakfast. Very friendly staff.
We had a blast. The food, at diner, was outstanding. Although we don't speak the language very well, the staff was very friendly.
Lovely stay and remarkable quality breakfast with local products. Highly recommended place in Nimes.
Rooms are ratjes small but ok, solid and soft bed, bathroom may need to be upgraded. We were also offered diner outside but were surprised about the bad price quality: price was 35€ pp for a menu with primary course rice with a small piece of duck meat and no vegetables, value not even 18€. Service was done by students without due instruction, so mediocre at best. Unfortunate for this type of hotel...

I’m absolutely in love with this place. This hotel has a soul — full of charm, elegance, and character. Every corner tells a story, with thoughtfully curated antiques and refined taste. I must have taken hundreds of photos — the details are simply mesmerizing. It’s a true embodiment of the French spirit, authentic and full of atmosphere. A magical experience. Highly, highly recommend.
A spectacularly beautiful establishment full of charm and curated antiques. We loved our stay at Jardins Secrets, it is indeed a unique and special place for pure relaxation at the heart of Nîmes. We are a family of four with a little doggie and initially booked the family room but the charming Victoria who greeted us at reception advised that since we had 2 adult daughters it would be more comfortable...
Absolutely deserves the 5 stars. Unique boutique hotel with a personal approach and massive attention to detail. It is history made modern and comfortable. The rooms are large and spacious, and every common area is an art. Yes, many items are everywhere so that it can be challenging with kids. The staff is accommodating and polite, and at the same time, they are natural and casual. Victoria is the...
If Madame Pompadour ran a hotel this would be it. Red velvet curtains, candles, chandeliers and charming hosts.
This is a place to visit and stay in the warmer months, or when there is much more sun. The indoor lighting is bare so colder months can be difficult to see. Service is with a smile and friendly. The stay here is about being around and in French vintage rather than the amenities. Location is decent to main area and other tourist areas of Nimes
Just whimsical ✨ The place is like a fairy tale. Each room, a colorful chapter of a magical story. The garden, a lush frame surrounding the sky, and every corridor, a pathway to different worlds. The incredible staff brought it all together exquisitely, crafting an unforgettable stay. Thank you! 😊

My husband and I stayed here in July. We had a wonderful time. We love the spa facilities. The food was very good in the hotel restaurant. All the staff were very kind and helpful. We would like to mention the lovely receptionist Jenna who was very welcoming and helpful. Thank you, from the irish couple.
Modern and value We booked a suite which was very modern and large with an extra room. Good value
The service in this hotel is a bit peculiar because it is almost exclusively taken care of by students of the local hotel school. While everybody has to learn and I fully understand it, the client is nevertheless supposed not to be too much aware of it. The young lady in the reception was all alone in the evening and had to deal with a sizeable waiting line, the phone, the garage barrier and unfit...
I recently stayed at Hotel Vatel in Nîmes, and it was a delightful experience. Whether you're traveling for pleasure or business, this hotel is an excellent choice. Agreeable staff ,many spoke English. Very relaxing stay before my hospital stay. Good location for hospital visits or a quiet place to stay when visiting Nîmes. The only negative was our shower grout was dirty. We also ate there and the food was very good.
With breakfast, there was nobody to bake the eggs. In the toilet the cover from the air extraction on the ceiling was very dusty (not clean), also a lot of stains present on the carpet and seat against the bed. (suite Diana)

Very stylish (hence the name). The staff are friendly and experienced, Roman styled hotel and rooms Pros: Great location, and tasty food beds and sofa bed very comfy Cons: Room has patterns on the ceiling that make you dizzy and/or give you migraines.
Very well located city centre hotel. 2 minutes walk to the SNCF railway station. Trains to numerous destinations including Belgium, and Spain, and of course all over France. Pleasant staff and great breakfast buffet. Rooms in the "Budget" side are basic but then that's what you pay for. Our room was on the top floor, had a great view and was quiet.
Very friendly receptionists. Delicious varied breakfast and helpful staff. Clean practical rooms. Good bed, good shower. Still and sparkling water dispenser at reception. Excellent location infront of train station, next to rent a car, supermarket and restaurants. Safe area.
Great location next to train station. Safe area. Can get food easily. No safe box in the room. Small toilets and small shower cubicle. Overall very clean. I recommend a nearby restaurant to this hotel. As shown in the pictures
In a great spot for train links, and the centre of town was a short walk away.

I have been using this hotel for years - always excellent!
The staff are overly familiar. One of the lift-boys addressed me as "George Foreman ",which is not my name and, even had it been, surely " Mr Foreman "would have been more appropriate ?
Not a "Grand" Hotel at all. Service was ok. General decor weird and tired. Restaurant below average for France. The kitchen was leaking smoke smelling of burnt fat into the restaurant area and also the front entrance. Good enough for a stopover if there are no other choices. It's in a mall area that was desolate at night, but also convenient to highway.
Excellent property. Staff was very friendly, the room was spacious and sparkling clean, comfortable bed. Also the food was just wow. A great choice for a three day stay. Highly recomand❤

The staff were wonderful and the property is a lovely blend of 16-17th century architecture with the modern amenities that one enjoys and needs today.
Beautiful historical common areas and large comfortable room. Bathroom is stylishly renovated but could be more practical - basin spout is too short for the stylish basin, and only having an option of a hand held shower nozzle was disappointing. Nevertheless it was a lovely place to stay.
From my arrival, throughout my stay, and sad departure, everything at the hotel surpassed my expectations.
Hardly a 4 star hotel A well situated hotel without parking or indeed a drop off zone. Very nice and charming building, but cheap decor and cheap furniture offsets the charm. Asked for towels, received non. The bar serves beer or vine by the bottle only. Poor breakfast. Would not go back.
Cosy room, lovely hotel, polite staff didn’t have the breakfast as i’m vegan but otherwise 10/10 would stay here again !

The only true positive...it is very well located in the city center. That being said, the city is not large so everything is walkable. The rest was not great. We stayed for 2 nights and booked the suite. It was large with high ceilings but that made it very hot in the room. We asked for fans twice but never got them. The blackout curtains didn't blackout anything so the heat streamed in all day...
Lovely hotel, right in the heart of beautiful nimes. Food, wine and accommodation hard to beat. Thank you.
A beautifully peaceful oasis in a great central location. We had a lovely stay at Margaret Chouleur and the front of house staff who we met were very helpful and friendly. We had been upgraded to stay in the duplex apartment which was a nice touch, but we found it to have a few things wrong which were a shame, but didn't ruin our experience. For example the air con units were broken in the lounge,...
I’m so pleased I decided to have a 3 night stop here. The hotel is wonderful and the staff even better. All of the ladies just seemed to appear when I was wondering about something. The staff was amazingly attentive. You’d be hard pressed to experience better service and pre-arrival communication anywhere.
We loved our huge room (and bathroom!) and the location was convenient to everything. The breakfast was top notch! We didn’t eat dinner at either restaurant but they both looked amazing. A couple of notes that kept it from being perfect: 1) 66 stairs to the third floor. Very friendly hotel, welcoming staff, small downside soundproofing. But overall very pleasant for a short stay
When we arrived the room consisted of a double bed and a single bed with a pull out bed under the single bed. The room is a little small for 4 and the bed for the 4th person was not installed (it's a shame since it was planned when booking and I was sent an email to which I responded in asking how to prepare for our stay). There were also no 4 towels. These are small things that show that the room...
Very warm welcome, the staff is professional and very attentive. The receptionist is attentive, available and pleasant. The bathroom is extremely small. The extra price of 6 or 7 euro for the swimming pool is too expensive for what it is.
The hotel is very well located for those wishing to stop off in Nîmes. Both close to the motorway exit and close to the city center (the Musée de la Romanitude is 10 minutes by car) it offers sufficient comfort for a night's stopover. Too bad there is no kettle to make a hot drink. Be careful, the hotel parking lot fills up quickly.
We booked this hotel late in the evening, because we had to leave the hotel F1 in Avignon due to the circumstances. The hotel parking lot is free. There are commercial centers, McDonald's restaurants, etc. nearby. The room is slightly small and the sound insulation is a bit poor. Everything else is good. The breakfast is acceptable.
Totally satisfied and perfect for our purpose. Very friendly receptionists. Nice details, kettle for instant coffee or tea. Big and comfortable double bed.
Let's face it, it's not a hotel to spend your vacation. But it's perfect for a one night stop when traveling a few days. The rooms are really small but the friendliness of the staff and even a special gluten free breakfast make up the tiny room.
We crashed there late at night after a show in Les Arènes and they were quite helpful as they had a room for us. We didn't stay long and didn't try the breakfast. Kind of tricky if you don't have a car. Ring road hotel so you'll find ring road supermarkets around. Calm nights and comfortable bedding

An exceptional auberge. A short drive from the Nimes town center, Mas de Bourdan is a small, beautifully-appointed garden hotel, coupled with a bistro and a fine dining restaurant, both offering outstanding French cuisine (not listing vegetarian dishes, but the chef produced excellent options). The facility, in a 17th-Century structure, is outstanding; staff truly aim to please.
It‘s a beautiful little hotel with comfort and Charme. The rooms are very nice, well equipped and modern. The staff is just extraordinary. The hotel has a paradise like garden where we had our breakfast. The restaurant is a real Gourmet Restaurant that is just amazing. The best food we had since a long time. All in all this hotel is a little jewel!
This place is a gem; after a day of touring Nimes, we spent a very quiet night there, had an excellent dinner, and an amazing breakfast. The staff is very friendly and professional; I have some mobility issues, and received help way beyond my expectations. The hotel is very comfortable and quiet.
The hotel was difficult to find in Nimes' one way system and lies in a maze of lanes in the suburbs. The layout is bizarre with conflicting signage. Friendly staff, relaxing. Bathroom small and compact room. Room hot.
A comfortable room close to train station. The staff was exceptional, especially Miriam. A quick check-in at the reception and nice orientation for our stay. There was no hairdryer in the hotel room. I found out when I returned to the hotel in the evening. The front desk staff said that a tenant had borrowed the hairdryer and had not returned it. Since it was past 11 o'clock, they could not call to find the hairdryer. I went to the front desk at 10 a.m. the next day to borrow a hairdryer, but there was still no hair dryer.
You now what you get when booking an Ibis: minimum standard in everything! Only exception: the very friendly and helpful receptionist. She recommended us restaurant and sights! Parking is 10 Euro per day and close by.

Characterful small central hotel We enjoyed our stay in this old but sympathetcally modernised building. It's very central, as the name suggests, and only a short, pleasant, walk from the station. Friendly and helpful people, not a bad breakfast. Spotlessly clean, if slightly faded and no lift but that goes with the building. Good value for what and where it is, we will probably stay again.
Great location. Nice hotel, though we only used it for sleeping. Didnt have breakfast as there were plenty of places for petit dejeuner close by. Could have done with better lighting on second staircase, quite dark in places. Good location, though noisey at night if you have windows open.
Convenient location. Able to leave luggage both coming and going, and sat in lounge area waiting for rain to stop. Friendly staff. Beautiful bathtub but only a handheld shower head.
We enjoyed our stay here other than being on the top floor with no lift. Also we were persuaded to have breakfast and that there was gluten free corn bread, this was a lie, so i was very overcharged for my breakfast and annoying given that there was a gluten free cafe in the area.
