The Grand Hotel de lOpera, symbol of art de vivre is nowadays one of the most famous hotels in Toulouse. Located on the Capitole square, in the heart of the pink city, the history of the hotel stands among the oldest of Toulouse.
In the 17th century, in the midst of the Renaissance period, this nice monument sheltered a monastery. The 1789s events disturbed its quietness. The building was change into the Lycee de la Revolution, the school of revolution.
New metamorphosis a few years later when the Opera Dance School of Toulouse makes it its own.
In this new designation, the Grand Hotel de lOpera tribute to its talented tenants who only had to cross the street to perform on stage at the Theatre du Capitole.
In 1980, the amazing building is refurbished as a sumptuous 4 Star boutique hotel combining the mobility and the charm of Toulouse mansions.
Ever since, the reputation of the Grand Hotel de lOpera is established. Our hotel continues to warmly welcome guests from all over the world.
In 1996, a fire destroyed no less than 36 rooms. Two years later, Rouleau Hotellerie acquires the Grand Hotel de lOpera, gives it a fully new direction and restores the hotel to its full splendor.
The interior design was magnified by Elisabeth Drapeau.

Hotel opened in 1680, renovated in 1998.

Reviews
This hotel's location aided our ability to travel by walking this historic section of the city. We stay before and after our other trips away from the city and on flight arrival and departure dates. All good in a classic hotel.
Highly recommend staying in a Jr Suite with a direct view of the Capitole. The rooms are spacious and nicely appointed. We were here during the Christmas Marche and the dual pane windows blocked out all the sounds.
The staff is fantastic and a special shoutout to Jillian for being so welcoming and she took care of our every need including, making dinner reservations. An additional shoutout to Clara, with whom i corresponded with before our stay, who also made sure everything we needed was seen to.
We have found our hotel in this magical city and we will be back soon!!!
Great location, great staff, and great hotel rooms.
We had an heating issue with our room, the staff was very comprehensive and offered us to change for a new one.
The overall design of the hotel is maybe a bit old but it ads to the charm, and the rooms are great, specially the bathroom.
Breakfast was good and what you would expect.
If you have issues climbing stairs, I would precise it when booking. Our room was on the 3rd floor and there was no lift, it wasn’t a problem for us, but it could be for some people.
Overall good experience, would book again.
