Mama Shelter Hotel

The hotel is really cute with a lot of whimsical decor. The hotel staff went out of their way to help us. We were in a wheelchair accessible room. And to this I would say, Mama! What were you THINKING putting that handicap room the absolute furthest room away from the elevator?!?! And then paving the hallway with cobblestones??! (See attached photo). Seriously, thank heavens my husband had his former marathon running/sherpa wife to push him down that long hallway (several times a day). There was a perk associated with the wheelchair however and that was that we were allotted one of the highly coveted handicap parking spaces directly in front of the hotel. There are two bars, one right near the lobby that also serves as the hotel restaurant. The other is on the rooftop and is very popular with locals and guests. It is not a rooftop with a view, but a charming outside space. Beds were comfortable, but a little too close to the wall on one side for a wheelchair to fit. Bathroom had challenges for us, but with my husband’s particular disability, that is not uncommon. If you have a disability but can still stand and pivot to sit on the toilet, then it will be a breeze. If you cannot stand at all, then be prepared to bring some assistive devices to help out.

All-in-all, it’s a delightful hotel and if we ever make it back to Toulouse, I know we would enjoy staying at this hotel again.

Hotel was in a great location, room was comfy, hotel had some fun unique features and great overall vibe. Breakfast was excellent and rooftop bar was a vibe. Would definitely recommend.

My experience at The Mama Shelter was phenomenal. The cozy, rustic decor made me feel right at home. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, helping me with everything I need. I truly enjoyed a staying there. Beds were comfortable. The live band on Sundays is amazing and adds a wonderful touch to the dining experience. It was a perfect evening, and I can't wait to come back! I highly recommend!!!!!

I checked in and Mya at the front desk enthusiastically showed us her favorite spots in Toulouse. She wasn't wrong about any of the ones I got around to visiting; clearly she has exquisite taste. In the restaurant, Natacha was so friendly, the kind of person you just want to high-five all the time. There was a guy on the rooftop bar whose name I don't remember, so obviously I don't deserve a positive review, but he does. And that's just the staff! The room was very comfortable and clean, the dessert at the restaurant was delicious. I peeked my head into the movie theater and it was really cool! Unfortunately I didn't travel 4283 miles to watch an animated film about training dragons. But I would definitely come back to Mama Shelter Toulouse for my next trip!

Nice stay at Mama Shelter, but I think this is more in the 3 star vs. 4 star category. My highlight was enjoying sunset at the rooftop bar. I stayed in a classic double room, which was a little small, although the bed was very comfortable. AC wasn't working but to be fair, I didn't raise with the front desk. The rooms are a little cramped and lacking some basic amenities. E.g. no toothbrush / toothpaste in the bathroom. In the shower, just a "2-in-1" soap bar is provided for shampoo and bodywash (no liquid shampoo, bodywash or hair conditioner). This felt a bit cheap... Also no drinking water in the rooms. Mini bar is empty and no glasses/dishes/cutlery provided if you want to order takeout. Breakfast was good with a large variety of options.

Stayed for two nights on business with a colleague, very friendly and helpful staff and comfortable room with amazing pillows! Breakfast is fantastic with a good choice of hot and cold selections.
We eat in the restaurant one night which was also excellent with a good choice of wines.
I won't hesitate to come back.
