Mama Shelter Toulouse in Toulouse

I stayed here 10 days over two trips in Dec 2025. I had not previously stayed in a Mama Shelter. Essentially it is like any other hotel, but brighter and a bit more fun. My room was fairly standard but the bed was a proper double bed (not too single beds shoved together) and the mattress, duvet and pillows super comfy! Good sized bathroom and everything clean and worked.
The breakfast was plentiful, good quality and enough variation to suit most tastes. I ate once in the restaurant (reviewed separately) and that was also a pleasant surprise. What sets this hotel apart for me though, is the staff. Without exception they were all approachable, friendly, helpful and always smiling. They are a credit to the hotel and I hope the management appreciate them!

Clearly a different experience from usual hotels.

The place is ideally located and has a lot of nice amenities within walking distance. The staff was kind enough during the day and morning, maybe not as so at night.

The rooms are very creatively decorated and different. The ventilation should be improved in them though because the air really gets heavy quite quickly.

Now one thing to know is that you shouldn’t sleep there if noise bothers you. There are dancing parties there quite often and the noise will be slipping through to your room.

Breakfast was quite good for a French hotel.

I was worried before I came because I saw some bad reviews but our experience was really positive.

Reception staff were friendly and helpful, the door staff were the highlight - super chatty, friendly and helpful. Room was nice, comfy bed and super central location.

Rooms lack some amenities like hair conditioner and tissues but not really an issue. Walls and tiles could do with refreshing - grout and painting over scratches but overall really positive stay.

Party hotel
A chain hotel with a theme and decor geared for younger guests. Rooftop bar, DJ music, and loud and party-like ambiance and music all the time. Great, if that’s your sensibility.

Nice hotel in the heart of Toulouse, near the train station, walkable to city centre. Decorations inside the suite were quite fun. Staff were very helpfully able to keep my bag before and after I had checked out.

Everything about this hotel is great.
The staff super helpful and accommodating. Always ready to help. I was sick and they had suggestions for pharmacies nearby and helped us navigate the city.

Restaurant meals were great. As part of disloyalty membership, one gets a a small discount.

The rooms are fun and the design really interesting and the free movies were perfect to stay in during sick days.

Rooftop also nice and activities organized looked like a lot of fun.

The hotel is really cute with a lot of whimsical decor. The hotel staff went out of their way to help us. We were in a wheelchair accessible room. And to this I would say, Mama! What were you THINKING putting that handicap room the absolute furthest room away from the elevator?!?! And then paving the hallway with cobblestones??! (See attached photo). Seriously, thank heavens my husband had his former marathon running/sherpa wife to push him down that long hallway (several times a day). There was a perk associated with the wheelchair however and that was that we were allotted one of the highly coveted handicap parking spaces directly in front of the hotel. There are two bars, one right near the lobby that also serves as the hotel restaurant. The other is on the rooftop and is very popular with locals and guests. It is not a rooftop with a view, but a charming outside space. Beds were comfortable, but a little too close to the wall on one side for a wheelchair to fit. Bathroom had challenges for us, but with my husband’s particular disability, that is not uncommon. If you have a disability but can still stand and pivot to sit on the toilet, then it will be a breeze. If you cannot stand at all, then be prepared to bring some assistive devices to help out.

All-in-all, it’s a delightful hotel and if we ever make it back to Toulouse, I know we would enjoy staying at this hotel again.
