Proteas Hotel & Suites

We absolutely over our time at Proteas and wholly recommend it to anyone coming to Naxos.

The room was a very good size with a large bed, decorated very nicely. There was a radio by the bed which played a Greek radio station which was a nice touch. The shower had good temperature controls and had good variable pressure. The room was spotlessly clean. All of the rooms here have amazing views. We were on the ground floor and had a table and chairs outside, as well as a personal line for drying clothes.

There is a small pool open nearly all day, until 9:30pm. It was warm and clean. The hotel is a medium size, so the pool was never very busy even though the hotel was fully booked.

The staff could not be more helpful. Our check in had lots of useful information and we felt welcomed very warmly by the staff. They were very relaxed and helped with any questions we had, and were most helpful when booking a taxi when we departed.

We had breakfast here one morning and it was of very good restaurant quality. There are a lot of choices. I enjoyed the Naxian scrambled eggs and my partner had a great omelette.

The location is excellent. The bus from the port costs 2€ and comes to Lagos Mare hotel which is a 4 minute walk from the hotel. Make sure you tell the bus driver where you are getting off. Agios Prokopios beach is a 7 minute walk away and is considered the best beach on Naxos. The strip of shops and restaurants is about a 10 minute walk away.

Our top tip is to book with the hotel directly, we were given a bottle of wine as a perk for doing this.

We loved our stay here and would have loved to stay longer. If we come back to Naxos we will almost certainly book to come here again.

Overall, amazing value hotel in a great location that serves good food in a relaxed environment.

My stay at Hotel Proteas was outstanding! The hotel is immaculate and every detail is well looked after by the family that owns and runs the hotel. They were so kind and accommodating but non-intrusive. The hotel is a short walk to the beaches and restaurants. The hotel also serves delicious local fare! The view from the balconies is lovely complete with direct sunset views. The area is quiet and as a solo female traveler, I felt very safe here. It was one of my overall favorite hotel experiences in Europe! Enjoy!

This was our favourite place we stayed at during our tour of the Cyclades. It’s located between Naxos Old Town (Chora) and the main beaches including Plaka. Both can be reached by bus or should I say comfortable coaches. The bus stop is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. You can buy the 2 euro tickets from reception. Chora is about a 15-20 minute journey and the beaches 10-15 mins by bus. The nearest beach is a 10-15 minute walk. During the time of our stay the buses were running every half hour. We also used the bus to go to the port for our ferry. Taxi from outside the port to the hotel was 25 euros. The hotel is very attractive and feels like a very little village and had beautiful colourful planting. We were staying in a suite with a hot tub which afforded views of the sea and sunset. Our room (#5) was very roomy and comfortable. There is a kitchenette with a fridge, coffee machine, kettle and sink. We ordered breakfast most days and had it brought to our room and one evening we stayed in and had a light dinner brought up- fab. There is also an extensive second hand book library in reception - thank you to previous guests! The family and staff running the hotel are very friendly and welcoming. The overall vibe from fellow guests was also friendly.

Lovely hotel more 4 star than 3 star. We had a junior suite with sea view. Big bright modern room with little kitchenette where we made our own breakfasts and a couple of suppers. Balcony with sea views and overlooking the pool. Family run, Mary is friendly and helpful. 10 minute walk to town and restaurants same to get to the beach. Peaceful hotel and comfortable bed. Very clean all towels replaced daily and room cleaned . Bar in reception and food and drink available to order.

We love the Proteas Hotel. Beautiful. Quaint. Awesome service. We felt well taken care of. Food is out of this world! The flowers, the rooms. All beautiful. White glove clean. Beautiful Accommodations. But the owners who run hotel.. made us feel like family! 20 STARS!

Even though close to beach and restaurants, hotel was nice and quiet. We had a room with sea views. Lovely, helpful staff from a family run hotel. Nice pool if you don’t want to do the beaches. Parking for vehicles. Highly recommend the Proteas Hotel

the suite that we booked was amazing ,and everything was so clean ,the accomodation is so beautifull,nothing was to much ,ask anything,the breakfast was super ,nothing to complain ,the pool was beautifull and a pleasure to be on the sunbeds

This is a really lovely hotel. Very comfortable spotlessly clean. All you need to make your own breakfast to enjoy watching the sea as you eat. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Food if you eat here is tasty also great coffee. Would have no hesitation in recommending as a relaxing place to holiday at

We had a 7-days stay at the Proteas Hotel & Suites on Naxos. After a exhausting journey we arrived at the premises and we were welcomed most friendly by Mary and Mr. George. We were accompanied to our room (no 17.) on the top floor of the building. The suitcase was already in the room. It appeared to be a beautiful spacious and very quiet room with two terraces with plenty of shadow. Each morning we sat down at the reception to have coffee which was prepared by Irine, one of the friendly staff members. We enjoyed our stay to the fullest. It is just a very, very clean and peaceful place. A real gem.

The hospitality and ambiance at this amazing hotel is at a level of its own! We have stayed at many premium hotels around the world, but this perl of a family boutique hotel is one of the best we have stayed with. The hotel itself is beautiful, well-kept and very clean, the pool area small, but nice and again top clean. Our room, a juniorsuite, was neatly designed with all amenities, very worked perfectly and daily top-notch cleaning. And the staff/family; amazing hospitality, kindness and attentiveness…every day! Always available with a smile - from all. If you`re going to Naxos…treat yourself a book this hotel…you will love it!
