Travelling from Australia we stayed 3 nights at the Galaxy Hotel. Very nice hotel adjoining the Galaxy resort. A short walk to restaurants, bars, shopping ect. Highly recommend walking down to the wharf. The hotel has 2 swimming pools with pool bars. Good size pools for relaxing & for children. Nice beach is a 2 minute walk where you can hire beach chairs at a discounted rate. Good Buffett menu. Hotel & rooms were very clean, service was high level. We booked a Quadruple Room with Pool View and Breakfast at Galaxy Hotel from 18–23 July 2025. However, upon arrival, we were informed that the room we had originally booked was unavailable.
Instead, we were moved for the first night to a Triple Executive Room at Naxos Resort (sister hotel of Galaxy). We were told this would be followed by an “upgrade” to a Family Executive Room for the remainder of our stay. While both rooms were newly renovated and nice, they were smaller and, based on our research, of lower value than what we had initially booked.
The hotel manager insisted it was an upgrade, claiming the Family Executive Room was their best option across both hotels, priced at €400 per night vs. the Quadruple Room we booked at €360. However, this contradicts pricing shown on the hotels’ official websites. We took screenshots on 20 July: the Family Executive Room was listed at €395, while the Quadruple Room we originally booked was listed at €484 per night. The room we booked clearly had a higher value than the one we stayed in.
It was also inconvenient to have to change rooms mid-stay—especially as we were travelling with a child and had to repack and unpack. The hotel did offer us lunch on the first day as compensation, which we appreciated. However, no further refund or adjustment was offered, despite the fact that we were placed in smaller, less expensive rooms for the entire stay.
After we asked multiple times to be moved back to the room we had booked, the manager said the Quadruple Room had a plumbing issue. We understand that unforeseen issues can happen—but we also believe guests should be treated fairly. If we ended up in a lower-value room, we should have at least been compensated for the difference.
To be fair, the hotel’s location, pool area, and breakfast buffet were good. But overall, we felt let down by how the situation was handled and disappointed that the hotel continued to present it as an upgrade when it clearly was not. A more honest and customer-focused approach would have gone a long way.

We had a wonderful experience at the Galaxy hotel! My brother and I stayed here for 4 nights in one of the superior double rooms with a balcony overlooking the pool. The room was clean and spacious and the staff was delightful and very accommodating.
The walk to Chora (main naxos town) isn't too far - its ~10 minutes to the center of town. As long as you don't mind walking to places, it is by no means a long or rigorous walk.
The beach is also within walking distance and there are many beach clubs to chose from. Cannot recommend this hotel enough!

Hotel is in a great location. Town is a short walk and it’s right on the beach. The room was spacious and clean and the breakfast has plenty of options to choose from and the food was excellent. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The pool area is fantastic for a relaxing day by the pool and has a bar for drinks and food. You also get the benefits of using some facilities at Naxos Resort which is next door.

Everything here was amazing. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. They helped with whatever we asked them. The resort was beautiful and the room nice was an amazing view from the balcony. Would come here again and recommend to anyone coming to Naxos

This hotel provided a delightful experience. The property is beautiful, with comfortable rooms. We were fortunate to have a room facing the pool, offering a lovely spot to watch the sunset. The view from our room was picturesque and relaxing.
The breakfasts were splendid, catering well even to vegetarian guests like myself. There was a great variety of options, including Greek sweets and fresh fruits.
While not directly on the beach, the hotel was conveniently located just a 4-minute walk from Agios Georgios beach. The surrounding area featured several local shops, including supermarkets and restaurants. The town, a mere 15-minute walk away, came alive at night, offering plenty of wonderful attractions and activities to enjoy.
The service and attention to detail were excellent. Helene and Maria ensured we had everything we needed and even assisted us in renting a car to explore other beaches in the area.

What an absolute fantastic hotel, room was excellent and very clean, hotel was very clean. The breakfast was delicious and I loved the coffee machine which provided really nice tasting coffee. All the hotel staff were very helpful and extremely polite. I have to give a special mention to Maria on Reception, she was so helpful and lovely to talk to and is a exceptional credit to the Galaxy Hotel. It was our first visit to Naxos and we will definitely return. When we return we will book a room at The Galaxy, this hotel was a great find and we are so pleased to have stayed there.

Absolutely wonderful hotel! From the moment we arrived, we received a lovely welcome and the hotel was beautiful. Perfectly located next to the beach and just 10 minute walk to the harbour, Galaxy Hotel was an oasis of peace and luxury, with a lovely swimming pool and plenty of sun beds. The rooms were spotless with excellent power showers, fresh towels, great buffet breakfast and the best coffee in Greece!! Special thanks to Eleni on reception for making us feel so welcome and also the team of cleaners who work so hard to make sure everything was perfect. We will definitely come back!

I cannot say enough about the service we received at the hotel from the young women cleaning our rooms, the ladies at the front desk who could not be more gracious and helpful, to our favorite Harry, the bartender/lifeguard who was so wonderful and kind even to our kids. They truly made our stay exceptional.

We were so fortunately that the hotel was able to accommodate us after an airbnb booking went sideways!!! The staff is so incredibly warm and friendly and provide impeccable service. The hotel is updated/renovated and the rooms are really lovely. Love the fact that there are two pools to choose from and that the hotel is literally steps away from the beach. The hotel also has an arrangement with one of the sunbed rental places on the beach providing you with 50% off the rentals. Breakfast buffet was fabulous and offered both hot and cold items and a variety of delicious coffees. Location to town and restaurants is absolutely perfect. We were truly sad to leave and highly recommend as THE place to stay when visiting Naxos.
