Elia Mykonos Resort

We found this resort to be extremely expensive, especially compared to other options in Mykonos. There are better beaches around the island where you can get a pair of sunbeds for around 20 euros, rather than the 70 euros per sunbed that this resort charges. The only place to get a drink or something to eat is from the main resort restaurant, which is also overpriced. We don’t mind paying extra when it feels justified, but in this case, it didn’t feel worth it. Overall, we felt that the resort didn’t offer good value for the money, especially considering the more affordable and equally enjoyable alternatives available nearby.

I hate to rate it one star, as the food tastes great, probably 4/5 taste and the service on the night was great. However, we both ended up with food poisoning. Others have said they were fine here. We did warn the restaurant the next day and they tried to palm it off as an epidemic going around. It just felt like a template lie and this is ultimately why the 1 star review was cemented.

A bit of decency in saying thank you for letting them know and maybe offering to refund the meal would have been the right thing to do. Instead it felt disingenuous and sorry but I can't risk going somewhere that had me sick about 20 times in the night and literally just a few hours after eating on a day when I didn't have lunch and the breakfast was the same breakfast we had all week at our 5 star hotel.

So maybe we were unlucky, and maybe it was a bug. You take your chances though, because for me I didn't believe it and I wouldn't take a chance on being that sick again.
