Where to stay with pets in Matala

I really liked it, we had a front sea view room and it was good. Has a pool but I didn't go in as the beach is right next to it. Location is superb, watch sunset on beach come back get changed so easy

The overall experience is very good! The facilities are nice ( 4 swimming pools, a gym and common areas), the location is perfect, our room is literally 1minjte away from Matala beach

the hotel is very near to matala beach. The room was in the building behind the parking spots. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was perfect with everything you need

The only thing: bathroom is small and if you shower, you would have water everywhere in the bathed. But we would recommend this hotel

Our room was big and had a balcony where we could put our clothes to dry. Employees from the hoteL were all friendly and helpful!

The current situation of hungry, unsterilized cats leads to overpopulation and suffering. This is causing distress both to the animals and to guests

As already identified multiple time in previous evaluation, there are many stray cats in/ around the hotel, most clearly in need for food and care

The hotel management should organise sterilization and sufficient feeding stations. They are quiet and nice cats; many are/could be domestic ones

Until hotel management act, if you’re still planning to stay here and if you care about these animals, help: feed them discretely/sign on-line survey to authorities/donate to Creta association/adopt and/or continue lobbying hotel management

Breakfast is simple but enjoyable, with tables outside in the garden area. We did not tested dinner; the buffet was small. Matala beach is close, well equipped, not too crowed at beginning of the season (end May)

Stray cats are everywhere in Creta; I did only see worst in Cyprus with mistreatment and dying cats. Greece is worse than Africa on this topic

I like everything there: the rooms, the breakfast, the garden, the hospitality of Olimpios (the owner of the hotel), the swimming pool

If you are lucky enough your afternoon around the magnificent pool will enchanted by Olympios mandoline and songs. Breakfast are following a tight schedule but the food quality is premium

We have been going to this place for 8 years. Olympios & Lydia hiswife will welcome you in an eco-friendly, familly focussed hotel

It is visited by many frequent customers who fell in love with the place and other 'de passage' who comes for a couple of night

I've stayed at this hotel three times. It is my favorite hotel on the island of Crete

Tasty breakfast with many options, good location, easy and free parking. The big dog that wanders at the hotel reception can be bit scary but he was calm and obeyed the owner. There was a fridge in the room.

They also have plenty of parking spaces and a big fluffy bonus for dog lovers!

I had a lovely time in this beautiful hotel. The staff are very friendly and the property is very well kept. The beach is only a five minute walk and there are lots of shops and restaurants in the area

Comfortable and chill! The hotel let us enjoy the best of Matala. The cleaning service is very well done, the only pitfalls are the breackfast that is quite repetitive and the pool is closed during nightime

The breakfast was excellent offering a good range of foods. We had good air conditioning in our room which functioned efficiently. The price was very good value for money and the walk to the beach gave us our exercise

This small hotel is family owned and we were made to feel very welcome. Painted in traditional blue and white the premises were spotless and we stayed there for 2 nights bed and breakfast

Our twin room reminded me of Greek rooms of the 70s and was minimalist with a fridge, a drying rack for clothes and a veranda with pine trees outside offering shade and privacy

Wonderful hotel of a lovely family. If you come every year, you are welcomed and treated almost like a family member. The rooms were freshly renovated last winter. It's perfectly located near the main square.

For me, the location was important to keep distances short and relatively quiet, as well as WiFi

We stayed at the Eva Marina hotel for two weeks. Although it is not a luxury hotel (after all, there are no such hotels in Matala), our stay was very pleasant and we have everything we need

The rooms are spacious enough, have a kettle and a fridge. The terrace is nice, while the hotel garden is beautiful. The staff is attentive and helpful (thanks to Anastasia and Ioannis)

If you are looking for a small hotel right in the town center about 300m from the beach, this is the place for you. It is a 2 star hotel, so don't expect 5 star luxury

It's a 5-minute walk away from the town one way, and the beach the other way. Far enough to be completely quiet at night, and close enough to get there within walking distance. I can highly recommend this hotel

The supermarket adjacent to the hotel is convenient. Rooms are basic but have everything you need and are very clean (and cleaned every day). There's a little kitchen in there if you want to cook yourself

Our room had a nice balcony, which was great for our morning coffee. Breakfast is good and has variety. Worth the extra price, for sure. They were also good about dealing with my food allergy

Amazing. Its small, family business. Real 10% discount in supermarket on 1st floor. And there are normal prices anyway! Good room. Middle from beach and restorants streets.

We are lucky that we are in the penthouse and can therefore enjoy the roof terrace 🌞 But the other devices look nice and are also fine 👍🏼

If I stay in Aglia Galini again, I will definitely use this lovely place again

The location is perfect near restaurants and small center, the view of the see is amazing as well! Unfortunately we really had a small room near the elevator, the fact that it needs the key for the AC to work makes the room so hot, the bed was not really comfortable

This is a clean and well-maintained hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast buffet is extensive and varied. Very nice sea view. 2nd year here. We're still very happy to stay in Palazzo Greco.

Very nice modern hotel overlooking the see. The beach and the restaurants in town a walking distance. Nice breakfast on the terrase with gorgeous views.

Freshly squeezed orange juice and fresh pastries done by the owner are on the menu every day in addition to toast, jam and fresh fruit. Free parking in front of the hotel or on the streets close to it

Beautiful beaches are in the surroundings and Agia Galini has quite some charm too featuring a little beach and plenty of good and inexpensive restaurants

The service was over all expectations. The breakfast was wonderful and something for everyone. If you needed transport they had a taxi service to help at very very good prices.

No lift but comfortable wide stairs (likely we got 1st floor as we had lot of luggage). Luggage storage in the corridor (attended)

Short walk (steep, 10min) to very nice calm beach, but we also drove to beach (we have a SUP) and parking was available and free (in early October). Lot of restaurants and stores withing 5 min walk

Lovely hotel on a nice location. Rooms are a little bit outdated but are clean and we had a very nice bed! Staff is very friendly and helpful. When we are returning to AG we will return to this hotel.

There are also 3 small swimming pools accessible for all the customers, with however rather few parasols (under 32°C it is hot!), except for the swimming pool located at the level of the reception, certainly small but very well equipped and very pleasant to read a little

Absolutely great. Villa on top of a mountain with a view on the Mediterranean Sea. Your own pool, of course cable TV and AC. Either for romantic getaway, bachelor party or family trip.

Sitting right on top of the mountain range it has spectacular views of Agia Galina harbour. We were treated to a fine meal as the sun set washed down with a chilled Rose

Firstly, disregard anyones reviews with 3⭐ or less as they are whiney Karens, unfortunate for their loved ones. For the price this place is unreal with some of the best snorkeling 🤿, scuba and sunrise/sunsets imaginable

Beautiful little hikes with an amazing beach one direction, and beach village the other, both only 7mins away. Staff was great, you can see everyone including pool maintenance and cleaners are happy with their jobs

I can't even start to describe how magnificent the landscape and the sea are, or the fact of sunbathing on the cliffs almost alone, the swimming pool from which you dominate the cost and the promenade in the mountains above

We spend 3 nights in Kalypso and the experience of having such a beautiful nature around was breathtaking. Rooms clean, spacious with balcony

The location is really beautiful and demonstrates all the wilderness of the south Crete as well as that of the open Mediterranean Sea

There is still lots of things to do: 🏖 Perfect beach (2mins walking, sunbeds + umbrella ~5€/day, plenty of bars…) ⛰ small caves and tunnels right next to the hotel 🍽 many good restaurants (check out elia in sellia) 🌴 preveli palm beach / canyon nearby 🚗 rental car recommended to get to chania, rethmno etc

The rooms are simple but have everything you need and feel very authentic with their colourful doors and windows. The breakfast is served on the beautiful terrace under olive trees with a beautiful view of the bay

The architecture of the hotel is very beautiful with all the stairs and different angles. Only the Wifi in our room was poor, because our room was in the far east. The owners said they would repair that

The Hotel Lofos is beautifully located and very clean. The family is extremely friendly and accommodating. Anyone who wants to have an original, traditional Greek experience is in good hands here

We had a wonderful time and can recommend the Lofos Hotel! Furthermore, the south coast of Crete is much more beautiful and unspoiled than the north. The enchanting town of Rethymnon can be reached in about 40 minutes

I can See the beach from my room. I walk around 150 I guess to the beach. The staff is so friendly and kind. Didn't have had such a welcoming a long time. Except for people who needs space in the bathroom

We stayed in July at the Belvedere apartments in Plakias , Crete , I was compelled to write a review because of the amazing standard of service we received. From the moment we arrived the level of service was excellent

Impeccably clean rooms and the attention to detail was outstanding. The receptionist Elda has to be one of the happiest people we have ever encountered and nothing was too much trouble

The only downside was no one mentioned how the restaurant sign up system worked, which confused the team as they could never find us on the list. Not that it was ever a problem as we were always allocated a table
