Where to stay with pets in Matala

I really liked it, we had a front sea view room and it was good. Has a pool but I didn't go in as the beach is right next to it. Location is superb, watch sunset on beach come back get changed so easy

The overall experience is very good! The facilities are nice ( 4 swimming pools, a gym and common areas), the location is perfect, our room is literally 1minjte away from Matala beach

the hotel is very near to matala beach. The room was in the building behind the parking spots. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was perfect with everything you need

The only thing: bathroom is small and if you shower, you would have water everywhere in the bathed. But we would recommend this hotel

Our room was big and had a balcony where we could put our clothes to dry. Employees from the hoteL were all friendly and helpful!

We had a wonderfull vacation in a very beautiful bungalow. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. We would certainly return.

My mom and I have come here 15 years in a row at the beginning of summer. It feely so welcoming seeing the three brothers who one the hotel and most of the staff every year again. Other guests also come back every year

drink bar, restaurant, garden swimming pool 20 meters nice under the palms. few times a week there is an event in restaurants garden - concert , movie etc. It's not so noisy and crowded like the centre of the village

excellent food! home made fresh meals. It's 11 minutes of easy walking on flat terrain to main street and the beach. there is not ANY disco under the windows for whole night. you have all you need in the hotel

Accomodating people. When ac was broken they tried to fix same day and offered (with some prodding) a new room. Very helpful staff and great breakfast. 15m walk to the beach. Stay here.

The food is homemade and very delicious. They show a grand variaty of typical greek food, and always a vegetarian option. The rooms are clean and contain everything you need

If you are lucky enough your afternoon around the magnificent pool will enchanted by Olympios mandoline and songs. Breakfast are following a tight schedule but the food quality is premium

I like everything there: the rooms, the breakfast, the garden, the hospitality of Olimpios (the owner of the hotel), the swimming pool

We have been going to this place for 8 years. Olympios & Lydia hiswife will welcome you in an eco-friendly, familly focussed hotel

It is visited by many frequent customers who fell in love with the place and other 'de passage' who comes for a couple of night

I've stayed at this hotel three times. It is my favorite hotel on the island of Crete

Tasty breakfast with many options, good location, easy and free parking. The big dog that wanders at the hotel reception can be bit scary but he was calm and obeyed the owner. There was a fridge in the room.

They also have plenty of parking spaces and a big fluffy bonus for dog lovers!

I had a lovely time in this beautiful hotel. The staff are very friendly and the property is very well kept. The beach is only a five minute walk and there are lots of shops and restaurants in the area

10 min walk from beach. Tasty breakfast. Small swimming pool available. Public parking available only however there a lot of free places to park.

This is a great little hotel at 10 minutes walk from the center of Matala. Nice rooms, great looking pool, delicious breakfast and lovely hosts

Great location, very nice hotel, clean and everything in the room works. Staff very friendly. Pool area fantastic.

Comfortable and chill! The hotel let us enjoy the best of Matala. The cleaning service is very well done, the only pitfalls are the breackfast that is quite repetitive and the pool is closed during nightime

Peaceful, beautiful and extremely good value for money (even with a pool). Basic rooms, but very clean and with nice balconies. We stayed one night and had breakfast. The family running the hotel treated us very kindly

The pool was great! However, that room had no Wi-Fi reception, the curtains were not occlusive (sunshine at 6am) and the air conditioning along with the fridge were so loud that we had to switch them off for the night

Even with that off, we were awoken at 6am by super loud pigeons and caged bird on the pine trees in the garden

Beautiful and relatively peaceful experience. We felt very welcome and at home in the room just by the pool

Fine place. I just got annoyed by drunk people in the pool at night, people talking loud in the corridor and the stink sewer in the room sometimes.

The staff could not have been kinder and best of all, there was a resident hostel dog! He was the real surprise, living his best life panned out on the marble floors and at night, greeting us on our return after a fabulous session at the local bars

They are small, but changes in the kitchen are for the better: there are separate shelves where guests can keep their things, which do not necessarily have to be in the fridge. In high season, just right! May 2023

The location is perfect: it's close to everything; the bus stop from/to Heraklio is right in front of the hostel

Working Wi-Fi (however, sometimes there may be connection problems), free sun umbrellas and "free shop corner" for guests, and a large common space on the ground floor. Young nice multilingual service staff

On certain days of the week (ask at reception), the staff organizes various events. I HIGHLY recommend going out for a Greek sample dinner for only 10 euros at Sunset taverna (Ἡλιοβασίλεμα Ταβέρνα)

I stayed here for the third time. It was the beginning of the season, so despite booking an 8-person dorm, I was upgraded to a 6-person room at no extra charge (for 9 nights 7 days I was alone)

Wonderful hotel of a lovely family. If you come every year, you are welcomed and treated almost like a family member. The rooms were freshly renovated last winter. It's perfectly located near the main square.

For me, the location was important to keep distances short and relatively quiet, as well as WiFi

If you are looking for a small hotel right in the town center about 300m from the beach, this is the place for you. It is a 2 star hotel, so don't expect 5 star luxury

The most important clean room and bathroom, it seems to have been recently renovated, super nice staff with an open ear to questions

Our only criticism: the bed was a bit hard for our taste and the breakfast quite minimal ( which was enough for us, we want mostly coffee in the mornings ). If ever back in Matala, we would stay in the same hotel

Quiet place in the crowded town of Matala. Good parking space and easy access to all relevant spots in Matala (red beach, caves, restaurants, beach and shops). We had a beautiful balcon with nice flowers

Towels were there, nevertheless a hairdryer was missing. I would totally recommand this place for visiting Matala

The whole hotel is clean, the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a joy plus only a short walk in to town or beach

Con: Shower handle can't be adjusted and falls out of the handle every few mins. The Wifi is extremely bad. The router should be switched. Pro: Clean and more or less modern. Cleaned every day. Free parking.

Hotel Sofia was the best sleep we've had in Crete. Cool, air conditioned room with a brilliant view. Clean and functional space with beautiful outdoor spaces

Watch your head going up the stairs! And we overslept (because the bed was so comfy) and missed breakfast. Hope to get the same room when we come back

We had such a lovely time here. Our room was very clean and comfortable with a lovely balcony. We loved the amazing location, two minutes walk to the beach or shops and restaurants

The hotel is located in a street just outside the 'busy' centre of Matala, although you can hear the neighbour slam a door, you won't hear anything else

Wonderful staff and beautiful rooms and a decent length away from the beach. I can't even describe how well the staff treated us, and the rooms were super clean all the time.
