The staff were fantastic as was the breakfast and cleanliness.
The only problem was that the air-conditioning was not available and as somebody who’s always cold, I did not think this would be a problem. However, it was so hot it was uncomfortable and it was difficult to sleep.
The reason for this is that it’s late September so it’s classed as winter and they couldn’t get the air-conditioning turned back on in the time we were there.
It was still 26° outside though!

Good location, decent rooms given the price and the staff was helpful and friendly.
The only thing I feel they can improve on is opening the restaurant with normal menu food a little earlier. Since we wanted to eat at 16:00 and it was not possible.

Very nicely appointed hotel. Quiet and very clean with spacious rooms. Just north of city center and only a short walk to everywhere you’d want to visit. Fantastic city view from the balcony.

Great Hotel in Szeged.
Rooms are very nice and clean. Plugs with USB.
Breakfast buffet was good. Nice choice of bread.
Parking spots are available in front and in the back of the hotel.

+ Extremely late Check In was no issue.
+ Staff was very professional and very nice.
- Unfortunately, Mini Bar was not stocked. (Novotel does not do that anymore, but Mercure still does. Bring it back, please!)

We had a superior room. It was nice and clean and the view was beautiful. The bathroom was smalli, but nothing to complain about. Nice service and very tasty breakfast. A good place for visiting the city or a stopover.

Rooms are old (the standard ones) - mold traces on the ceiling, bathroom door was in a very bad shape (scratches), ripped towels, very old TV (from the ‘90s probably). The rooms face a busy street and it can be loud in the evening/night but the view is really nice. When I pointed out all of the above (with pictures) to the management they raised their shoulders and said the hotel is in renovation and they are terribly sorry (the room was already paid of course :)). They shouldn’t sell the standard rooms until they get renovated (definitely not a 4* hotel, maybe a 2*+). I have a stayed at a great 3* hotel in Budapest at the same price…

The hotel is very well located, near the city center and with fast access to public transport.
