Great location for catching funicular to Citta Alta [upper town], only a few minutes walk. Great breakfast included in night stay. We stayed 3 nights and really loved Bergamo, a quiet lovely town. The upper town is one of the oldest Roman towns in Italy and surrounded by a 5k Venetian defence wall. Both the upper and lower town are easy to walk around with lots of shops and restaurants. We requested a room with a balcony and could view the upper town [pic below]. Hotel is run very efficiently and I highly recommend staying if you visit Bergamo. 😎

We have just left the hotel and my hubby is bereft! Think he would have moved in if he could
Staff were very welcoming and helpful, always with a smile
Rooms were large and very comfortable
Beds were amazing, decor was a little dated but still luxurious
Breakfast was the best we’ve ever had in Italy there was nothing missing, and lots of wonderful choice

We stayed for one night. Room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was decent. The rooftop restaurant is way overpriced (6 euro per person cover charge)

Not a 4 star hotel. And NOT Adult Only, as advertised on British booking sites. The hotel is currently under refurbishment and we requested a twin room, we were in an older room which was very dated but preference was twin room over a newer room with a double so we were fine with this. When we arrived to our room, the chair fabric was torn and there was an iron burn mark on the carpet. There was an adjoining door and we could hear the people next door arguing and going to the toilet. At breakfast we realised it was indeed family friendly. One of us were bitten by a suspected poisonous spider in bed, three bites which resulted in a trip to the pharmacy, some antibiotic cream, and a second trip to the GP for more medication when we got home. Hotel staff apologised but because we were leaving the same day they weren't too concerned. Said they would fumigate for the next person. Reception staff friendly enough, bar staff super kind & the breakfast was good, although not as peaceful as we’d have liked! Good location to walk to / get the feniculore to the Citta Alta but a 15/20min walk from the atmosphere of the Citta Bassa. View from the room made the trip, despite us being the only balcony on the 7th floor without chairs to enjoy it.

Very pleasant staff and rooms as described.
They even let us have our luggage stored at the hotel when we came back five days later. Very accommodating! Would recommend.

Great location in the city. Only 10 min from the airport. Room I was in was a bit dated. Good selection for breakfast. Staff helpful.
A side note; taxis are very difficult to come by in Bergamo even when ordered by hotel. Order well in advance.

Hotel San Marco surprised us. The reception is very beautiful and modern, we got a room key from the lady with a huge tag with our room number. We had a room facing the street and on the third floor. Very nice view and even though we were near a busy street, we can't complain about the noise. The blinds on the windows can be controlled by the switch right next to the curtains. The bed was huge and beautifully made and changed every day. Breakfast rich in pastries, sundaes, cheeses, eggs, as well as sweet snacks, yogurts, jams. The price matched the quality and we will definitely be back.

From 7.00 on a Saturday morning the hotel is incredibly noisy! And this is not a problem of tourists, this is a renovation that begins at 7 am with the sound of a hammer hitting the wall! At the reception they say that this is from November 2023. If you value your sleep even a little, never stay at this hotel!

The hotel is old. The location is the best. You can walk to everywhere. The breakfast is very good. But the room is not the best.
