La Castellana Loft Hotel

Little gem of a hotel. Full of character and a great location. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Thank you Ricardo, for all your help with our short stay. We will definitely return for another city break.

Beautiful artistic apartment close the ascent to the historic high town. Loved the apartment. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, except a very unpleasant and unhelpful lady at breakfast. I would definitely recommend overall though.

Excellent communication from the reception team who sent a video showing us how to access our room after our delayed arrival from Bergamo airport. Spacious room, large comfortable bed, modern bathroom and bonus dining table and sofa. Spotlessly clean. Only issue was aircon not working effectively. Breakfast (in room next door) was plentiful , with very friendly and helpful service. Even better if - some instructions re aircon and wifi. Also breakfast ‘on ground floor’ confusing for a Brit as it was actually on the first floor (ie American English). All in all, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend La Castellana and would be very happy to return one day.

The hotel is accessed via one of the those enormous wooden gates which have a 'door within a door'. This gives access to a wide passage leading to the courtyard, the reception, and stairways to the hotel rooms. There was an elevator in the courtyard, but we did not see it operating. Security access cards make entering and exiting the hotel simple. We received a friendly and informative welcome from the staff at La Castellana, and found surprisingly large room with frescoed ceiling and kitchenette. Breakfast is buffet style, served in a dining area close to our rooms, and offered a good selection and savoury and sweet options. The room was comfortable and quiet. The parking garage is underground, and very convenient, although parking for the first time was a bit of an adventure and we learned to un/pack the car at ground level rather than carry our bags up & down the ramps. The hotel is located on a lovely pedestrian street with shops, boutiques & cafes close by. (Actually it's on a ZTL, so there an are few local vehicles and bicycles). Walking from the hotel to the Cittá Alta funicular took about 20 minutes, and there's an Iperal supermarket 15 minutes to the west. We enjoyed the hotel and its location, the ability to walk to city centre locations, and the convenience of securely parking the car and forgetting about it. Would happily stay at this hotel again, and have no hesitation recommending it to friends.

The location was excellent—just a short walk from the train station. It was also easy to reach all the main sightseeing spots. The hotel staff were very friendly, helpful, and pleasant. Breakfast was delicious, with good coffee and tasty pastries

No problems at all. We could store our luggage before check-in. The staff was awesome. It’s in the Bergamo center, you can walk everywhere. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast was good. Perfect for the price. Would recommend :)

This is a very quaint clean hotel in the centre of Bergamo very close to Citta Alta. Many restaurants and the train station are within walking distance. The staff was very welcoming and ready to help in any way. Breakfast served by the charming Mariza was also very good. Thank you to all. We shall be back.

The hotel is in an excellent location in the lower town with easy acces to public transportion. Most things are in walking distance. It's very quiet and the beds were great, so perfect for a good night's rest. The staff went out of their way when I informed them one day before we arrived that I would unexpectedly be travelling in a wheelchair. They called me from immediatly to tell me how they would assist me. As our room was on the first floor they gave us the key to a small elevator. They were so kinds and helpful and made our stay in Bergamo very pleasant after all. Great service! Some remarks: The mini refrigerator in the room was missing and the drinks were just placed in the closest, warm,... couldn't drink those. We had to eat in the small area upstairs and the breakfast was very simple and didn't have as many options as downstairs, as we noticed, as friends of ours had to eat there. That was a pity.

Never judge a book by its cover and certainly never judge a hotel by its front door. This hotel is situated in a very central location with everything accessible by foot. The hotel was spotless and well maintained overall. We stayed in the annex section across the courtyard which was very comfortable. Breakfast is so good with lots of choices. The staff are so helpful and made our stay memorable. Well done to all.
