FlyOn Hotel & Conference Center

This airport is one of the closest to Bologna airport (BLQ) but there is no safe way to walk. There is a free airport shuttle but it doesn't run between 12:30 and 21:30, so it was not useful for our flight time. We had to pay for a taxi to the airport. We booked a room with 2 twin beds but were assigned a room with a king bed. We were too tired to go back and request a change of room. It was a typical room. Also there is no food available for between 14:30 and 19:30. You can get a drink at the bar but there is nothing else, not even a vending machines or a snack except for a croissant.

the night shift receptionist was not friendly. Once I got my room I called back to the reception to inform that water from the shower came out brown and she said it was because the water bomb was changed and that I had to let it run, this should have been informed while doing the check in, but I also informed that there were plenty of ants walking in the night table right beside the pillow and that I did not want to sleep there, even tho I got another room I did not get a “I’m sorry about this” from the receptionist at all, she sounded mad because I made her work double for something is not acceptable in a “4 stars” hotel. The new room I got for this problem was smaller and smelled very bad, but as it was late and I was tired I did not have more energy to complain again and walk again the long distance to the reception with all my luggage (I was expecting something better for all the inconvenience)

Free shuttle to airport is very poor. It works only in the morning and late night I had to be at the airport at 8pm and it was not available at that time so I had to take a taxi that charges 12 euros for 1.5km

I have only positive things to say about the bar and restaurant staff. They are obviously short handed, but they hustle, and are exceptionally pleasant, given those circumstances.

The front desk staff, however, were less than welcoming, and very cold. We had an issue with our air conditioning not functioning, and instead of telling us that it was off season for AC, they sent a bellman/maintenance man to our room to tell us it doesn't work because it is not hot enough outside. Our room was 80° f. That made it difficult to sleep, which obviously is a problem when you are flight crew with an early flight. Interestingly enough, the other captain's room did have air conditioning, so where lies the truth? Idk, but if we never need to stay there again, that would be fine by me.

The bed has outlived its usefulness. It was so bouncy, and squeaky, again not qualities for a restful night's sleep.

Other positives, the shuttle was on time, and clean

Not that good. Air conditioning did not work. Hallway carpet was worn. Breakfast was good.
