Where to stay in Bologna

Room is better than I expected with very comfy bed and kettle for coffee. The breakfast is one of the best I have tried in recent multiple trips in Italy. Above all staffs are very friendly and welcoming. Location is not the best as there are no shops around but is within a short driving distance but the Centre.

Very good hotel. Good breakfast and service. Bit away from bologna center, although there is a bus right outside the hotel. 30 mins reach bologna center with 10-15 walk.

The room we booked was 40 square meters, but we were given 18 square meters. After we complained, they immediately changed the room rate and raised it on purpose, which seemed a bit fraudulent. Simple but nice place to stay. Beds are comfortable and rooms have what you need. Design is very clean and simple. Service from the staff is great and they are very welcoming. The place have some co-working area which looked nice. Almost wanted to work from here… Also have a free gym.

Overall pleasant stay, good rooms and excellent amenities with a lively mix of students, workers and travellers that gave it a proper community hub feel. The hotel is in front of the train station, nearly practical, for those travelling by train.  They also partner with a parking nearby, for 20 euro + per night. Worked well in my case, ask for the address of that Parkin advance as you can't park at the hotel.  The bed is comfortable, roof is comfortable but VERY small.  It's a 10 min walk to the happening in the center. Mercure brand is well known and the hotel looks well maintained. Was just a traffic light away from the train station. Makes travelling easy. Towards our room in the end there’s a small flight of stairs (3-4 steps), it will be inconvenient if there’s mobility issue or if your luggage is too heavy. Do let them know in case they didn’t see your situation.

Location of the hotel was the highlight, it was literally opposite the train station. There were shops and supermart nearby the hotel as well so it was convinient. The staff and rooms were great. The majority of the staff were very personable and approachable even for foreign travellers. The breakfast provided was one of the nicest hotel buffet breakfasts I've had in a while, offering everything from bacon and eggs, to cold cuts and breakfast pastries. The hotel is located in good place, right in front of the hotel you have shopping mall and some reastaurants, also nearby 3 min walking is Mc'Donalds. There are 2 bus line passing near the hotel which is sending you to the city center. Also Hotel have its own open air parking for cars.

Location is great. Noise level is a bit loud. Coming at change of seasons - with global warming - October 27th-31st - it's hot and humid with no air conditioner in rooms because they switched to heat only. Thank goodness they gave us a fan. We were on a short break from the UK and wanted a hotel within walking distance of the centre, this hotel was ideal. Also because it was so close to the main railway station it was very easy to get to and from the airport. We just caught the Marconi Express direct to the station and walked about 200 metres to the hotel. Cost of ticket is between 10 to 12€.

Great location if you are doing day trips out of Bologna as it’s extremely close to the train station. It would be nice if the hotel had an area to refill water bottles. We asked the bar staff who were happy to do so. Room is spacious and clean with air conditioning which you can control.

Excellent service with a wonderful ambience, well appointed studio apartment I stayed in. The option of a hotel room or studio apartment in another building nearby is great. The rooftop bar is not to be missed in regards to ambience, service and friendly staff.

I had a good experience here. At first glance, the lobby is quite nice and the staff was friendly. They said hello as soon as we walked in. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious. The breakfast buffet had many options and was tasty. This hotel was a short walk from the train station, so it was a perfect option for my early morning train.

If you want to stay by the train station, this hotel is in the ideal location. Breakfast is good and a fairly reasonable price. Rooms are clean. However, walls must be made of paper, and you can hear everything in the room next door. When this issue was reported to reception, they could only apologies that this was the problem with the hotel! So don't expect to get much sleep if you have noisy neighbours

Great hotel 6-7 minutes away from Bologna Centrale but far away from restaurants. The room was small but nice. The bathroom was spacious. One of the guys in the reception was not customer oriented at all. Bring your travel iron, there is not iron in the room and they don't provide it. We had a wonderful 9-day stay here. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The rooms clean and updated. The rooftop lounge was lovely -- a quiet respite during the day, coming alive evenings. Very nice hotel and service. The pool is superb. We travelled with kids and they enjoyed as well. Breakfast is nice and dinner in the hotel restaurant was very good, had dinner there twice. Had a rental car but also took the close-by bus number 20 to downtown Bologna, which was handy. The rooms are good though not newly minted. Airport is close-ish.

The hotel looks beautiful on the outside, the restaurant is great. The location is nice 15 mins from the airport and close to the center of bologna (you need a car to get into the center quickly). The hotel is near the highway. It has its own parking. You can reach the historical centre by bus. The bus stop is not far away but the bus no 20 sometimes gets stuck in rush hour traffic. We liked the room, the staff is very friendly and above all the breakfast is very delicious.

Una Bologna Centro is a great hotel with superb service staff. They were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with great food and choices. Right next to the train station, so thats great, about 20 mins walk into town. This hotel was just a one night stay as part of a longer holiday for us, and this was by far the worst service for us, and not a great hotel. Fine for the night, but all needs redecorating (not bright orange and bright blue)!. And the staff never seemed very happy or smiley. Would be great to have a kettle in the room!
