Mercure Sunbay Park Hotel

Moldy bathroom
Someone's hair (not mine) on the room floor.
The restaurant's food, aside from being expensive, was awful. I ordered seafood pasta: the clams were all sealed and impossible to open, 3 large mussels, and 2 shrimp, the shrimp still in their shells.
The only friendly staff was the man who served me at the restaurant.
The only good thing about the room was the view, because the bed had short, curly hair that looked like ***** hair.
I'm very allergic to mosquitoes, and I told them three or four days before the stay, and they told me they had insects in the garden, and that maybe this hotel wasn't the right one for me. I asked them to cancel the reservation so they wouldn't charge me, and I asked them to find another place to stay. Not only did they leave me on read in the chat, but even though they themselves said it might not be suitable, they were incapable of being humane with me and canceling the reservation, which is also very expensive for the night. Frankly, I'm surprised they're so unpresentable for what they charge. Let's hope the breakfast is decent.
I can't believe I spent 112 euros on this...

Hotel is in a good location, rooms are clean but water for showers and toilet was very low pressure and sometimes didn’t work at all. We spoke to the reception about it and it appeared to be a normal thing and told to wait 30 mins it should get better, which it did but if your on a time schedule you could have an issue. I’m sure it was a stellar hotel in its day.

This was rated as a 4 star hotel but from our perspective it wasn't even close. The overall condition of the hotel was run down. It requires an extensive upgrade. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a 4 star.

Very dated property and decor. Shower was dirty completely covered in black mould. Breakfast was not bad with a good selection.

Filthy rooms with consumed drinks left in the mini bar. The bathroom mirror had spit stains and the shower room was mouldy. The place does not live up to the Mercure brand name.

Facilities were subpar. Staff initially advised that an iron would be available, only for them to advise the next morning that it is not. The “hot” breakfast was cold and the cold breakfast was poor.

The only positive side of this hotel is its great location and room views.

We do not recommend this hotel as it needs a serious update and good cleaning! Mattress had no cover and was full yellow stains, bathroom had black mold. Lady at the front desk was polite and understanding.

The property is a long way from the port and train it has no transfer options and Taxi are hard to find when the boats are in harbour.
They have no working lift and we had to go up four flights of stairs
The doors in our room blew open during the night as it didn’t have proper locks
The bed was as hard as a rock
No phone in the room
No decent lighting
TV didn’t work
The bathroom was clean but shower screen was rusty and would get stuck when you closed it
Not any where near a Mecure standard we booked due to the name
