HOTEL ASTOR

Hotel was clean. Easy access to beach and city Limone. Negative side, room was too small (2pers). Not enough information available on the website about the room sizes. Service was excellent.

Stayed here for 4 night recently. Stunning location. Staff were very welcoming on arrival. Following a mix up with the car parking - you get an assigned space for the duration of your stay, we got our key. Room is functional at best. Plenty of storage. Twin beds pushed together, tiled floor, large balcony which looks onto the most amazing view of the snow capped peaks across the lake and to our right is the town. There is also a small safe. The bathroom is tiny but functional. A sink, toilet and shower. Clean towels daily. There was water in the fridge daily also, at 2.49 a bottle. The hotel is quite, while being full of tourists. We stayed on the 5th floor.

Top location with stunning views! Breathtaking scenery with a real mix of plants and trees from evergreens to cacti.
Every room has a lake view.
Be aware that from Verona airport it is an approximate 1.5 hour taxi ride costing approx 200 euro (300 on a weekend day). You can get a taxi to Peschiera or one of the other South Eastern towns serviced by the ferries. But it will take 3.5 to 4 hours to then get to Limone, but only costs 20 euros per ticket. So balance how you want to spend your time and money, but factor in if you wish to take in views and take photos from the lake itself.
All the hotels have ferry promo cards, so ensure you ask for one for discounted rates should you wish to explore other ports and towns like Riva or Balardo.
All the hotel staff do their best to be friendly and helpful. Special mention going out to gentleman in charge of the restaurant. He really was exceptionally good.
Rooms are comfortable in size and are equipped with a fridge, safe and a tiny TV. However the pillows are very thin and provide no support. I had to ask for 2 or 3 more to make it comfortable. The duvets are also thin, which would be fine for the hotter months, but not at the time of year we visited. Again, asked reception to provide extra blankets.
I ordered a double room and it was simply 2 singles, which didn't quite go together. I cannot comment if this is the same in all the rooms. There are no tea or coffee making facilities in the actual rooms.
The breakfast was nice, couple of types of eggs, bacon or Frankfurt's (not both). Continental options. Rolls and pastrys, etc.
Dinner was a little hit and miss. Risotto was a little undercooked one evening and overall the portions were a little small. But a 3 course dinner for the price was reasonable.
Breakfast is served and finishes early and the same for dinner. So be an early riser if you wish to take advantage of half board option.
Food locally, if you see my other reviews in the area are really good, suggest breakfast in the hotel if you are awake and lunch and dinner in town.
The bar is great, again with amazing panoramic views of the lake and Dolomite mountains.
I have mentioned a few negatives or gripes and only do so to help their business improve and future guests prepare for stays, but all in all I would definatly come and stay here again, pleasent, peaceful and professional. A relaxing destination. I had an amazing vacation in the Astor and I thank all the staff.

The beach is small, but the view is breathtaking. The food and the staff were really good,also with a dog it’s ok

The rooms have a great view, breathtaking! The cleanliness of the rooms is impeccable and the service staff was very nice. The breakfast is international standard, but nothing great. The dinner (luckily we only booked breakfast) was a disaster and not enjoyable (except for the vanilla ice cream but you can hardly go wrong with that) with the breakfast staff you had the impression that the only thing that bothers the guests is! But the room and the view and the proximity to the town center are worth the trip!
