They're funny about kids jumping in the pool (in the pool by the bar). Not entirely sure why, I guess because of noise. The pool on the other side is more relaxed, larger and the kids could enjoy themselves more over there.
The table tennis tables were a nice surprise, kids loved them, as well as the trampoline.
The reception staff were friendly and helpful (up until we checked out - see below), as were MOST of the bar staff. Unfortunately, Leno (I believe is his name / no hair, glasses), is the manager, and you get the feeling you are an inconvenience to him. He doesn't say hello or have a friendly demeanor, he complained to us (twice, in an animated fashion) about the wet floor in the pool bar area, because the kids had wandered from the pool to the seating area ready for lunch, plus it was raining so there was some wet foot steps between the tables. We also saw an altercation between him and a female member of staff at the dinner buffet, she looked visible annoyed, and it seemed to be around someone with a young baby, I can only hope it wasn't related to them breastfeeding as that would be a new low. Let's hope not and give him the benefit of the doubt, but still not nice to see that at dinner.
I probably would have looked at a return to this hotel, but in the morning of check out, whilst the taxi was waiting to take us to the airport, our friends who we were staying with, were asked to pay their bar tab, which we quickly could see was showing the incorrect amount, because we had both cleared our tabs half way through the week, but our friends mid-week payment wasn't on the hotels invoice. After showing the payment / transaction on their phone, our friends were told the hotel could only accept a paper receipt as proof (they would not accept the online transaction as proof), and would need to pay them, essentially twice! Innocent until proven guilty, I think not. With the pressure of the waiting taxi and looking through a suitcase to try and find the receipt to appease the hotel, it was not a nice experience. Luckily the hotel then DID find the receipt they had kept, they had made a mistake and put it against the wrong room. So, the hotel’s mistake, but our friends were made to stress and panic and argue, and did the hotel show much of an apology? No, they did not.
For the sake of a hundred euros or so, when you are spending thousands on the hotel stay, I recommend the hotel give their customers the benefit of the doubt, strive for customer service and quality of experience, and in future, if any issues like this occur, wish their customers a pleasant onward journey, say that the hotel will investigate and be in touch once they have fully checked their records.
I do feel like the general manner of the manager (as mentioned above) is likely to be negatively affecting the service of the hotel. Due to this, we will not be looking to book again.
Overall a fabulous holiday in a lovely hotel with wonderful staff. Don't be put off by the fact the hotel is on a hill, walk down and get the hotel bus back. Thank you royal village.
We had a large balcony unfortunately the furniture wasn't very comfortable to sit on for very long periods. For us we would have spent some time on the balcony enjoying the view.
The service we received from all the staff was excellent nothing was to much trouble. The reception staff answered our many questions in a helpful friendly manner. The food was good lots of different choices in the restaurant and lunch at the music bar was yummy and very reasonably priced. The bar staff were very great really made us feel welcome. The location of the hotel is high up. We had a bit of a trek to our room with stunning views. Not ideal if you have mobility problems. highly recommend this hotel.
The hotel is set on the hillside above Lake Garda and therefore could pose issues to the less mobile. To compensate, the Hotel does provide a shuttle bus service to and from Limone centre.
